What? You can plau golf, explore underwater, Do taxi missions, play tennis, Try and get 5 star wanted level, Buy business and do missions for your business, Do stranger missions, Go on triathlon, Steal military jet, Do rampages, Mess around with cheat codes, Win car Street race.

Oh I didn’t even mention GTA Online

Stranger missions - I forgot about those, this is only interesting stuff on the list of things you mentioned. Outside of thropies/achievments there is no benefit of doing anything else you listed. The biggest problem with GTA is that it's so super light on RPG/character customization elements in singleplayer, big city is underutilized.

Rockstar makes amazing cities/physic systems etc. but gameplay and mission quality aspects are not up to par. That's just my opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Disagree. Experience with the game showed me that covers are basically a wall to block your vision of enemies and used to duck while reloading(similar to any generic fps).
No way I think first view is better than 3rd person view during cover, where you can totally see the place around you and keep track of enemies movement.
I like the cover system, it’s simple to understand and react well to what you’re doing. For what you’re describing you would need to go far away like in The Ascent to get any meaningful view of the threats around you, which would make it a whole other game (The Ascent is awesome though). Shoulder up makes no differece imo, if anything it annoys me because it’s like they can’t decide if they are doing a third person or first person game. Cyberpunk is extremely consistent, except for the driving, the first person immersion is absolute top tier.

There are ton of ways you can customize your characters. Many different clothes and outfits.

Also Mission quality is probably the best in a game i’ve ever played in GTA V. In one mission you are stealing a jumbo jet mid air, In one mission you assassinate a tech CEO, In one mission you take a hostage from a skyscraper with a helicopter, In one mission you chase a burning plane with a dirt bike, In one mission you rob a bank with mini bike, In one mission you are in a car chase with a women in an airport runway, In one mission you are shooting your way out from a snowy cemetery at night, and the final heist was EPIC. Seriously the least repetitive game I’ve ever played, A thrilling campaign from start to finish.

I get from a progression stand point it’s not like some RPG games. But Rockstar could have easily dragged the campaign by adding artificial length by forcing player to do get 5 star 50 times just to unlock final missions, or to start every mission you need to give up 1 million dollar or something like that, so players are forced to grind and do free roam activities just to progress through the story.

I've played 5+ hours of the new 1.5 patch on PC with max settings (including RT) and DLSS set to auto.

Game runs much better than before. Still looks absolutely incredible and stands as one of the best looking games up there with Microsoft Flight Simulator. Changes I've noticed:

  • Less bugs! I encountered one bug in 5 hours which is completely acceptable. Funnily enough, it's a brand new bug that I've never seen in my 270+ hours of playtime.
  • Driving is much better. It's actually fun to drive around now, even on a keyboard.
  • Map screen is improved big time. No more clutter, everything is nicely organized with unique icons. Assault in progress don't appear automatically and you need to find them.
  • New journal is great with link to other sections for relevant information like lore bits, characters, districts etc.
  • New crowd AI makes video game sense and is finally up to pair with other open world big city titles.
  • They actually redone some of the scenes. For example Saburo Arasaka character model in flashback scene is now younger. Or the lighting when you first "meet' with Johnny Silverhand is completely different and more sinister.
  • Enemy AI is much, much better. They will try to flank you, throw grenades if you camp in one place, communicate with one another and even panic cry when you kill one of them.

+ much more other smaller things. It's a good update.

I'm playing it on series x right now, and honestly it's a fucking amazing game......the only problem....the damned controller. Its honestly absolutely awful on console. I can't see how anyone could play the combat sections well.

This game on pc with mouse and keyboard, I can easily see why it would scores 9s and 10s.

Looks amazing on series x in performance mode but I dunno if I can hack playing with the pad.
I played it on both ps4 pro and pc, it was definitely far better on PC but i made do on PS4.. that said I'm always trying to be a zero-kill pacifist (for the challenge, not belief) and that doesn't require minute aiming.. the few times i was forced to open fire on console it was a shitshow... But i put it down to having no perks in it

So how many more updates do you think this game needs to get to the promised state?

I want to play this at some point but i don't want the open world aspect to be the worst of any open world game.
I think it's promised state was a life sim and i don't think it'll ever get there, i dunno about everyone else but i expected to be deckard or ryan gosling, making my way around the city in total freedom, working in an office by day, assassinating people by night or whatever.. yeah it'll never get there..

... But i for one quickly realised that, altered my expectations, and loved the game.. i can't download the new version for a week or so, looking forward to it.

Game still needs some work. Playing on the Series X, it looks bloody amazing, utterly hooked. Little things drive me crazy though, if you're in the desert without a car you're boned. You can see cars no more than fifty feet away driving at you but they vanish before they get to you :messenger_tears_of_joy:

..So you never get a car to steal and end up walking, miles.

People having trouble with controller settings try this guys video and settings -

A couple of my settings got reset going from PS4 to PS5 this one and HDR were two I had to redo. Even though he is on PC with a controller they seem to improve the console controller settings, also I turned down adaptive trigger sensitivity to I think 80% it was too high imo.

