Grand Theft Auto 5 PS5 Version Gameplay - Peformance RT

They clearly don’t respect the consumer. It’s too easy for them. If they did have any regard then this and the Trilogy offering would of been a better effort. Time and again in this industry if there is a hesitation for such a substantial period to up until release to show consumers the product something isn’t right and it’s rare that situation ends up being a pleasant surprise.

Which begs the question, why make a product when the end result is hesitating to show something you expect people to buy?

Because they know people will buy it and I don’t mean to have a pop at people for doing so, it’s that this could of been something better than what is. They have no regard for the consumer. It really shows.

You can already play the game on PS5 and Xbox without this release for those that have yet to try it.

Now that’s it out , a few weeks will pass and there will be talk on YouTube, Twitter etc about updates and waiting for them to come out just like the Original Trilogy.

I find it extremely disappointing they couldn’t even add the new radio stations into single player

This port is awesome for 10 bux. Last year I bought a 3k gaming pc with rtx 3080 ... and I can't tell the difference.

I don't give a flying fuck about "pc modz" but seriously for 10 bux you ain't getting a better deal.

Sure the textures look dated and the texture filtering should be like 16x pc but it runs buttery smooth and looks crisp. I been playing gta3 since Sept 2013...

Make the ps3 version look like trash.

I am glad I sold the pc last year for 300 profit.

Fuck the haters.

For less than the price of a medium doner kebab (£8.75) and when I never actually bought GTA V on the PS4, this is a great deal for buyers like me, regardless of whether or not Rockstar sleptwalked their way developing this port.
After seeing this in action I regret paying $10…

You don’t need to use mods to play this at 60 FPS on PC. This should have been a free upgrade, especially when you consider how much they will make off shark cards and DLC.

I don’t like what Rockstar has turned into …

Watching this comparison, PS5 is pristine compared to pc 4k ultra. The iq is much improved with no shimmer or jaggies.

Massive shadow improvement and reflections in puddles etc over ultra PC, now stable without jitter. They have done work here, but it’s all computational- no asset improvements.

At least you’re getting a full game for the $10. Sony charges the $ as an upgrade or you’re paying $70 for the full thing.

I do not know if this has been mentioned yet: But from what I know GTA V E&E is Rockstars first title that has proper 7.1 Audio support (tested on PS5). Not even RDR2 has native 7.1 output (only 5.1). However, idk about the Trilogy.

If you are wondering why 7.1 is so special: It really is not. Basically every stupid indy game since the PS3 era supports 7.1 audio output. So Rockstar has finally arrived in 2005/2006. Fun Fact: Music is still only limited to 5.1.

Auto-aim on! 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ Freaking casuals and baddies...
I will absolutely never understand this logic that a lot of people have, about lock-on targetting system = casual.
I personally find the action of aiming manually with a controller extremely boring, especially if it's a cover based system game, it just means... hide, aim, shoot, hide, aim, shoot, it's just tedious, repetitive and boring.
I'm not saying GTA V gunfight is particularly great, but games with a lock-on aiming system are to me much more fun because it leads to more action, being more focused on your movements instead of your aiming and such.

I would actually really like if more games using targetting systems like this, it really doesn't necessarily mean easier, you could tune the challenge according to that type of gameplay, with more ennemies, more complicated patterns etc.
Aiming manually for hours with a controller = pure boredom to me.

Just gave it a whirl on PS5 in performance raytracing, very crisp. The big standout is how much better the controls feel, a lot less latency. Even the first person mode is totally playable.

On what kind of screen do you play? How can anyone seeing that blurry mess be like "oh yeah, that's so CRISP"? :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Ehh? 85” display.

Wait, Lol, keep trying. Just get a next gen console for the definitive gtav version if it helps you get some sleep. 😂

Definitive version that can't run at native 4k in 60FPS and is paired down compared to 2015 PC version in areas that matter the most (traffic density, LOD handling, draw distance). Dude, you're hilarious. A true comedian.

