Sony: "Acquisition of Bungie Represents a Major Step Forward in Becoming More Multiplatform"

That's a very fan boyish belief. I was told at ND that they had to change a lot of code in their game engine to create a new pipeline to support the PC - NOT because it's an old game and people won't care about it.

I swear you guys go through great leaps and bounds to portray your fan boyish tone. It's embarrassing.
No it's not fanboyish. I own a gaming PC, I just don't start waving my cock around any time PCs are mentioned.

Also, you're the one with 'Playstation Fanclub' under your name, and you're in no position to be talking shit given the PCMR tone of all of your posts.

You've been talking about The Last of Us (both games) for a couple of years, and here we are in 2022 and still nothing.

We don't know what the timeline will be for PS first party games to come to PC. The fact that ND had to change code in their engine in order to support PC doesn't reveal anything about when those games will actually be on PC. So whether you believe games will come day one, soon after, or long after, it is all entirely speculation. With that in mind, why do you think one person's speculation is any more "fan boyish" than another?
The ramp up needed to make a PC/PS5 pipeline is going to take some time. The decision to go forward with PC ports was recent (like within the last few years). No pipeline was ready for this jump immediately. GG engine was probably the closest to support and that's why we saw those games getting ported first.

My point is that once the pipeline is in place, there is no need to wait months or years to release the port. Some of you guys think that Sony will "hold off" on releasing the PC version and put it on the shelf until management feels sales slipping for a newly released exclusive title. That's what I claim as fan boyish because it's trying to negate the importance of the game after it's been out for awhile. It's the perfect tactic to continue the superiority complex in arguments here on these boards of 1st party Sony exclusives only being available on the PS platform initially.

No, you wave your PS cock around when an exclusive on the PS comes out.

Did I ever tell you a date? No, I didn't think so. Use your brain instead of your cock to determine that it would take some time to port an entire pipeline geared for one platform to make it support two.

Come on boy.
If Grubb is right, then Tlou 1 Remake will be released this year and will be announced pretty soon.

Are you ready to bet on an account ban that the game is announced at the same time as the PC version, and that it will be released on PC within at least a year after the PS5 version?

You may very well be right, but you are still speculating just as much as anyone else. I just don't get why you are getting combative because your personal speculation on how this all will come to fruition doesn't match up with others.

People in this thread don't even understand what Sony's CEO is talking about

About what everyone knew.

That games-services will be released at least on PC.
That Bungie games will be released on every platform they can.

That they literally have MLB coming out everywhere.

And that they want to release games on mobile devices

What is it that made people write 7 pages of shit already?)

You're what, 50 years-old? 😁 I own both platforms, and don't feel the need to impress PC superiority every time I type on a keyboard

Funny how your story keeps changing as and when needed. I guess you need better sources.

You're so comfortable playing with your "arguments"

Tell us all here and now.

Will Tlou 1 Remake be released on PC, at least half a year after the release on PS5, or not?

Tell us this and not yuli, game industry insider

Why are you all arguing about this all the time? More gamers enjoying the games means more praise when great games are released, more money for the devs to make even better games, less toxic discussions, and if we get PC versions we get games that are more future proofed and can look and run better. There is no downsides.

I can’t see where that concern comes from. Like Playstation will never stop selling because there is a PC version, no matter how improved it is. PC gaming is a whole other market with a whole other budget. The only thing that happens when there is a PC version is more games will be sold and games will get more talk and streams and less people will claim a game is crap simply because they can’t play it. Of course Sony want to be in on that.

lol Have you seen the state of multiplatform development in the last 5-10 years? The quality has taken a nose dive. Everyone chases the same fucking GaaS trends. EA, Activision, Ubisoft make better games than Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft? In what reality lol? Sony and Nintendo have dominated the GOTY awards. Third parties dont even try. When was the last time EA even released a single player game? 2019 Star Wars Fallen order? Activision just puts out mediocre CoD every year and they literally make $5 billion from COD and it hasnt improved COD. It's the same shit every year. Ubisoft is just straight up making trash after trash every year. They havent won a GOTY in over a decade. They dont even come close.

We have even seen first party quality take a hit ever since Sony and MS started shipping games on PC. GG last year spent 8 months fixing the mess that was the Horizon PC Port. That affected the quality of HFW which shipped with so many bugs, it took them 8 weeks and 9 patches to fix literally 50-100 bugs a week. Who is to say that the months fixing the PC port didnt take away resources from the PS5 version? I dont even know what happened with the PC version of Halo. It performs so poorly, I am convinced they didnt bother optimizing it on PC at all. Like WTF is the point of making games for PC if you wont even support PC features 3-4 years old.

These studios are not built to handle multiplatform dev. Even studios that continuously struggle to put games out on time in a polished state. They are far less ambitious than exclusives. Fornite, CoD, AC Creed, Fifa, GTA Online, PubG and whatever third party fad of the moment dont even get threads here because no one here wants to play those generic games. People want quality and there are literally 2-3 multiplat studios that are making those games. Rockstar, FromSoft and CD Project. Rockstar cant make more than 2 games a decade despite selling 150 million copies of GTA and making billions from GTA Online. CD Project made hundreds of millions from Witcher 3. It didnt help with Cyberpunk, did it? They were clearly overwhelmed by having to support the last gen consoles. The game runs more or less fine on PC. Wouldve been a great PC exclusive. Everyone's favorite Elden Rings shipped in a woeful state and is not fixed. How much money did they make? Why cant they fix the framerate? And these 3 studios are actually the good ones who make ambitious and goty caliber genre defining games.

There are many downsides.

You cherry pick and exaggerate throughout your whole post.

Why do you think Sony bought Nixxes? I’d say because they wanted the best PC porting studio in the industry to port their 1st party games into the best games in the industry.

I don’t think Sony’s 1st party devs will forget how to make great games because Nixxes is porting their games to PC.

Sony wants in on the 200+ million copies sold we see on Minecraft and the 10+ mil player count after like a week we saw on FH5. They obviously want the big figures, everybody want that, and to get there you can’t live in a bubble.

Can’t say I’ve had any bigger issues with multiplat releases, having a PC version with mod support as a backup plan has been pretty awesome tbh. As always with PC gaming you always have the choice to upgrade the hardware and tweak settings when the performance is bad. I’ve been playing multiplat Elden Ring in Ultra in 60fps 99.9% of my 90 hours. Meanwhile I dropped out of exclusive Bloodborne in a few hours because of the frame pacing stutters that has been there untouched since 2015.

If a walled off ecosystem warrior finds out a PC gamer (or even worse a competing console gamer) is playing the same game, their ear to ear grin suddenly turns to depression.

Kind of like the spoiled brats in grade school who brags about a new toy at school, but doesn't want anyone else to try it at recess. All happy when he's the only guy with it.

Then some other kids get it too for Christmas. Instead of playing together, the first kid suddenly feels like shit. The other kids dont even bother bringing the toy to school, so the first kid cant even see them playing it, but it doesn't matter. The brat feels bad because he thinks all day and night other people have the same toy

You're talking grade school mentalities here.

Lol okay but that kind of person always find some difference they can say makes their version better. Could be anything. They’ll survive.
Meanwhile normal people don’t care, they just want to play the games. Some buy new hardware to do it but most don’t, especially when it’s difficult to find consoles. I could imagine that a PC version of Returnal could’ve helped it reach a few millions, niche core game stuck on a small platform is a bad combo.

Interesting from where I stand it looks like it’s Sony thirsty for that PC gamer’s wallet.

By the way PC gamers don’t want Sony games. They want everything.
