Since Sony is releasing their games on multiple platforms now, it make sense for them to resurrect their dead portable franchises on Nintendo Switch

I don't believe it's all titles at all even though my contact said "PC is getting all the games." I interpreted that as the PC will have at least all the most popular exclusives. That's all I can tell you but I believe someone working for Sony Corp than you guys' insecure claims about the PC not getting the best of the exclusives.

I don't know what to tell you VFX, but your own fucking claim isn't even a "link" or a fact, but suddenly "my contact" lol Ok VFX. Suuuuuuuuuuure.

They don't have enough port teams to do "all the games" sir and their wait and see approach supports that it will be a selective process at least for this gen, I'm doubtful they'd make plans that far ahead without seeing more results as their purchases would have been more port teams like Aspyr if it was a "all da gamez" type plan.

So I'd believe factual statements by SONY, vs random NeoGaf user. Its even more sad as you fucking asked others for "links" , only to provide some fake info in return lol

Dude, after all these years of me starting the rumors about PS games coming to the PC starting with HZD, I have nothing else to say to you. If you are still doubting what my contact tells me then that's on you. I'm done with this arguing.

Those folks need to go look for those Wipeout PC adverts. Just scour some Next Generation magazine archives, they're there.
Don't forget Formula One!

Lol, "multi-platform" means PlayStation consoles and a small percentage of PC versions usually years later.

Sony won't be making Nintendo and Xbox games. The Show is the exception and Sony wouldn't do that if they could avoid it and still keep the MLB license.

I have to believe this is bait and that ArtHands ArtHands isn't actually this clueless.
I think its clear with their recent statements that they plan to start releasing games simultaneously on ps5 and PC, which pisses me off being a ps5 owner, because it means longer dev times and ps5 games getting out shined by the PC version. I don't like it but if I had a beefy PC I'd be annoyed by comments like mine. It feels like Sony is doing a disservice to ps5 owners.

With Sony outright declaring that they are going multi-platforms, I think this serves as a great opportunity to start resurrecting their dead portable franchises onto Nintendo Switch (which is slated to surpass PS4 sales worldwide).

There are several benefits for Sony here:

-They get more money from more sales. Playstation fans has already enjoyed those PSP games. Releasing them on Nintendo platforms means bigger sales opportunity since Nintendo fans haven't enjoy these games
-Exposure to these Playstation games means Nintendo Switch owners will be motivated to purchase a PS5 (just like how Playstation PC ports motivate PC players to buy a PS5)
-Old PS portable games such as Patapon or Resistance: Retribution gets another chance to shine. This time on Nintendo platforms (can be either enhanced HD remasters with much better gameplay and fun, or new game in the series)
-Switch is the market leader in Japan. Releasing them on Switch will allow Sony to reconnect to these Japanese players through Nintendo Switch platform

Its a win-win situation here for all parties. Sony gets more money, Nintendo fans get to play them, and more money to Sony means more development money to make games for Playstation fans.
I like your rationale.

I think its fair for ps5 owners to be salty if Sony starts putting out their exclusives day and date on PC. Own your feelings guys. We bought the ps5 thinking we'd be getting some of the best EXCLUSIVES. We didn't think we'd be waiting longer to get watered down versions of those games. That's what it will feel like if Sony goes fully multiplat.

I doubt this would happen. Switch is their primary competitor in Japan and has a huge chunk of the world wipe console market share, so helping them isn't in the interest of their main goal...which is to sell consoles. I could see MS doing something like this, as they are more concerned about their ecosystem that is spread far beyond just XBox consoles...but Sony and Nintendo still focus on their own playform brand above all else.

PC ports are still very late and MLB The Show was not a Sony move, but MLB forcing their hand.

I am not saying this would never happen, I am just not convicted we are even close to being there with Sony.

OP your deluding yourself if you think they are gonna port games to the Switch. MLB the Show they have to because of the licence.
Lmfao OP has just ran with the speculation.

They would make less money duh. They make more on their own platform.
It's like this is a hard concept for people to imagine even though Sony has been doing it for almost 3 decades and doing it extremely well. Buying a playstation means the customer buys into their ecosystem which translates into the customer buying more games on THEIR platform(s) that they are guaranteed to generate revenue from no matter what the user buys.

Well in fairness they want to become “more multi platform”. That to me means more than they are right now. So I’d expect to see the pc releases a lot quicker in all honesty.
For Live Service games, I can see that. For their tent-pole AAA single-player franchises, I don't.

Hopefully they get to a point where they're releasing some content on PC, Xbox, and Switch. That would be a good thing for Sony too. More money! I'm sure there would be an audience for TLOU, Uncharted, and a few other IP on Xbox. I might buy a few of their games as well.

What you have hasn't though. So quit acting like Sony is suddenly bringing all their games to Switch and Xbox.

When they start, let me know. Until then quit spreading nonsense.

