Replaying UC4 has made me realize just how disappointing TLOU2 was.

Agree. Ultimately we are comparing two of the best games last gen and both are great in their own right. TLOU 2 stands alone, however, imo, as top five greatest games all time. But I say that knowing it is a divisive game and a lot of people don't like it for various reasons and that is fine, but I look at how the game performed in sales, critical reception, number of GOTY awards and that builds one hell of a resume. Based on all that, I think it is obvious who the true minority here are. That doesn't make their opinion any less valid though.

I think the loud minority (as well as fanboys) have claimed and propgated a narrative that TLOU2 is failing in different areas, because they’re unsatisfied with the outcome of the story (or misunderstand ND’s final portrayal of Joel); It’s a coping mechanism. Some people don’t understand character arcs either…

Not every game is for everyone, but like you mentioned, judging by all of the standard metrics/variables, critics and readers have all chimed in at this point and TLOU 2 still hung among the very best. It’s not my favourite game, but I had to recognize how much it achieves so well in each facet of the game.

One take away from the divisive nature of this game is that it became a true representation of this medium’s visceral spectrum.

It’s art.

Both games suffer from pacing and story issues. But I think Uncharted 4 is worse. I'm replaying it right now and the beginning of the game is so boring. UC4 is a TPS ashamed of being a TPS.
As much as I dislike some aspects of the story in TLOU2 it's still a very competent stealth/survival horror game from beginning to end.

Way to compare 2 completely different games :). Both are great games and which you enjoy more might depend on personal taste. I massively enjoyed both and both games are classics in their own right. Hyperbole much to mention you're worried about ND because they released a game of which you, personally, didn't like the story from. I'm psyched to see what ND will create next as all of their games are absolute top tier quality. Are the games perfect? No, probably not. But then again, there are no perfect games.

The new UC4 looks noticeably more detailed and better graphically, compared to the new LL. Both look good of course.

Cuckmann truly just has a knack for creating annoying characters, I don’t know how he does it. The dialogue is so masterfully cringe at times.

TLOU2 is a masterpiece and people who dog on it look like fools.
Or and I know its crazy talk but not everyone think of TLOU2 as "masterpiece" like you do.

I loved both but I have more complaints about TLOU2.
Yes they could of totally gone with another way with the story and it probably would of been better, but my complains were most gameplay parts.

1.There wasnt enough Uncharted action moments, those rollercoaster like moments, especially with Ellie. The whole Island Escape was amazing though, Probably Naughty dogs finest.

2. The moments from TLOU 1 like Henry and his brother, Bill’s whole segment, the hunters, David etc is kinda missing in TLOU2. There was great parts but it felt less like an epic journey.

3. Not enough Clicker parts, Clicker bosses etc

4. The Chemistry between Ellie and her friends was not close to Joel and Ellie.

Still it was amazing. I loved that it was the longest out of the cinematic Naughty Dog games. Going to California in TLOU2 was awesome and Im so glad the game didnt stop in the theatre. The Sniper bit was also so cool and how it came altogether

Finally got around to finishing the lost legacy. Good fun. Performance mode for the most part and still looks amazing.

Can’t help but cringe when I see people try so hard to criticise TLOU2 any chance they get when the uncharted games openly present sequence after sequence that hold your hand all your way down the narrow path required. There is definitely an obvious case of uncharted being propped up solely because people are still upset over TLOU2.

Why are there RPGs conveniently scattered around when an armoured truck or helicopter needs to be taken down (which both patrol like a human npc would?)

Oh come on. That's not the complaint people have with TLOU2 at all. The pacing is a sludge, especially 3/4th of the way through the game. The Uncharted games were paced MUCH better.
