When you slap a 97 metacritic on a souls game, then u get casuls messaging me to teach them how to play the game cuz they have no idea what to do as this is they first souls games.
Glad its selling well game is great, but i now at 120h of gameplay and still havent finished it, and starting to feel burned as the bosses keep getting harder and ppl to co-op starts getting hard to find.

I’ve been alternating between ER and GT7 and they compliment each other perfectly. Couldn’t have asked for a better pairing if 2 juggernauts were going to release this close together.
Edit: i should add to avoid burning out on either. They’re both long term/repeat play games.

I expected this tbh. Sony literally released Mario kart right after breath of the wild. Absolutely stupid love. GT7 should have released in April. Either that or Horizon in late March. Space the games out. Elden ring is just selling like crack and has overshadowed their AAA games.

Is this really a good analogy when Nintendo DID release Mario Kart after BOTW and both did really well?

We need a juggernaut who can topple this game now. Sadly, the big 3 are far away. So ER fans will absolutely eat everything. Also, every game after ER will be reviewed differently.
Love the game, but big F to those who compare this game to every game out there.

Elden Ring reaching 10m this soon after release is a pretty damn amazing thing for a Japanese game*. These are usually Rockstar or Call of Duty numbers.

I can't say for every user in this topic, but GI.Biz are probably doing it cause they're the two closest biggest games that released back to back. Just a simple X to Y comparison of two big IPs releasing within days of each other.

I hope this game leads to drastic design changes in mainstream gaming. Give me amazing gameplay and adventure not cookie cutter shite.

GT7 will do well for months but there are places like curry’s that are already discounting horizon to like 50 pounds on ps5 I think it will be considerably cheaper soon. Like ratchet. That should boost some sales.

I think 70 pound games aren’t working for Sony and to be honest I’m really happy to see it. Especially a game like gt7 with heavy micro transactions.

If they have a contract with Sony for a new game (the rumor says they do), then it's up to Sony where to release the game first and last.

Moreover, last year they signed a strategic alliance with Katogawa. I generally think that in the end Sony will buy the owner From Software and attach them to Playstation Studios

For context, God of War highest concurrent player count was under 74k and it reportedly sold 2 million. Elden Ring did more than 10x that in concurrents.

The source of the 2 million for God of War was SteamSpy. Same with Elden Ring.

The biggest markets for the GT have always been Germany and France.

I think both will be successful, I think Elden ring is going to eclipse all previous From Soft titles and be a huge seller. Yes I will think it will sell more than 20 million lifetime easily.

Let's not forget that Horizon didn't eclipse 20 million until it was released on PC and also heavily discounted in price. I had friends picking it up for like £7.99 in sales. I expect Horizon FW will do similar numbers but not until the PC version is launched and it has had a good few years of sales discounts. I expect Elden Ring to do 20 million within 3 years across all platforms including promo pricing.

Just realised that Elden Ring has like 2 days that will be counted cause NPD will go upto the 26th.
