Got the day booked to build my new PC......

Bit of a stealth brag because I'm hyped but also a place I'd like to ask a question for the PC crowd, if that is ok?

I think I have it sussed with my case and cooler but I'm hoping that someone who has used multiple Corsair RGB controllers can chime in.

My case is the new 5000T and the cooler is the H150i ELITE LCD. The case has a commander controller which I will be running three LL120s from the front of the case and an extra rear exhaust LL120 fan I've purchased to add. The cooler has three ML 120s and its own controller with power for the LCD and two USB 2.0 cables and a splitter cable to turn the USB into 1 plug. Looking at my commander for the case it has a single USB in. I guess I will just use the extension to make the two USB headers from the pump into 1 and feed this into the cases controller, then run the main case controller USB 2.0 to my motherboard header and this will work? I think I have it sussed.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Anyway, so stoked to get into this but I am seriously getting anxiety over the cable management due to my OCD. It looks crazy in the rear of this case already! :D

Build is as follows:

Case - Corsair 5000T
Intel i9 12900K
Corsair H150i Elite LCD - Roof mounted (Exhaust)
Asus Maximus hero Z690
Corsair Dominator 32GB 5600MHz DDR5 dual channel
MSI RTX 3080 Gaming Trio X from my current build
Seagate 1tb Firecuda 530 (System Drive)
WD Black SN850 2TB - (Game drive)
Intel 670P 1tb pci 3.0 (General purpose)
Corsair RM1000X - PRO PSU Cable Kit - Black braided cables.

Need to come up with a name......Maybe "SHADOW".

Wish me luck and please think of me for the first time I press the power button!

Nice build. I would skip the case fan controller if you have enough ports on the commander. There should be a plug to hook the aio into the commander and then they will all be controlled from the h150i device in the icue software. Your gonna wish you went with lian li modular fans once your playing with all the cable from those fans though, I know I was ;)

Thats the plan but I admit im a bit of a noob and not sure how to do it haha.

Do i just host them on an imaging site or something then upload to here?
You can just upload pictures from your phone on the mobile NeoGaf site. Relatively easy. It's the "+ image" button at the bottom of the reply box.

unfortunately I have to use both controllers becuase I have 7 fans. 4 LL120s and 3 ML 120 Elites on the cooler. Yeah Im hating the cabling already lol! What is it with these fans haha, Hopefully the RGB goodness will be worth it.

I just recently got the H150i as my first AIO, didn't want to fork out for the Elite version though!

That's a monster build, only thing left is what monitor are you using?

Just remember to connect the Power SW and Reset SW to the motherboard.
and connect your monitor to the GPU not the motherboard :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Easy to assemble, but a total pain if some part is doa and you have to troubleshoot it.
i tried upgrading my PC a while back. new CPU, motherboard, RAM, new PSU. the PC would crash constantly and i spent weeks trying to figure it out. swapped out PSU with my old one, tried my old RAM, and even got amazon to replace the motherboard. nothing worked so i ended up having to return the motherboard + RAM. tried returning the CPU + PSU but the site i bought them from wouldn't accept a return so i had to sell them. i was almost £300 down but the whole "upgrade" was worth about £1,100 so it could've been much worse i suppose.

i love my PC when it works which honestly is most of the time but when it doesn't it's a fucking pain the ass especially when each part is worth hundreds of pound each. i'm going to use my PC as long as i can but i'm going back to console once something breaks. i'm too old for this shit now lol.

Building a PC these days is as easy as assembling a LEGO set. If someone struggles with it... well good luck with anything really. :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Until you have to troubleshoot it, it's a pain in the fucking ass.

Doesn't boot? Could be the CPU, ram or motherboard that's faulty.

Pure stress.

It's pretty simple these days even cheap boards tend to have leds around the board that will stay on if something isn't working, there's normally one somewhere near the ram, one near the cpu socket and another one or 2 lower on the board for pcie failures. More expensive boards have an led that will show error numbers and the manual will tell you what the codes mean.

If I knew I could get a video card retail I would probably do a new build. My current rig is, frankly, fine for all but a couple very high end games, but it's about 3 years old so there are some definite gains to be had.

Might try my luck when the 4000 cards drop.

The LEDs are absolute B.S. in my experience.

My previous mobo told me EITHER my CPU, RAM or VGA card were faulty, depending on which light or error code it decided to flash.

