Personally I’ve got a 1tb ssd drive in my pc that has my OS and data, then I also have a 1tb usb hdd that I backup my data to once a month, and I also back up some of my important data to Google Drive cloud storage (they give you 15gb free just for having a gmail account).

Having a physical backup gives me tons of space and security, but then cloud storage helps in case my house ever gets burned down or broken into, or if I need to access data remotely. I know some people have storage servers with raid arrays though where you can lose so many drives before your data is actually affected.

How do you store and backup your data, GAF?

I pay google 1 to share 200g for photos and drive for important docs for me and my wife's phones, 29.99 annually.
I stuffed a 2 tb internal here at work and bring with me a portable 2tb external that I sync via Backup4All once a month or so when I dump my videos/photos/music off my potato SameSung Ultra with a 256g sd card.

The 2 tb I stuffed here at work also gets sync'd with my company's paid Sync account( 100 bucks I believe annually), which is another 3tb of cloud storage just in case.

Comes out to like 30 bucks a year on top of the external and internal mechanical drives I purchased.

I backup each main folder manually every few months on external hard drives, since windows is dumb and likes to eat every gb with shadow copies. In the event my computer suddenly dies, I’ll only have to reinstall games, so it’s not much of a loss, just kind of annoying. I thought about using a different backup manager, but my OS is pretty messed anyway from tweaking it, so better off I start fresh

I back up private files on my NAS with RAID, and a once a month backup for those files on a separate external drive that goes into a fireproof safe, for nonpersonal files I use google drive, one drive, etc.

For files, I rely on OneDrive for most personal and business stuff. I have separate accounts for my personal PC and work stuff. Apple Cloud or whatever it's called for stuff on my phone.

I use Google Drive for long-term retention of files. Both work and professional.

As far as backing up my Windows devices, I no longer do that. I just create a system restore image on a thumb drive and that's it. If I need to restore the entire logical disk at some point I can just wait for OneDrive to replicate my files afterwards. Then say download my Steam games or whatever. I really don't care to take constant full backups or imaging my machine. Fuck it.

All personal data on OneDrive.
Some random stuff on various USB disks.
I really should make a backup of the SD card in my Raspberry Pi tho, it has 1000s of retro games (rom, disk and CD format) and some of them took some searching to acquire and config to set up. Would wipe away weeks of work if that suddenly failed.

my PC has 3 drives. 1) 250GB boot drive SSD for Windows/programs. 2) 2TB SSD for games 3) 2TB HDD for storage.

both SSDs don't need backed up. if i do a clean install on my PC then i download all my programs manually. i don't like keeping a back up of them because they might be out of date/not update automatically. most games i keep on my SSD but games i download from Epic i need to download again manually (i wish Epic would let us import games). i don't see the point of backing up games so if i need to i just download them all again.

my 2TB HDD with documents, photos, videos, music, games (ps1/ps2 discs i ripped. all legal dw), etc. I reguarly back up to an external 1TB HDD. i have about ~300GB free on the 1TB drive right now but i will replace it with a 2TB if i start to get to about 100GB free space but i can't see that happening any time soon. all i really save to it now are cat photos/videos

i really should back up my back up drive but i can't be arsed. i'd need to buy another drive and swap it with my current 1TB in my external enclosure whenever i want to do a back up. it's not really difficult but i'm lazy and don't want to spend the money i looked into cloud storage to back up my 1TB drive but i don't want to pay a subscription fee. i do have onedrive/icloud but i'm on the free plan. in my one drive i only have a documents folder for games (ffvii remake/rocket league) and on my icloud a couple spreadsheets.

I have an Unraid server with 63TB and right now only one parity disk but will eventually have two. I also have all my important things, like pictures, also saved to Google cloud storage and Amazon cloud storage.
