Waiting for articles and threads:

"What Gamepass needs to do to catch up to PS+"

"Will Gamepass ever reach PS+ numbers?"

"How can MS compete with PS+ that has a 2x lead on Gamepass?"

🤣

Those subs are fine and dandy and I have both Plus and GP, but face it, the very best games, imo, you won't find on these day one.

This year, Elden Ring, GT7, Horizon 2, Ghostwire. None of these hit those services. I bought 2 of them, and kind of on the fence for Ghostwire while I suspect Horizon 2 _might_ be on Plus tier 2/3 by summer at the earliest.

so why is it a brilliant move? so to counter do Microsoft just add xbox gold to the numbers to fudge it to?

Something you might not know: PS Now was never available outside a select of countries. Now This PS+ Extra/Deluxe is at least available download-based and I've said that many times before that one would've helped PS Now if it was available outside streamable countries. You SHOULD expect a growth there because it was literally impossible to have PS Now here and wanted to try it so I can play Ace Combat there for example.

Also Xbox doesn't have a local market here, no Arabic support as I'm aware of. Most people here avoid AAA games that need understanding English, that's why games that have extensive localization like AC games, Uncharted, and many similar games have a worldwide success instead of just US/UK success.

PS+ in Oman PS Store is $49.99, PS5 games are $72 after VAT, PS4 games are $60-63 after VAT (5%). You sometimes find cheaper deals than the US store, which is famous worldwide to be the best store overall price-wise. I use a US account though. Indies seem to be cheaper in the Omani store as well.

Because of that, there are no Xbox vendors, and most of them are US-market if you find any. You might take this lightly, but this is something pretty big and why PS is so dominant worldwide, along with having the best games.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
As those PS1/PS2/PSP games are going to be downloadable do you think you can actually buy them too without the subscription?
I'm trying to understand the situation here as you already have access to PS2 Classics
What's different here?
Clearly PSX & PSP are new.
But are these titles gonna be different to the ones available and locked behind the Premium Subscription?

Exactly like the psnow that's been around since 2014 a subscription service that offered cloud gaming way before any other constructor...So innovative that it took them most of a gen to finally be able to follow.
Now maybe stop the revisionism.
psnow didn't innovate anything they bought two company that was doing that and changed the name of it ...gaikai and onlive

But they should be. I don't see any reason why every game ever made, plus every new game to be released, can't be on a subscription service from day one. The age of paying money for a single game would end overnight if people could play it on their subscription service of choice on day one.

I'm at a loss as to why this isn't an option yet.

More info on PS classics which is exiting:

--As for this new offering of the classic game, are there any additional features from the original version, such as support for higher frame rates, etc.?

Jim Ryan: More details to come, but I've heard from people who have played with it that it looks great on PlayStation 4 and 5. But it will depend on the title of the game.

Bryank75 Bryank75 You should be proud of good old Jimbo, he's seen the light of classic games.

There was gaming streaming before psnow that's the point. If we want to be pedantic I could tell you that I am not aware of any "all you can eat" service in the gaming market ala gamepass before Ms introduced it but maybe I'm wrong. Feel free to correct me
Ps now once again was a subscription service allowing to play a selection of games and a few years before gamepass.

Not really...the way he says "I've heard from people who have played with it that it looks great on PlayStation 4 and 5." says it all. He just couldn't give a damn about this.
But yeah...at least they are giving us this.

Yeah, it was called Onlive, followed by PSNow
I'm not talking about streaming. Ps Now was an absolutely unsuccessful service precisely because it was only streaming.....Sony tried to fix things ... by allowing some games to be downloaded but gamepass was out there proving the difference.
Xcloud = Psnow
Sony still today it has nothing really comparable to gamepass (not even the new ps +)

You're talking about an "all you can eat" service.

Onlive had that

PSNow has that

The form of delivery is irrelevent
You need to understand : cloud gaming =/= not innovation but downloading games == true innovation.I fail to get the logic there just like to me streaming is more an all you can eat buffet since you don't have to download(bring the food home) so it works even better with its own metaphor.
But sure he will argue that success or delivery method are relevant when they are not .Just like any service where you could go into a store of which you are a member and if they let you take any game you wanted it would've worked too.But yeah it is hard to keep your head cool when you are blinded by confirmation bias.

Stop moving the goal post. You asked was there anything before game pass that gave you an all you can eat service. Onlive and PSNow is your answer.
and again streaming isn't what gamepass is doing stop being obtuse. Psnow was basically Onlive with some ps games available in some regions that's it. Gamepass is a day one release service with an instant library where you can choose how and where to play.
Psnow was just xcloud less day one releases
the new ps+ is the old ps+ with psnow added

There wasn't anything like gamepass before of it ...in the gaming industry
Sure keep repeating yourself, it will truly show the value of each point you brought that has been proven wrong. But I guess when you have nothing else it is still better than nothing. You know what would be a good thing too?
Admiting you were wrong and that it was not innovative but iterative at best.Especially when everybody pointed that Psnow works exactly in the context of your posts ...Before you moved the goalpost as usual.

This is false. They don’t know that. They didn’t say anything about the pc version of now.

There is no PC specific subscription for PSNow, currently anyway. Just a PC app that works with a standard PSNow sub. The price is doubled for streaming access after the announced changes. We'll see if they announce something further.
