I'd say 95% of PS fans posting on Neogaf have expressed that gamepass is bad for those reasons listed above. So that's why I don't see this being successful. Unless those criticisms of Gamepass weren't genuine.

Oh you may be right there. I stand corrected. I didn't know as I only had subscribed to GP ultimate.what? That’s not how comparisons work. plus, I’m pretty sure you don’t need game pass ultimate to get day 1 games so I think you’re wrong there?
Theres certain DLC's i think that are available free only with GPU. Gears Hivebuster DLC comes to mind.Oh you may be right there. I stand corrected. I didn't know as I only had subscribed to GP ultimate.
Pretty sure you can share you Gamepass library anyway across two consoles.MY biggest annoyance out of that list (excluding the day one games) is that Nintendo do a family plan! I did not realise this.
I would pay a few extra quid a month for a family plan so my daughter can use it on her xbox (she rarely plays so I'm not buying another subscription).
Ryse isn't a console seller, but it was a dumb fun graphic demo like Godfall was for ps5.
To be fair, the time I played on my ps4 for a short duration of time a year ago i didn't notice any problems, whereas I suffered a minor problem logging in with game pass one or two times where the problem lasted only 5 minutes but were still annoying (on pc and game share so couldn't log in)xbox has the best online service since the 360 era, no need to do comparisons.
‘Which one has Sony games?’Which one has Bloodborne, God of War, Returnal and other games like that?
I agree. Considering everyone had cloud saves on xbox 360It crazy that they still charging for cloud saves in 2022
You can yup.Pretty sure you can share you Gamepass library anyway across two consoles.

And it costs same amount of money.
Not really. The meat and potatoes is the Xbox One/Series and PS4/5 offerings.PS Plus is just worse Game Pass. Catalogue of third party games without day one first party games. And knowing Sony, they won't even have their first-party as permanent additions to the catalogue. And it costs same amount of money.
Wow thanks for that, ill look into it when im home!Pretty sure you can share you Gamepass library anyway across two consoles.

Since I can get Game Pass Ultimate for 3 years for 181$ it's not really a valid point isn't it, right?Edit: Disregard. I misunderstood your post. Good info.
On an annual basis the price for PS+ is much less.
Is that a permanent offer, or could Microsoft pull it tomorrow?Since I can get Game Pass Ultimate for 3 years for 181$ it's not really a valid point isn't it, right?

Well, since I used it yesterday I really don't care rn. So I paid 181$ for 3 years of GPU vs. 360$ for 3 years of PS Plus You can do the math.Is that a permanent offer, or could Microsoft pull it tomorrow?
I have gamepass ultimate , a series x and ps5 console and I’m planning to get the top tier ps+ subscription as well. Personally I feel ps+ will be much more valuable to me because let’s face it, Sony has a long history of great exclusives that you can play on their service while, let’s be honest, Xbox first party games are not great. Even the latest games you can see the user base going down quickly and I got bored with halo as well after like 2 hours. Maybe ms has great games in the future but they’re not there yet and the quality of the games in gamepass is largely average at best. While the library of ps+ will be both larger and higher quality. Only difference with ms is that ms have first day release of their exclusives but that’d only be valuable if they’d be really good. Maybe in the future they will, but they’re not there yet now.Well, since I used it yesterday I really don't care rn. And tbh, Game Pass Ultimate even at 180$ per year provides much more value then PS Plus at 120$ considering fact that I just last year saved up much more because I wanted to buy Outriders, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite and The Ascent day one but I didn't need to thanks to Game Pass. And this year it will be A Plague Tale: Requiem, STALKER 2, Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Deathloop at minimum
This is a stupid take. The real big thing is: All three charge you to use the internet you already pay for.
Nintendo isn't giving you modern games either, and is actually more expensive when you factor in you can get PS+ or Xbox live for a discounted rate on ebay.
Ps plus and gamepass are the basically the same thing minus day 1 games for ps plus. Though I hear sony are putting much newer games like returnal on there. If they add more like ratchet and demons souls, then i would subscribe. Let's not forgot 3rd party either. Sony will try to make deals with them too.
Normally I'd agree with you but millions of gamers want a PS5 that dont have one yet. PlayStation + Extra tier will be a Godsend and save me money on day 1 as I dont have a PS5 yet hopefully by the time the service launch I do and wont need to buy all the games I want to catch up on. For hard core gamers who got the console day 1 and purchased all the games they've wanted and easily still able to keep up won't need this.
You got Gamepass for like 6 games?
This is a stupid take.
They aren't charging you for you Internet connection. Theycre charging you for using their servers. And those servers do not come cheap. Go ask any server mod (who is involved in actually technically running it).
Nothing is truly free. The sooner you realise this; the better.
Ultimate is more expensive yearly, considerably more so.I honestly cannot believe that’s ps+ premium is more expensive than gamepass ultimate and doest even offer a discount on first party titles. Tight bastards
This is a silly argument. The vast majority of people are going to get these as monthly. Not buy a yearly thing.Ultimate is more expensive yearly, considerably more so.

And anyway. It’s not really as you can find deals for gamepass ultimate if you are smart…..
Erm...And this year it will be A Plague Tale: Requiem, STALKER 2, Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Deathloop at minimum
It's not even a matter of being smart, MS officially advertises Gold to GPU conversion on Xbox.com
So essentially you can get 1 year of GPU for $60 + $1.
I wouldn't say the "advertise" it. If you look in the FAQs on the support page you'll find it there.
Yea at the current priceNot true on the PlayStation side and frankly I doubt that is true for Xbox gamers either. Jim Ryan said more than 2/3 PlayStation gamers subscribe annually. That just makes sense as it is a much better deal than paying monthly.
I got 3 years for £81. With that trick

I wouldn’t take that as the gospel when it comes to £100. I know lots of people who won’t pony up £100 on one go. They might pay monthly though.

I'd rather pay a relatively cheap subscription for the product directly than encourage more microtransactions. This is correct, though the server bills in many cases would be easily covered by MTX profit.
This is still a small risk for MS compared to what Nintendo's and Sony's games are worth in therms of popularity.Uh what? I'm talking specifically about the value of adding first party games day one. Obviously there's added value elsewhere.
Lmao. How do you think people buy houses and cars???!! The average user is not going to pay £100 lump sum every single year. Monthly payments are more manageable. Even if it means paying monthly. At a higher price there is even more incentive to pay annually. Why do you think people would want to actually pay more money out of their pocket by paying monthly? That makes no sense at all.
They will push for microtransactions anyway, we have as much in paid games than in mobile games.I'd rather pay a relatively cheap subscription for the product directly than encourage more microtransactions.

Do this math: If you are a new user, and sub to PS plus: How many games become available? Now: If you sub to GP: How many on that case?
Thats the other little big difference.
None?Which one has Bloodborne, God of War, Returnal and other games like that?
