Still not sure if Long weapons are considered 1h or 2h. He holds it like 2h weapon but they are weaker than normal 2h weapons.

This game is the best bad game I've ever played. At the times when it's good, it's amazing. The immersion and sense of urgency at night gets me every time with headphones on.

But then the story kicks in again and its so wildly disjointed and switches tone constantly, it's hard to not laugh at some of the cut scenes. So many times you are talking to an NPC, turn around seconds after the conversation ends and they have just vanished into thin air which is immersion breaking as fuck.

Combat is great but weapons break all the time which makes it less motivating to spend any time making or upgrading them.. or have I missed a way to repair them?

I had an awesome time playing this game. The parkour, controls were excellent. Melee combat not so much. Once you get drop kick upgrade, it just breaks the game. Loved the exploration and open world activities. Story was below average. For some reason it was not as "scary" to play alone as dying light 1 was. I played on ps5 and luckily sidnt get any major bugs.

I finished the story last night. It's bad. It feels like Techland had to scramble to replace and/or remove Avellone's writing, and that's why we ended up with this Frankenstein's Monster of a story.
Don't understand why Avelone was canceled. That American comedian, louis ck or whatever, did worse and he's doing tours again.

I started playing last Friday. For the most part, it’s enjoyable. My main issue is I’m getting bad graphical glitches where I have to close the game.

Anybody having trouble getting the Hussar cutlass on xbsx I went to my stash under miscellaneous and all I see is my art book, soundtrack, etc no Hussar.

The story was fine for me until the epilogue, I thought that the whole plot made no sense after going through the epilogue, it's really bad from a logical standpoint, stuff makes no sense e.g.
I got a good ending and Lawan left town with Aiden, but also she was make nightrunners leader, how on earth that makes any sense?

In my game, a major character completely disappeared from the story. I don't know if it's because I made a sequence of choices that the devs didn't think of or what, but Matt was simply gone. I confronted a few named Peacekeepers in the finale, but Matt was nowhere to be seen. The epilogue mentions that Juan now controls the Peacekeepers, but NONE of that was shown or mentioned until the game was over. I guess my choices skipped it? Either way, it was really poorly done.

Also, the way they tried to force "Dying Light" into the dialogue...

This game reminds me a lot of the original in that, at the beginning, it kinda sucks. You are weak and your parkour skills are lacking and the game just isnt much fun. Now that I've leveled up quite a few times, its feeling closer to the last impression I had of the original. That said, the story blows. I dont give two shits about any of the characters or their struggles. I've sided with the Peacekeepers when capturing most of the essential supply areas because their perks are just fucking better. Like, its not even close.

Its a great AA game but I still feel like some of the physics playground aspects have been lost or dumbed down a bit.

Finished the story last night and I'd agree that the epilogue was sloppy. Overall though it didn't really diminish my love for the game and the 60+ hours I spent with it. DL2 nails it's two most important mechanics: traversal and combat. Sure there's room to make things even better but moving through this world and lopping off heads was an absolute joy I won't soon forget.

2022 is going to be a monster year for gaming and DL2 was arguably the first "big" release. When the year is all said and done I wouldn't be surprised if this finishes in my top 5, will *definitely* be in my top 10, props to Techland, the game may not be for everybody but as far as I'm concerned they delivered.

Anyone else unable to download the first free DLC pack for PS5? Whevener I try it just shows an error (it also downloads the PS4 version of the DLC which I have to delete every time).

The flickering stopped with the patch for me, but I do get some annoying things now and again. Randomly, locations decide not to show up on my compass. I have Molotov cocktails disappeating. I crafted 4, didn’t use any, then a little bit after I went to use one and it said I had 0 and I was like ummmm Ok…

Enjoying it a bit more, I just hope I can use the bow soon otherwise I’m going to get really bored with melee combat and running around.

First bow I got was from a shop so keep an eye out

I have 60 hours in this and still no grappling hook. I guess Techland didn't lie about that 80 hour figure for main quest and sidequests, I will probably take 90 or 100.

The story so far is not amazing, but apart from some inconsistencies it is perfectly competent, and sidequests are pretty much all enjoyable. Of course, this is one of the few games that can get away with several series of fetch quests simply thanks to how fun its gameplay is.

Man, the gulf in Resolution and Performance mode in terms of IQ is massive, but the performance is so fucking smooth. I'm sticking to the Performance mode against my better judgment here. Unlike Guardians, this needs a lot more active input so I'mma sacrifice the IQ for it.

This game was going great, I was loving it. Then I got to the Central Loop city area. At first I was like damn this is mental, so much to explore. Then after an hour or so realised it's an absolute ballache and not fun to navigate. I'll stick with it but the parachute controls like shit and I hope I get used to it.