Dude, what? Press right on the d-pad to summon your vehicle to you wherever you are. It literally spawns next to you.

Please tell me you didn't walk through the desert back to the city, lol

Just call one of your cars? They should come to you.

Hmm so still on the fence though. Is it worth picking this up for the X when its like $15?

Or should i grab it on PC in a year, with all those juicy mods.

No, my cars knackered. The option is blanked out. I'm just passed the mission where you're car is shot :messenger_tears_of_joy:

...But that doesnt take away from what I wrote now does it (y)

Pretty great on Series S, matches the resolution of the bigger consoles in 30fps mode just without the hardly worthwhile shadows, that's really exceeding what was promised when it's the same resolution, a very nice 1440p.
Hopefully they get a 60fps mode up and running at some point but it's already solid and with all the upgrades also leaving the Xbox One X version well behind.

The shooting is awful, which is why i'm probably speccing towards stealth and hacks. But overall I like the game. Save for some crashes and glitches here and there.

Yeah this could be. I didn't traverse so far during that time, but if you do the side job from Mama Welles you'll get a ride and after that I got another ride from another side job that took some real life time to get fixed up. Unless there is another script doing this shit again.

It's only matching the lower bounds of the bigger consoles which seem to go up to 1620p.

Regardless no-one with two working eyes or any other worthwhile means would choose to play this game at 30fps in any case.

Can I be honest even though you right?
Used to call the car and sometimes it never reachs me(the distance count was like as if it was stuck) and I was like "where the fuck my car is?"

It doesn't. Wait for more serious analysis, you'll see.

I just watched the IGN comparison, it's a solid 1440p couldn't find any drops, the other consoles could go higher but mostly run at 1440p also.
So pretty good result when it's matching the resolution of the bigger machines.

Aye, my next thing is to get a new car. That traffic problem is quite jarring though, i'd prefer it if they just took the vanishing cars out. It'd look much better all round really.

So if you are a Deus Ex fan, is it worth getting at this cut-price?
Thousand times yes I'd say. All that relates to story (characters, storytelling, voice acting, dialogue, etc..) is a thousand times better than last two Deus Ex, while gameplay and level design are less tight but much more open. Still, very similar experiences overall.

Interesting....though I have too much of a back-log at the minute...so in no hurry to jump in just yet...then again...how long will it remain cut-price? (Quite happy working my way through whatever time is left on the trial)

Been playing this for few hours. I like it, no bugs so far. The only thing that feels off is driving, like others have said. Cars don't have weight.

Holy, that framerate - looks like I'd still be switching RT mode off on next gen.
lol I was playing around with the pc version on maxed out settings last night. had to settle for 30 fps because in some areas while driving the framerate would dip from mid 40s to low 30s. I was a bit upset about the GPU usage hovering around 75-80% until i hit this cutscene in a club with dozens of light sources and my framerate went all the way down to 20 fps and stayed there. had to disable rt shadows and some other visual settings to bring it back up and then it dropped again in another scene, this one didnt even have any fancy RT lighting.

the game is just poorly optimized and always will be. RT was definitely bolted on but my god it looks incredible.

Just watch this video and you'll get the idea. When PS6 drops maybe CDPR will do another "next-gen patch" to unlock this game's full potential on consoles.

DF should really do a comparison. Some are still confused thinking there's RT reflections.

After some tweaking its really good.

I removed CA, Motion Blur and film grain for graphics. For gameplay I lowered the horizontal and vertical sensitivity, the acceleration (which is nauseous, it speeds up when you keep holding the stick in a direction), all the advanced settings to 0. I found the horizontal setting from the video a bit too stiff, I put it at 13, myself. Feels more like an average FPS that way.

I like how you can tinker a fuck ton, but both graphics and gameplay aren't great if you don't change anything.

What I like about the PS5 version are the haptics. But thats personal.

Is it just my imagination or did the Sony version of the game remove nudity in some of the advertisement billboards/posters around the city? Take for example, the Milfguard ads generally have an animation with them where the 'milf's boobs are exposed for a few seconds before the milfguard logo pops up and covers them up. In the PS5 version the milfguard ads will just be a static non moving advert with the milf already covered by the milfguard logo and it does not animate. Now some ad posters do not animate and are static and there ARE a few milfguard ones like this, but I haven't seen a Milfguard one that does animate on the proper billboards that do generally animate. There are some other raunchy ads with nudity on it but I haven't seen those either on the PS5 version.

One last thing, many ad/billboards/posters on both PS5 and Series X are low resolution and pretty distracting, is a real shame cause the rest of the game is looking pretty good.

- Update 2/19.
It's all in there. Seems like on my PS5 playthrough, the billboards are on a very slow rotation schedule and there is an odd issue with the billboards not animating, sometimes I've had to aim at them to get them to animate and it seems like certain times of the day would dictate whether the billboard was static or dynamic. I think they became more active at night.
