Unfortunately making games doesnt happen overnight. Most of the studios have been bought over the last 2-3 years, and yeah thats not enough time for a lot of devs producing AAA games.
Delays suck but how many games launch these days on schedule?, not many. The second half of this gen will be flooded with games on Xbox, so let the concern trolls have their fun while they can.

Ah, so that's what they'll gen this gen. I was wondering if they were going to gen at all this gen. I'm happy to hear they'll be genning all gen.

In seriousness, I wonder why they basically told us all games coming out 4 or 5 years (or more) ahead of time. I guess it helps for years like 2022 where they have zero first-party games.

I mean, that's a nice list, but we can't speak to the quality of most of those games. We can't even know if any may get cancelled or rebooted to a point where it's just practically an entirely different game.

There's also no timetable for most of those games, in fact I'd say a lot of them were announced way too early (insiders leaking others didn't help).

Cool. My series s, which I love, is waiting.
Now how are they coming along, when can I play them?

Xbox one suffered massively from halo gears and forza. So showing these games, assures their fans, that they will get other games.

I personally don't like this method. But it's better than nothing. Helps to look for something in the future, if you don't like other games.

Exactly, they know what's coming.

Well, unless Microsoft changes it, that's how Activision has been running things. Even Toys for Bob is now just another Call of Duty support team.
Is Call of Duty the place where devs go to when they die? Like dogs and dog's heaven.

Man am I sad about Raven Software, they deserved better.

That is the fate for video games. We have no idea the end game for most games. Your favorite games could be canceled at anytime.

Though, this type of list is something for fans to look for.

They are basically saying, you will get these games if you buy xbox this gen.

Yeah, but the downside is we've been talking about games like Hellblade, Fable, etc year after year without even seeing meaningful gameplay or release dates.

I’m more interested in the unannounced and hopeful there are some surprises with near term release dates, id in particular as I think they are the most talented of the lot along with Playground.
Rare should really have more to show than Sea of Thieves and Everwild being seemingly on concept stage. They should have knocked out a 3D platformer or something unique.
TES6 will be a looong way out.
Not sure what Activision Blizzard had beyond what is known. They would have been a third part of the deal not made or falls through so I’m not really counting those as Xbox wins. I guess nice to know they will come to the platform if other platforms are dropped.

Man that starfield delay really did a number on some people.

that starfield delay has sent out shockwaves through the gaming industry
nice list BTW
If they had released other 2022 first-party games already or had others announced to be coming, it would have been much less of an issue.

But, Starfield (and Redfall, if anyone cared) was basically ALL of Microsoft's 2022.

Right now, Microsoft is touting GamePass as being a steal for only $180 for all of 2022 where you get every first-party Microsoft game, yet they have exactly zero now.

About the list... for me personally it's hard to get excited about it. The only game's I might be interested haven't been really shown, or even announced (Quake reboot pls).

Hopefully this changes on June the 12th, can't wait to get excited for some games.

More like perfectly healthy dogs that Activision takes to the woods with a shotgun.
Fuck em, really. I mean, good for the COD fans, but I've been missing sequels for games like Heretic or Soldier of Fortune like you wouldn't believe. Hopefully MS can do something about that, I remember them talking about "bringing back old franchises", but time will tell if those words are truth or just dust in the wind.

I hope MS stops that. I introduced my littler brothers to crash. They enjoy it.
It sucks that these studios would be support for call of duty.

They just punted an entire year. With the amount of studios they have it’s odd that have nothing to show for it for a year. I’m not concerned and gamepass PC has been fantastic imo, but they should be dropping games left and right and it just hasn’t played out like that. They need to drop some money and lock up some big 3rd party games for GP. Maybe hogwarts?

OP is really leaning into this, huh? I can't imagine people in general are worried about this. Or maybe I'm just out of touch.

The Showcase hasn't happened so far.

Most judgments would be useless after that showcase, if they announced some games for this holiday.

Their year rests on that show.

Agreed. Hogwarts is Sony’s marketing though, so they would ensure no Game Pass with that, at least not Day 1. I hope as a locked in GPU subscriber they find something for a third party that’s releasing later this year to put on the service.

That's why it's so odd people celebrate when Microsoft acquired previously independent publishers.

They now fall under Xbox's management who frankly has had a very difficult time getting projects out in a timely manner (or at all before being scraped completely) since basically Phil Spencer took over. Which is odd, since they were running so well the first several years of the 360.

Just imagine the lack of games Xbox would have had they not bought Bethesda and possibly Activision.
That is a major oversight from their end.
I would have loved, if they did Sony approach.
Partner with 3rd party studio for exclusive games.
That would have offseted their draught.

Words of wisdom and just about the only sane take on all this.

The fact that they announced games 5 years ahead of release and continue to show those same games year after year, makes it difficult to be confident that this upcoming show will have stuff that will be coming out in the near-future (2022).

But, yeah, we will see soon.

Please add Call of Duty _____ 12 to 15 times to the list.

They do release some other stuff too. I'm not a CoD multi-player player, but the last few campaigns have looked interesting to me (even if the CoD die hards didn't seem to like them much). I'd definitely take a look cold war if it gets added to GP. Maybe we'll see them do a crash like remake for another early 3d franchise. I thought the insane collection was great.

Yeah, Spyro was well done too. I don't think they sold great though, nor Crash 4. As of now Toys for Bob is a CoD support team.
