Please without dwelling on the topic of his email, and discussing Jim Ryan performance as the SIE CEO and where he is taking PlayStation as a brand. Do you think he deserves to get sacked and get replaced with a younger more inline with the times CEO?

Sacked in the morning ?

Yes. I deserve to be the CEO.
I know how to run business. It's unfair that Jim Ryan has a monopoly to run SIE, without a challenge. Look at what he did to SIE.

My blue brothers are suffering under him. We have to end his reign.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
lol, no.

CEO level folks can say whatever they want and never get in trouble, his email today is just going to be a point of discussion for a day or two then fade away into obscurity.

Sony as a company don't care about stuff like that is my guess. If he worked at Microsoft, however, he would totally be gone. No questions asked.

If he gets in trouble, there's always the "sell to Microsoft" escape route 😂

Jokes aside, remember that Jim Ryan's bosses are not in San Mateo. I'm not quite sure Kenichiro Yoshida is quite as polarized as americans are about this specific issue.

That being said, whatever side you may be on the issue, he approached it in a particularly dumb way. This was controversy waiting to happen and I'm surprised he didn't see it coming. 🤷‍♂️

Wait… people on twitter/etc. (who tend to be liberal) are upset about respecting the opinion of others regarding abortion. Lol wut.

A PR campaign, and dumb people will forget about it.
People already don't know who Jim Ryan is.

Internally they could use it as an opportunity to replace him, you never know, he is not the face of PlayStation and he doesn't try to be.

The way Shawn Layden left suggests there is some power struggle within Sony.

We have the stable, modern world we live in today because people are able to set aside religious, political, and cultural differences to work together and do business.

So yes, respecting differences of opinion is critical to business carrying on. And saying as much does not imply that someone is on a particular side of a wedge issue.

Good grief. I'm guessing you have to be pro-baby murder to not get canceled?
The issue come up at the wrong time.

There is a battle that is going on now. So people won't think rational. Any anger would stem from their rage, about these decisions.

I blocked myself from mainstream news. So I don't follow with these stuff alot.

I changed my wording as it's political and those rules (although I feel pretty strongly on the issue), but it's absolute bullcrap that people with right-leaning views on these subjects are being treated like bad people and persecuted.

He doesn't even have a right-leaning view apparently. He is probably some old dude trying to move on from this sort of thing interfering with his business.

Sony is also has a massive global presence and the world ain't like the US with this abortion obsession.

I have to disagree on that part.

We really don't have stable world. We are on thin thread, which keeps us on balance.
The more these "respect differences " comes up, the more people will feel empowered, and look down on others.

Right now, you are not allowed to call your friends lazy as a joke, if you are working together. I got in trouble with the manager and the supervisor. They had a talk with me about that.

You have to be really careful what to say, in order to not offend anyone.

Where is the fucking e-mail? unless we can see what it is, this is a non-issue and should be treated as such.

Its me vs you scenario.
I was stuck on that world for a while.

The difference now, is that those same people, are doing exactly what they were against.

When you give illiterate people power, they will abuse it for themselves.

Did you post this ten or fifteen years ago? Because that used to be the goal and the world we lived in.

But, at some point, it's turned into "agree with this or else" even when it should be completely unrelated.

Wasn't it always the right-wing who was against abortion because religion?
It was most people that were against abortion because of what it is. Abortion is a really hard sell for the general population, I'm not religious at all and I completely understand where people are coming from.

You should really add context, had no idea what this was about.

Regarding if he should be sacked, no idea but I don't care about any of these senior execs.
