Update on the New PlayStation Plus:

Update: We’re making fantastic progress with our launch efforts and I wanted to update you on the
latest. We’re rolling out our new offering for PlayStation Plus a little earlier in select markets in Asia,
followed by Japan. Here is a look at our updated regional rollout schedule.

  • Asia markets (excluding Japan) – targeting May 23, 2022
  • Japan – targeting June 1, 2022
  • Americas – targeting June 13, 2022
  • Europe – targeting June 22, 2022
Additionally, we’re also expanding our cloud streaming access to the following locations for a total
of 30 markets with cloud streaming access**. The following markets will also offer the Premium tier
from PlayStation Plus at launch: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland,
Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

We’ve been working on this massive global effort to provide flexible options, quality games and
greater value for our members for quite some time now – and we’re just a few weeks away from
our first regional rollout. We want to thank our PlayStation community for the ongoing support, and
we’ll have more to share as we get closer to launch. For more information, including pricing for your
local market, please visit our website at https://www.playstation.com/en-us/ps-plus/

Kinda weird that the smallest markets will get it first.
That's actually typical.

PS Video Pass is also something exclusive to Poland i think.

That said...i'll always love the fact we in Portugal got PSNow so early. I have no idea how that happened, lmao.

About that update, interesting. We may be getting more info soon if in a month from now the service starts to rollout!

Nice surprise. When Jimbo first mentioned staggered rollout, I was expecting October/November for Europe. The fact it's all within a month is good.

Depends on what it is.

Something like video game servers might be tested first in small regions.

But then something like day one Call of Duty is rolled out everywhere at the same time.

Then for corporate enterprise systems, every one I've been part of rolls it out first in the US (biggest market), then other regions get it later. So the complete opposite of video game tests.

?

Dude is arguing they'll expand the service without using PS3 blades, I'm asking how, what is hard to understand about it?

So they'll either expand the streaming without PS3 games (only thing that is useful about their streaming service) or they are running these games on an emulator but not making them native for some reason. Sony looks terribly incompetent in all scenarios.

I think you misread my post...i never said anything like this.

I just said PS Plus is a lot more than just streaming PS3 games. You can stream everything. It's not just about "find Cell processors" to have streaming in those countries.

Everything except PS3 games then? You are the one who doesn't seem to be understanding.

The only reason people care about their cloud stream availability is because it's the only way to play the PS3 games.

The only explanations for Sony to be taking so long to expand their cloud service is that it either requires exotic hardware or they are extremely incompetent, likely both.

Nothing on the pricing for PS Now for PC?

There is no PSNow for PC.

There is an app for PC where you can stream games, that's it.. so you'll need to buy the PS+ highest tier and get streaming, but have to pay for access to games you can't play w/o a playstation.

The new pricing "tiers" are actually less flexible than the separate offering.

Oh so no one uses this to stream PS games on PC? I have friends that have done it...

Saying the only reason people care about streaming games is PS3 games is...not it.

In fact at first everything on PS Now was streaming for every generation of games. The download option came later.

I will only sub if its $10 and includes all the first party PS5 games released so far. Been wanting to replay Demon Souls again. I bought Returnal again but Demon Souls doesnt go on sale. GT7 would be 3 months old by then. I expect that game to be available too.

They dont have to do day one launches but games need to be treated like movies were back in the day. 3 months after theatrical release, they become available on DVD.

Yes, almost no one uses it, specially on the PC. We know that by how extremely unpopular PS Now was (and those numbers included people that were trying to play PS3 games on PS4/PS5).

They are also working on a native PS3 emulator, though I take your point that this will be some time before it releases so alternative measures must be sought.
Are they? They never publicly acknowledged this problem. It's no a new problem, it's a problem that has existed (at least on their backend) for almost 10 years now, ever since they came up with PSNow as a "solution" to the lack of backwards compatibility.

They definitely have or will have an internal one at least. Something will have to replace those Cell blades down the line.

Might not see it until a PS5 Pro or PS6. however.

It's still the same company that took years to "solve" the problem of users being unable to change their names, you can never just assumr that they will do what makes the most sense. They could just as easily simply remove all PS3 games from the service down the line.

You need to get off the rock. They've already outlined pricing and shit and here you go spewing more nonsense wrapped in your own reality.

We were testing it. Also I think it is due to Portugal having really high speeds and no caps.

Yeah there's no way sony are going to cut off the legs of their games by putting it on the service so soon. Its going to be a year at minimum. You ain't getting gt7 or horizon 2 until atleast early next year.

I have Plus until 4/23 and Now until 4/24. Do we have any information if/how these will stack for users once this kicks off?

There still isn’t anything around that can fully replicate CELL running at PS3 max speed. Those SPUs are crazy even til now.

You're making zero sense.

If people only care to stream PS3 games, does that mean every other streaming service is completely pointless?