Parachute controls are great and central loop is awesome. Some buildings are impossible to get to early though.

Quick question: I´m now at a point where I can start the final mission with its warning. Can I do the rest of the side quests and activities after I finished the main campaign?

I'm assuming the top floors of the Hospital where I can see some question marks in the first zone is gonna be one of those .. I hate leaving unchecked question marks on the map ugh ..

Ha, I was the same. Tried my hardest to get up there though lol.

Almost at 200 hours now. Did almost everything on the map. 4 story missions left. Max stamina. Only 2 perks left for stamina and combat to get.

There is ONE inhibitor left I need and no idea where the fuck it is. I have all the antennas on and everything. None showing on the map.

Can I assume it will show up during one of the last story missions I have left?

125/126 inhibitors is killing my OCD lol

Yo, I just unlocked this sick as fuck running drop kick which takes out 70% of a basic enemies health bar in one hit.

Finally we're getting somewhere now.

is the yells around the city pre recorded or are they actual npc, example I was in a apartment in the 2nd floor and I heard in the floor below me a girl screaming and running making a ruckus.

Yeah I had to stop exploring since I was getting frustrated trying to climb buildings only to get to sections that I realized I couldnt traverse without some other gizmo that I hadn't unlocked yet. I think I'm just going to stick to side quests and the main story for now.

I felt exactly the same way. Now I’m at 200 hours and using just my grappling hook and my max stamina to basically hook up anything I can attach to.

The game is massively rewarding. They are not afraid to give you what feels broken but in reality is just so rewarding instead. Too many games are too scared to give players power. It’s dumb. I’m glad they went overboard lol

Like I can just grapple up any windmill now. No need to worry about whatever puzzle they planned hahaha

From the drop kick to the crossbow to the grapple hook. It feels so overpowered and so good.

OK since the recent patches, some strange tech issues on PC. Is there a memory leak on pc?

I7 8700k oc
32gb ram
3080 1440p raytracing and settings as per Alex at Df advised. Game will just randomly freeze for a half second every now and again. The whole game hangs and sound cuts out for a second screen blurs then I feel performance is a bit worse after. Maybe I'm hitting the 10gb memory cap or something but I dunno.

Strange, game deffo needs some patches.

Didbt know there was a grappling hook, that seems like it will help with my issues here. I also like the OP aspect to some games, a power fantasy can be just as fun as struggling through at times

About 50 hours in and love this game. So much better dialogue then a lot of American made games imo. Really fun gameplay that doesn’t give you all the tools right away. You have to work for it. Very few bugs. 8.5/10

Early game I was exploring around some random building and could hear what sounded like someone a couple of floors above me rummaging around. It was unnerving. I loved it!

I've been enjoying the game, but I'm at that point where everything is starting to feel same-y. All the GRE buildings have the same layout. A lot of the terminals have the same layout.

I wanted to collect all the inhibitors, but I realized I don't see the point, honestly. It's not going to really add much to the game for me. I think I'm just going to power through the main story and be done with it.

Once I got to the downtown area and that second part of the world, travel started to get much more tedious. So many tall buildings you need to scale made it unnecessarily annoying. And IMO there's not enough progression in this system to warrant grinding for all the optional missions and quests. So far I've gotten all the inhibitors, and it has only enhanced my experience with the game a tiny bit. And scrounging for materials is annoying as well. The shops should just sell everything you need, I don't wanna fucking dig around for fucking alcohol bottles to make molotov cocktails, my god.

Super enjoyed the VNC Tower mission today. I love the music in this. And great subsequent mission with Lawan afterwards.

I'm just starting the Broadcast story mission, anyone got any idea how much story content is left ?

Yeah the tower was great, choosing music is def the right choice. The mission after though coulda used some work though writing wise.
Does this one have the zombie camo perk ? I remember that made night time exploring super easy in the last one.
Nope

Just hit 60 hours.. The game surprised me, I've been enjoying it far more than expected. I'm ignoring the story, but there's actually a good sandbox in here, and with room for strategy. The game is so atmospheric at times, and the sound is generally very good. I didn't like the new colorful art direction, but i've been ReShading it, tuning the colors towards realism, and with RT it looks so very very good.

Finished the game.

I completed all side quests and side content other than doing every single combat and parkour challenge.

Got all inhibitors. Maxed all my skills. Etc.

I loved it so much and put in almost 250 hours. But the AWFUL ENDING (even tho I got the best one) just soured me on the whole fucking thing.

I’ve always heard about this and have never had it happen to me. Hell I didn’t even mind Mass Effect 3’s ending. But fuck this was on a whole new level of crap.

I used my GameStop Canada game guanrtee to trade it 1:1 for Horizon 2.

I’ll pick it up again maybe in the future. Fuck that ending.