Hence the thread. It should happen. I didn’t say they are suddenly bringing all their games to Switch and Xbox. They can take their time. Why so sensitive?

Just stop VFX, no one here is say NO PS GAMES will come to PC, simply this "all games" thing sound like complete bullshit and nothing to support it, even the very actions by Sony themselves don't support that they have this thing going to have ALL GAMES do that.

I'm sure the most popular will come, I'm sure they have plans to continue porting to PC, nothing I stated is fucking arguing against that, simply this claim of "all" is very easy fucking laugh at sir. Nothing supports this, even the very comments by Sony themselves. Even within their own fucking ecosystem we don't see "all games" ported from 1 system to the next ie PSP to PS Vita or PS3 to PS4, PS5 etc, so even if you told me a rumor from some source that some PS2 games would be ported, I'd believe you, a PS3 game ported....I believe you.

All games? The fuck? oh ALL? just stop man, no one is fucking buying that shit and it sounds too unbelievable as even actual 3rd party publishers don't port ALL GAMES to PC. So...its an easy ass claim to laugh at. If Sony bought more port teams, if their focus was getting this done by ending of the gen and the teams supported that theory, then shit I can get on board, but you asked for a link only to then give us your uncle works for Sony circus shit lol

No one said all. SOME. Something like the last guardian wouldn't be a good fit on Xbox. Tlou and uncharted would be. I would think the latter two could be ported to xbox. The last guardian no way. That didn't even sell on PlayStation!

Well, the precedent has already been set. The release between the PS5 and PC version of Uncharted Legacy of Thieves is just months apart. Besides, it is helping Playstation. These Switch owners will be buying a PS5 after playing those Playstation games on Switch.

"dead portable franchises" from sony? keep that shit away from everyone, even sony.

This.

A lot of those games didn't even get ported from 1 Sony system to the next, as to why anyone is holding their breath for a PC release of all games is beyond me.

Lucky we got a port to Patapon 1 and 2 and Loco Roco 1 and 2. I don't know how Patapon 1 and 2 remastered did for Sony, as expected 3 to be ported too and it seems like they are cutting their loses on that one. So....I have some doubt on this "all da gamez be ported" lol

I'd personally love that, but I'd never wait to play a game based on this as that shit might never get ported or take a long ass time to come or something. Who the fuck out here looking to wait 12 years to play a game? lol Save the time, buy a used PSP or PS Vita, have fun..move on. At the very least if someone sees it doesn't get ported generations later, they can at least know they got to play the game and enjoy it vs wait or something. Thats why I don't throw shit away with my systems. Some games are worth a remaster to revisit, some are not and not everything gets remastered and ported.

You think Uncharted or TLOU is coming to Xbox? Bwahaaahaaahaa!

By that same token some people still seem to think MS bought Activision for 90 Billion dollars just to leave all of it's games multiplatform.........something that has like 0.000001% chance of happening down the road.

Yah, its a smart move, because releasing those titles will entice Xbox players to buy a PS5.

What time is it?
They should port their games to run in Tesla cars which will entice EV drivers to buy a PS5.

God. Calm down already. They won't be releasing their games on PC on the first day. Forget.
I don’t know. I still think there is a chance that there will be some day one PlayStation games on PC. I could see multiplayer or live service games being day one on both platforms for example. I wouldn’t think that would be advantageous for the PS5 in anyway, but with current Sony, you never know.

I don’t think it will entice XBOX players to buy a PS5, but it will entice them to beg Sony to port more PlayStation games over to XBOX. Look at PC gamers with Bloodborne for example. Instead of just buying a PlayStation to play these Sony exclusives, they are waiting for more games to come to PC.

Though most folks seem to be laughing at your post, OP, I think it makes sense, though it's also probably an afterthought at this point. Like gasoline miners, I think they see the writing on the wall. Console gaming, as it has been for years, is probably on its way out. Most companies, perhaps including Nintendo, will soon become third parties to PC/Mobile, or even some TV system via local cable companies that allow homes to play games on their TVs through their cable box.

They are going to push their new subscription service with these games. It makes no sense releasing them elsewhere at the same time.

I am just going by what people said when Sony releases PS games on PC. They also made the image below too to explain how it works (I am not going to argue against it)

All games on pc and all day one games make total sense to me once the scarcity is over:

- They can get the full price and also sell addons later instead of just getting 49,99 for the Horizon Zero Daw Collection for example
- PC games profit from the massive console marketing --> much more sales on pc
- Some people are only interested in the latest games ---> more sales on pc
- Every sale on pc is digital, no costs for discs and logistics
- The risc of losing many people to pc is low. Lots of people don't like pcs, they prefer the convenience and the fire and forget feeling of a console. They are also cheaper.
- Pc owners who also buy a console most likely just get some exclusives and don't invest further into the eco system ---> would be better customers on pc

I am totally convinced that Sony would make much more money this way.
