CrossfireX is now available exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. The legendary franchise comes to Xbox in a fast-paced first-person shooter with modern & classic multiplayer modes and a cinematic campaign that drops you in the middle of a global conflict between the world’s two most formidable private military factions.

In addition to the full free-to-play multiplayer experience, you can also play the single player campaigns, Operation Catalyst and Operation Spectre, developed in partnership with Remedy Entertainment. Xbox Game Pass members have access to Operation Catalyst at no extra charge. CrossfireX | Where will the fight take you?

If the game wasn't a counter strike clone I would've tried it out.

Launch trailer with no gameplay. What in the world is this?

Doesn’t it cost much more to make trailers like this? why not just show gameplay?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Has the SP campaign (or half of it or whatever) unlocked for anyone else on GP yet ? Still shows locked to me.

If you're in the UK/EU, don't bother, 200 ping, aim acceleration (or feels like it) ran forwards turned my camera and noped out and uninstalled XD (multiplayer, not tried the single player)

You’re talking about the MP. The SP is an entirely different thing, developed on a different engine by Remedy

Sorry I will edit my post, so people know my comment is about the multiplayer.

How is the single player for anyone that has tried it?

Hobbygaming

has been asked to post in 'Grounded' mode.
I'm a huge Remedy fan but it seems like this game has been making very little noise, unlike Alan Wake, Control, Quantum Break, etc

This being kept to xbox is stupidest thing ever, but of course it remains to be seen if the campaign is any good. One would expect Remedy to make a good game, given their track record..

The last time some games were available only on Xbox at launch but not PC were Natsuki Chronicles and Yomi wo saku hana.

Main issue is lack of content for MP. 1(!) Map for each mode.

Also it controls like ass with the controller in MP. U can´t make adjustments to Accelation/Deadzone etc.

No problems to download the game, but I see others report problems. SP feels like a Remedy game with all the Sam Lake dream sequences and Matrix bullet time and PS2 old school shooter gameplay. 7/10 game. MP seems bare bones with no team death match in the updated mode.

I've played the multiplayer for a couple of matches on Series X, it's junky as hell, the other players animations are robot-like at a weird framerate, kind of like you see in other game when observing character models from far away and they switch the animations to use very low LOD instead, the problem here is that they're used even if you are point blank to them, graphics are nothing special, it's very last gen in all aspect, gunplay feels way off, reminds me of CS GO port on the Xbox 360 way back in the day, it's not designed for controllers in my opinion, hell the whole interface is designed for mouse and keyboard, game is riddled with micro-transactions everywhere and battle pass etc...

There's a system of power ups you can access and use temporary boosts like speed increase, optic camo etc, It's overwhelming in a bad way for a game that have "tactical" game modes like search and destroy or domination and fast TTK but have bonkers shit like players running around with akimbo MP5 spray and pray in a game where you get dropped in 3 shots, can't skip reload animations/ accelerate them, you need to cycle equipment like the knife when you want to knife someone in reaction ( then again tedious and why bother doing it if you can melt everyone with 2,3 shots anyways)

I would like to read what you guys think of the game too, for me it's DOA on consoles.

I guess after the last few failures and given how well buggy games sell these days Remedy just said to themselves... let's go with the jank, no one cares anyway.

From what I seen this doesn't share as much DNA with CS(GO) as much as the original Crossfire does. I feel it's far more closer to something like CoD now.

Also have they said anything about ever bringing this over to PC or nah?

Can't help but feel something weird went down behind the scenes of this one. Phil Spencer revealed this himself at E3 2019, they had a video with an Xbox guy visiting Remedy at XO19, premiered the trailer at their showcase in 2020... then absolute silence, before releasing it with zero fanfare.

Jesus, I hope this doesn’t sink remedy. We need studios like theirs.

I mean it was just a work-for-hire project for them. Probably just has a small team doing this for a bit extra cash.

Well sure but so do a lot of games. It undoubtedly shares a lot of similarities with CSGO but with CFX I feel like they've moved even more into the arcadey area, which is fine as far as I'm concerned.

Also even if it was a blatant copy of Counter-Strike (such as the original Crossfire) that still doesn't mean it's necessarily bad game from the outset so I don't really get that argument to begin with.

No no, don't get me wrong.

It's just, I want some cod that's free and not Warzone lol, so hoped this had some of the same game modes.

Ah gotcha. And yeah I agree, so far the closest this has to TDM it's that domination mode. Hopefully they add more casual modes like that in the future as that seems perfect for this game.
