State of Play - June 02, 2022

I think the show will look like this:

Stray - gameplay + release date July 19, 2022

Returnal - DLC or expansion for PS5 and PC

PS VR2 - no release date

Horizon PSVR2

PSVR2 third-party and indies

Forspoken - gameplay + release date

God of War Ragnarok - release date September 2022

Seriously, why is it taking CyGames so long for updates on Relink? Seems like we only get one Scooby Snack sized morsel of info per year.

In their defense, CyGames assumed the game creation after PlatinumGames take off.

you missed the part where they mention "third-party and VR"

Wonder what they are gonna show there. The regular pattern of all the previous State of Plays (that are not dedicated to a single game like GT7 one) is "overhype -> disappointment"

Stray release date should be announced as well.

Yes this is certainly going to be there as well (y)

To the concerned people, don't be concerned :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Sony doesn't put all their eggs in a single basket.
We'll surely have something dedicated to GoW, a full showcase and so on.
If you don't like this SOP you won't have to wait an other year for new announcements.
In February/March we got multiple events.

How are you gonna have a 30 minute show is what I dont understand. IIRC, in the first 30 minutes of the 2015 show, Sony had a horizon demo, a the last guardian demo, and both the shenmue and FF7 reveals.

These shows should be getting bigger. Gaming is more profitable and bigger than ever but the shows are getting shorter. I really dont understand where all the money is going.
Also why not wait and have a proper PSVR2 reveal. I don't really wanna see any games in development as it's not out till next year.
Why not just show PS5 games?

Hello, old friend. FFXVI please...

That said, I have State of Play, Lord Geoff's SGF, and MS/Bethesda Conference to enjoy in the span of 10 days. Nice.

Man I miss sony ps3&ps4 E3 shows
2 hours of legendary moments in videogames industry
Jim Ryan ps5 era sucks so much compared to the past
I hate these dumb boring state of plays 😣😥
Guy has no charisma. He's charming as a wet blanket. Why do you think Sony don't have long shows anymore? Imagine listening to him for two hours?

yeah, agree with others that god of war will have a dedicated state of play. do we need that though? they are going to end up spoiling the whole game if they show too much. all we need is another trailer and release date.

Thinking they'll show:
Stray
Little Devil Inside

Hoping they show:
Stray
Little Devil Inside
Street Fighter 6
Dragon's Dogma 2
Final Fantasy XVI

Updates on Stray, Call of Duty, Forspoken and possibly FF XVI...Street Fighter 6, mayyyyybe...VR titles.
I am wondering what their "shows" roadmap is? July/August for a God of War dedicated state of play? September for their annual PS showcase? Fair enough...But when are they properly unveiling the PS VR2? Early next year? Sounds reasonable to me...🤔

Good Lord...You remind me of a certain Planetsmasher on the other forum/dumpster. Threads are filled with snot and tears to the point of becoming unreadable. Chill out, for the love of the video games Gods...😐

Ahahaha nice try, Sony!

I'm not falling for this again.

We all know how it goes:

- announce a state of play
- insiders and leakers tell us that we aren't ready for what's about to be shown
- we build insane levels of hype
- we get shown some negative-hype- worthy stuff
- insiders and leakers tell us they pulled the big stuff out at the last minute. But definitely next time, we'll see the big ones maybe!

FF16 new footage and release date is the biggest item on this show. Will be a few other things, but most of the first party stuff probably being saved for a different show.

All they need is a trailer/teaser for God of War Ragnarok with the release date, and mention that they'll show more closer to launch, and we golden.

Sprinkle in a little third party somewhere in there and I agree with this list...Maybe take out Horizon PSVR2 since I feel like another show for that will happen towards the end of summer/early fall.

This'll be a big nothing, but at least the Cowabunga Collection was announced at the last one. So, there are juicy nuggets every now and then.

Returnal’s director said they’re done with Returnal now. Ascension was the goodbye.

Its going to PC but we aren’t getting more DLC.

Shit I forgot, I also want updates on this.

They will likely concentrate on the near future so what I expect

Forspoken
GoW (release date?)
MW2 (VR?)
Stray
Some VR games (released game support too)
Some indie games

That seems reasonable to me

I'm so ready, I've transcended from wanting Bloodborne Remastered/Remake/2, to wanting Bloodborne 3

Ugh, its a state of Play...

I'll watch ONLY because its "E3 season", but Sony really needs to improve their presentations.
