I want to be optimistic, but the state of plays have been pretty abysmal. I want to see them announce blood borne remaster, I want to see them announce MGS, and more but I’m not sure. I am kinda expecting forspoken, ghostwrire, maybe some Japanese indies. Sf6, maybe r8 dlc. Nothing crazy. I hope I’m wrong tho.
Bloodborne won't happen, MGS won't happen and Capcom said they won't share SF6 news until summer so won't happen.

I think they'll focus on known stuff like Forspoken, Ghostwire, maybe RE8 dlc or the next gen upgrades of the previous RE, Stranger of Paradise, Star Ocean Divine Force, some crap game from Namco (like Pac-Man Museum or DC super pets) and if lucky Dragon's Dogma 2 or a Capcom new IP announcement. I think it's less likely but we might get a new trailer from FFXVI, Dragon Quest XII, Project Awakening or GranBlue Fantasy Relink.

Regarding western games I think we'll get 3 or 4 non-Japanese games so we may see release dates of Stray, Little Devil Inside, Howgarts Legacy or GowR but more with a short teaser than with a long trailer. We might see a new trailer of a Korean or Chinese game like Project Eve or Black Myth: Wukong.

I think there are chances of seeing GT7 or Elder Ring accolades trailer there too.

We are eating good as Playstation owners. Thats what that meme is saying. Giving us mothers milk. Drip feeding us content. Horizon, GT7, Sifu, MLB soon. Then later this year we get God of war. We eating good.

No expectations, though I hope they'll be shattered. I guess Sony will save the big announcements for the E3.

Yes, on top of Japan is getting back in full development after last year. So projects that were suppose to be teased/Shown were pushed and suppose to be in a SOny Show. But now it looks like they are going to spread it out over summer into Evo. Don't know if they still plan on having that big event?

I'm expecting at least one megaton suprise.

Dragon's dogma 2 is my hope. It's almost confirmed to be in development and it could get a small teaser tonight....... complete with confirmation that Sony has purchased Capcom!

Final predictions - these are based on logical guesses and research based on what the companies have marketed over the past few months and me working in the industry myself and what is on the horizon. I do have to specify that I DO NOT have any Insider source on this SoP. These are all just very well thought out guesses.

Square Enix

  • Final Fantasy Stranger in Paradise Reminder with a new Demo

  • Final Fantasy 16 New Trailer with either Release Date or a Release Window assuming end of the year or early 2023. We know this game got officially delayed by 6 months as Square Enix announced so previously and the new big reveal is in Spring of 2022. Guess what March is...Spring.

  • Very tiny chance of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 getting a title/confirmation trailer reveal with a "More Info At So and So/Season"

Capcom

  • Street Fighter 6 is confirmed to be showcased in Summer, March is NOT summer. Capcom have said this after they announced Street Fighter 6, will be most likely at EVO 2022 in August or earlier.

  • Pragmata is possible, finally some gameplay if they do showcase it. It has been officially delayed to 2023 as Capcom already announced the delay earlier.

  • Next-gen Monster Hunter won't be announced until Monster Hunter Sunbreak is released for the Nintendo Switch and Capcom is doing a separate livestream for that on March 15th that is 20 minutes long. I expect an announcement of new-gen Monster Hunter next year.

  • Resident Evil 4 Remake does have a possibility, this is supposed to be the next big Resident Evil release

  • Resident Evil 8 DLC probably won't be here, as it is DLC and not a new title and can simply be posted/announced by Capcom themselves

  • Resident Evil 9 is years out, you won't see this till most likely 2024 or 2025 as far as announcement goes.

From Software

Elden Ring just came out, I highly doubt From Software had much time working on anything else besides trying to finish Elden Ring due to the coronavirus. There always have been rumors floating around that From Software is working on exclusive game with Sony/Microsoft but i really don't know how true this is. I could maybe see Armored Core 6 as Miyazaki has talked about that for a long time and it is believed that that is their next big title.

Konami

Few years ago there were a ton of rumors on a Silent Hill game, but as far as we know the Silent Hill domain lapsed and someone bought it and is now trolling Konami. If Silent Hill is real in any capacity then I feel like it would be here. But to be quite frank, I do not believe it will be.

