Even Pete Hines said he understood where the comparisons were coming from, but explained how they weren't the same in that Xbox extended interview.

I don't even see how he could say that like Borderlands doesn't exist. He is just assisting in spreading the idiocy. L4D and B4B you run through the same campaign missions over and over again at various difficulties. There is no downtime, not much storytelling neither. Just you sprinting through the same levels running for your life with A.I bots or humans getting attacked by waves of enemies. That goes for World War Z and Warhammer Vermintide as well. The only thing they have in common is being co-op. If that's the case Gears Of War is like Left 4 Dead.

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
  • RedFall - Will be playing in single player cuz i dont want fuckers messing with my run through, after ive completed it ill join others with my OP character.
  • Forza Motorsport - I still dont believe that was actually gameplay, it looks absolutely stunning, the leap from FM7 to FM8 is mindblowing.
  • Pentiment - You cant go wrong.
  • Grounded - The Gamepreview had me sold on the gameplay, now we get the full story...im sold as shit already, right into my veins.
  • Starfield - Probably not at launch cuz Ill have other games to play and I know once I start Starfield I wont be playing anything else.

Every time i see trailers with 3-4 players running towards the screen, my heart sighs. "lollipop_disappointed:
Just because it's an option doesn't mean you have to use it

You csn still play in your fishbowl all by yourself.

But in the event you ever make a friend or 2 you can play a game together if you choose.

Raytraced lighting in all forms would definitely fall under "next gen"
So battlefield 5, watch dogs: legion spiderman etc are next gen?

I think its going to be a lot harder to qualify what is next gen visually, in technical terms. At least until the tail end of this gen.

Imagine someone told you last year's E3 there will be zero 1st party AAAs from MS studios releasing in 2022.

Pentiment looks very interesting, hope it comes on time in otherwise barren November.

No. I specifically said Raytraced Lighting. Raytraced reflections are the bottom of the barrel for raytracing. For example compare Miles Morales on PS4 vs PS5 visually. Then compare Metro Exodus PS4 vs The Enhanced Edition on PS5. The lighting is a generational leap and changes the whole look of the game. Raytraced Reflections are window dressing.

Yeah its not good.

But, its not the whole story.

Gampass is pretty essential for xbox series owners, and it provides a lot of great content.

In reality people dont only play exclusives.

And then theres the matter of personal preference, if Ragnarok comes out, objectively the PS5 lineup has been really good this year but for my personal taste im only interested in Ragnarok.

Other than people on forums does anyone really give a shit about first party? Third party or exclusives?

If they see games they want to play on the box they want to buy, that pretty much seals tge deal. No?

Ok, but reflections are a part of "lighting".
What you mean is realtime dynamic global illumination with multiple bounces.

But I don't agree with this, because that would that mean returnal or ratchet+ clank rift part are not "next gen" visually, because they dont have realtime Gi.

Yeah, that's what some people here don't seem to get. The majority doesn't give a shit whether a game is exclusive or not, they just want to play. And Gamepass provides exactly what they want.

It's always filler.

Just like Stray. Only CatLady CatLady would like that.

I’m telling you, as an Xbox die hard, Xbox are pulling some duplicitous shit with these 4 games.

I find it unfeasible that those games are far along enough to say ‘first half 2023’ with such assuredness, but not commit to a solid release date, or even a release month.

I’d love to be proven wrong, but we will see.

In my opinion Xbox knew the optics were horrible for 2022 so they’ve said ‘first half 2023’ for all of these to placate the fans, knowing that some of them will be q4 2023.

sure, I'm very happy with gamepass and I play mostly AAs and 3rd party on the Xbox anyway. I just hope now after all acquisitions MS product development will finally get their shit together for 2023 and beyond.

I never said Raytraced GI was the only qualifier.

Seems plausible, starfield is just in a polishing faze, turn 10 I dont think ever delayed a game, same with mojang. They probably have not done exact dates because they are still working that out.

For consoles a level of texture detail that would be impossible on the previous consoles given memory constraints.
Higher res textures have been a thing on PC for a long time.

So far the games made for this generation seem more like last gen+

I dont think its going to be like last gen, when there was a very large increase in many visual components.

Theres a reason why cross gen games are competing visually with fully current gen exclusives, its diminishing returns, increases in visuals require more compute as visuals get better.

I will try all via gamepass, I will not judge any games before I play these.
btw. Gamepass is getting better and better.

I don't have an XSX yet,I was thinking about trying to get one for Starfield but that first look has left me feeling underwhelmed so that's not going to happen any time soon now.I'm sure Forza will be a good game, other than that though there is nothing there that I would even bother to try on GamePass if I had a subscription.

Played just a bit of it when it first hit early access just to see what the game was about but decided to hold off on playing because I wanted the full experiece at release. It did seem like a really good game.

Trust me.... Grounded is by far the best Survival Game I have ever played.
When it comes out with the Story... This Game is easy a 90+
Solo or Coop its Pure Fun👍
I enjoyed it when it first came out and then left it, generally don't like doing too much in Early Access games cause i don't like restarting games. it did seem really fun.

I do wonder if it will get reviews when 1.0 comes out.

Yeah Starfield I can't see coming out that soon. Looks ambitious but rough at the moment.

I honestly would prefer they delay it until its at least made sure its Save game system is secure and safe, so that files that don't get corrupted at or around launch like previous Bethesda games etc.

Also I think Microsoft might be pulling the whole, "Call of Duty MW2" is our big end of year release with some Gamepass announcement assuming the deal goes through.

MS doesn't own AB yet (and won't until next year), so it's not "their" game. I also believe Sony has the marketing deal for COD until like 2024.