I've already bought it on PS5 but I think I will also buy it on Series X to send Rockstar a message that console players are happy with this kind of DEFINITIVE treatment. :messenger_grinning_sweat: :messenger_grinning_sweat: :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Looks like consoles have the choice between crisp 30 fps or blurry 60 fps. PC still king.
I run the game maxed out on pc and I'd say the performance RT on PS5 looks better all around. The raytraced shadows add real depth to the city and it doesn't look remotely blurry to me... unless you mean with DoF effects on? volumetric clouds look fantastic too, as well as some other nice little effects added. It's a richer presentation overall.

no amount of tweaking and modding on PC ever solved the issues I had with shadows, texture lod and shimmering on transparencies (even with supersampling)

Did you use the triggered emoji? Not sure there is a big one enough for you. 😂

If you have the PS5 version then enjoy and don’t cry so much. X

You're clueless. You can crank that bitch up to x8 MSAA. Imagine quality on PC is pristine. There's also option for Nvidia TXAA.

Why would I care about pc? Or anyone for that matter?

Does it fix the last gen shadows? Relax, you can always do mods on your pc. 😂 you must love mods. Now perhaps stop detailing a PS5 gta rt thread with your inferiority complex.

You can remove the blurry DOF seen in the background on console. First thing I did. The game is quite sharp actually on console, surprisingly so (I only play at 60fps). Textures have being obviously remastered from the PS4 version. I'd say it's the high resolution textures from PC.

More action/control over your character = more boring/less fun/less action??? If more automatized controls = less boring/more fun, by your logic, auto movement, auto cover = more fun too, right? Making the game on rails + auto-aim + auto shoot = maximum fun...

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Played a bit last night, it looks nice I guess
Textures are terrible though, looks ok from a distance but close up they're horrible not sure if they was upgraded or its just the Resolution that makes them look better.
HDR makes a difference.
Now they either improved the screen space reflections in this game or RT is in selective areas because the reflections are really good in things like puddles and mirrored area and reflected floors and are pretty high Res considering.
The heist at the beginning I watched the scene play out in the the reflection on the floor and it reflected stuff not on screen (or round the corner), RT or not it's Pretty good
Cars seem to have SSR still and only reflect environments. But they are pretty clear reflections.

Better than paying $70 in which many believed Rockstar would have opted for.

Not on performance mode, the detail in the draw distance is utter wank, even with DoF turned off its blurry. Drive down the highway towards the desert and even the hills are blurry. Im enjoying it a lot and im happy with upgrade personally but dont make false claims.

I'm just saying not every games using gun have to use the same type of gameplay. When you play melee combats, your hits are auto guided, you don't aim where you land your sword / punch or whatever. It can be something similar with gunfights, it's not because you're using ranged weapons that it needs to result into the usual shooter style.

Not having to focus on aiming can instead lead to having to focus on your movement, like dodging attacks, sliding, doing all type of tricks and whatever. Lot of games in the ps2 era were like that. I remember having a lot of fun with Star Wars bounty hunter as a kid, flying around with the jet pack, doing backflips and dodging laser during gun fights, which couldn't be done with manual aiming, at least not at that level. Hiding behind boxes and aiming isn't very fun, while playing an action game, with or without guns, can be.

You do in SW Jedi Outcast and Academy, and at a lesser extend if you don't use lock-on on Zelda or Souls. Similar here if don't use auto-aim.

Why not have focus on aiming + movement + tricks, like in Vanquish. The more manual gameplay, the better.

I played it a couple hours on PS5 last time I played it was on a One X it was noticeable better to me, I mean for $10 it’s worth it maybe not for $30-40. It is like a decade old game not that much you can do unless it’s a total remake. If I don’t finish the single player this time I don’t think I ever will.

If you jumped in and played races on PS4 like I did... higher resolution and 60fps is a dream on PS5 for the online game. I didn't get too deep into the other aspects of it.

There are other noticeable quality of life changes too... seems quicker.. and any improvement there was welcome.