It turned out the entire motherboard was faulty.

When a console breaks you can replace the part that broke or even know what it's broken?

Assuming you’re not doing this today, I would instead slowly build the PC over a few days giving you plenty of time to troubleshoot issues and downloading/installing software while you’re doing something else. Sometimes builds can take a long time even with small issues.

Instead, book a day to enjoy a completed PC.

As easy as it is, it's still fun putting it together and knowing it's "your" creation. That personalization is worth the experience imho. So much more satisfying than buying "off-the-shelf".

I fully agree. I'm just poking at people who claim that this some kind of difficult and troublesome process. I think it's fun and rewarding.

I honestly don't know how anyone who owned a half-decent PC in the last decade can be "impressed" with PS5 loading times. On a basic bitch SSD huge open-world game like Cyberpunk 2077 loads from main menu to gameplay in 6 seconds. :messenger_grinning_sweat:
And I honestly can't see how anyone who owned a half-decent PC in the last quarter of the century can NOT be impressed with how fast games load on a ps5.
PC's have ssds for last decade. But never and still don't really have direct IO integration. All that nvme speeds were never used.
That cyberpunk will load as fast from normal 10 years old sata ssd compared to fastest nvme

I'm sorry to be "that guy"

Since I own every current gen console including the PS5 and a pretty "decent rig" containing a RTX 3080, 5900x, 32GB of 4000Ghz Corsair dominator with 2x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro m.2 the PS5 continues to impress for gaming.

This is largely due to the fact many of the first party games are designed to take the faster SSD into account and therefore have specific design decisions based around taking advantage of this... vs PC which some might go "oh but what if the dude has an SSD!" But certainly feels like an overwhelming majority just design around an HDD (can you blame them) and if I get faster load times that's great but there no where near close to PS5 levels...

So yes the PS5 impresses... which anyone in my position of owning everything would well know...

"That" Cyberpunk will also load a lot faster on PC compared to native PS5 app. Like twice as fast. Seriously, man. Fast loading times are only impressive if you're upgrading from PS4 to PS5 and never had a computer in your life. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

More power to you. I'm also that guy with a decent PC with 3080, Series X and PS5.

I'm not impressed. I platinumed Forbidden West and not once were I impressed by how amazing the loading times are. It's all comparable to other open-world games on PC.

To add to your other point: I'm just happy that SSD is now standard on consoles so more games will be designed around it.

I'm just going to point out that the devs have already said they purposefully slowed the load times so that people could read the tool tips...

Take that with a pinch of salt of course but other games such as ratchet and clank allow me to easily believe that.

They did. There's an option in settings where you can disable tool tips to make the game load as fast as possible. It loads super fast when you fast travel in the same "BIOME". But when you travel from one side of the map to another it's just okay. Nothing to be super impressed about.

Fun does not, not equal hell
Next gen was over a year ago when Demons souls loaded in 2 seconds and Astro made me feel a game with my hands. PCs are still catching up. Maybe now that IO is released
lol, no. Good try though. Loading and Vibration aren't next-gen features. Let me know when you have full control over your settings and can swap out your components for better ones. Talk about next gen, I can do whatever I want on my PC, including create content. I can't do that on my console. PC isn't catching up to shit, however, the console needs these features to keep their head above water. 2-10 second load-times aren't really bothersome to most, but I can see how it matters so much to a console warrior considering GTA V, Doom, and various other larger games took over a minute to load on the console. I've never had those issues on PC. Not with an SSD anyway.

I have a full control over my settings and components. It's called a fucking pc and I had ton of them for past 25 years.
I dont want console to be a pc. The box for 400$ is a fantastic performer and the fact it included tech like direct IO not actually done on pc yet is crazy.
Keep on praising that pc life and be blind to it's faults especially with current pricing.
But leave consoles alone.

I am a huge pc fan. I always had pc and I always will probably. Does not make me blind and oblivious everything that's annoying or bad with it. Cmon
I have a pictured chronicle history folder dedicated to history of all my pc builds since I was a kid. I always built my computers myself aside from very first one.

Yet all the time I still see people claiming I don't know shit about pc gaming because I am not sucking it's dick all the time lol
edit: Only people who deeply know pc gaming, know really how much of a hell it can be lol. You know when you know kind of a deal. Ask any IT guy at your work. They will hate "the fucking" pc's but obviously not literally.