Bluepoint

According to Colin Moriarty tweet back in October of 2021 (Colin runs the biggest well known gaming podcast on Patreon and is a EX-IGN writer who's been in the industry for many years) Bluepoint is on a journey to Yharnam and one of the titles is the Remaster and the other is a sequel so yes Bloodborne II. I can see the remaster being totally real and I would assume they would be working closely with From Software on this and this would be considered as a Japanese published game since Sony owns them. Bloodborne Remaster is very possible, but once again I'll believe it when I see it. As far as the sequel goes I would go play Elden Ring right now and not worry about it. if it does exist in any capacity then you won't be seeing it for a long time.

The 100% No's

  • No Ghostwire Tokyo. Game had a 20 minute SoP dedicated to it back in February with a release date and a ton of game info and footage. Bethesda is also NOT a Japanese publisher, Tango Gameworks is part of Bethesda and is a Japanese Developer. If it does show up in any capacity its because it's too remind people that it's coming later this month.

  • No God of War Ragnarok, will most likely get its own dedicated SoP later down the line similar to GT7, Ghostwire Tokyo, Horizon Forbidden West and Deathloop.

  • No Infamous

  • No Sly Cooper

  • No Spiderman 2

  • No Wolverine

  • No Star Wars the Old Republic

  • No Naughty Dog/TLOU Remake/Factions

Yea, don't count on that. If we get anything for Dogma it would be a teaser.

There were barely any megatons in the showcase last fall, so I doubt we'll see anything in this SOP. I can't recall any SOP in the past having any major reveals, but better late than never

Well noticed official re instagram posted a pic from village today i wonder if they gonna show a trailler for the dlc coming, i no im gonna be disappointed but after saying i wouldnt watch this live think ill leave ipad playing this on sofa while watching tv incase something comes up

I really don't expect huge announcements. Just updates on already announced games mostly.

Ghostwire Tokyo is 100% sure appearing. I mean...remember how Sony pushed for Deathloop? Yes it had a State of Play...but it's showing up. There's barely any hype to it and it's about to be released. They didn't pay for this exclusivity for nothing.

Final Fantasy Stranger in Paradise will be there since it's about to be released.

And the rest i have no idea. FFXVI is something i expect on a bigger showcase and not here tbh. I was excited at first but not anymore. I think it COULD show up...but not getting my hopes up.

I think there'll be a short trailer for Ghostwire.

I think that awful looking Final Fantasy game from Koei will show up.

There will probably be a couple of reappearances of random indie games they announced ages ago (fingers crossed for Goodbye Volcano High).

In theory Resident Evil 4 Remake and Final Fantasy XVI are possible - the timing is right - but these State of Plays are always much much MUCH worse than you tend to imagine, so probably not. Dragons Dogma was another in that category: it's obviously coming because of the Nvidia leak, but I'd be amazed if it's here.

I have to say, I really hate this post E3 marketing landscape. It was shit having to wait basically all year for news, but at least we KNEW we'd get something worthwhile at SOME point. Now it's just this never ending cocktease. Sony have a shitload obviously just waiting to be revealed but I've honestly got no idea when to expect it.

I'll never understand people celebrating or loving to parade "E3 is dead" nonsense. Always having one big show in the Summer, followed by Gamescom and TGS, and finally then the Winter with the TGA was nice to have. At least I had something to expect in terms of news with big events in the 2nd half of the year.

These broken up streams just don't do it for me since they miss the point of Nintendo Directs.

I'm not expecting much honestly.
Seems like Final Fantasy Chaos :messenger_tears_of_joy: , Star Ocean and Tokyo Ghostwire will be there in some form.
The Lost Judgment big DLC should be there as well.
A few western games like Stray, Little Devil Inside and Harry Potter might resurface with new trailers with release dates.
I don't know about other Japanese games, FFXVI will probably get its own event (a teaser might happen in the same way that FF7R and FF7R Intergrade had announcements during SoPs).

100% correct! It's maddening that we have to chase info around like this.

I loved those big Sony E3 conferences. That run from 2015 to 2018 was just great. They really felt like epic events.

If we were just losing the conferences and audience reactions etc that would be a shame but not so bad, but on top of that we don't even know when Sony's gonna present either. Basically any time between May and September is plausible this year, and we get like a week's notice. It's shit.

Yes. That's good. Let the hype grow. Expect the greatest 20 mins of your life!

I really want them to tease a megaton or sth. but I am pretty sure it's going to be lame.

I am tired of being excited then dissapointed, so small basket.

If Sony‘s marketing deal for ghost wire Tokyo is similar to deathloop we can expect long ghost wire gameplay. I thing all of the companies keep their big announcements etc for e3 season (so may/June)
