Back in 2009, a study finds that women are more hardcore gamers than men.

"Winterburn says that when she plays video games with her boyfriend, she will try to find the right game for them to play together.

"We're still women. ... It's just an emotional thing. I think we probably like to spend more time with our boyfriends than they like to spend time with us," she says.

She also suspects that men may not like playing online with their partners because they feel the need to share in-world "loot" lest they suffer real-world consequences."

LOL there it is! Gotta throw in there that men don't like spending time with their partners as much as women do, oh and also, men are more selfish than women.

More women gaming and going hardcore? Good!

-Less bitching at me when I'm playing.
-Less need for me to talk to them since she'll be too busy playing.
-I can play on HER system instead of losing mine!
-Reliable couch co-op partner? Fuck yeah.
-She demands we make the game room bigger.
-Her game collection is bigger than mine.

Pure win all around. Yes please.

Yes, you'll never find a more dedicated user base than the throngs of millions of women working secretary jobs pumping 7 hours a day into Candy Crush while they wait for calls, or whilst shitting.

Some even play Mario Party and Mario Kart, according to recent statistics. Tom Elrick, 29, Minnesota, was quoted as saying "Yeah, my girlfriend kicks my ass all the time at Mortal Kombat. I play "badly," to get a beej here and there and make her feel better about herself. Keeps her busy so she won't scroll through her social media calling other girls fat because they have better lips and she has to validate her existence,"

Sarah Leemer, 19, Kentucky, said of hardcore gaming: "I think the empowered females are a lot more hardcore. I main Link in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, and all my boyfriend talks about is Cod. Cod, seriously. Like who cares about a fishing game, lol,"

I don't usually think of "more hardcore" strictly in terms of hours played, but it's interesting nonetheless. Both my girlfriend and I are avid gamers, but where she will play one or two online games regularly for long periods of time (usually stuff like Call of Duty or Fallout 76), I play dozens of games every year and usually burn through one and on to the next, mostly single player stuff. We probably play similar amounts, but I'm more conversant in gaming culture. She, however, is certainly way better than me at the games she plays.

We seldom game together, also. Gaming is sort of a safe space to ourselves for both of us.

Even though your girlfriend is playing games you certainly can recognize that stereotypes exist for a reason and that it is not as common for women to be interested in the gaming the same way men are. That is the main thing bothering me and i guess most males reading those ridiculous articles inferring meaning from unusable "studies".

I think with these two videos we can definitively settle this argument:

Let us know your thoughts on who is the most hardcore here please GAF.

I'm not sure exactly what "hardcore" even means in gaming today. I can't even have an opinion on this as a result.

I've seen several female streamers that take gaming a lot more seriously than I do, but then I've always been super casual and play for my enjoyment only.

Isn’t this vagina-haver just talking about social constructions? Isn’t this whold study based on correlating social constructions and unmeasureable metrics?

I'm acknowledging that time spent gaming doesn't give a very complete picture of gaming habits or how "hardcore" a gamer is, and that's why I was talking about how even though we are both gamers, we have very different sorts of gaming habits.

There's also a generation gap, here. I think among children, it's probably pretty much 50/50 boys and girls. But women are more likely to give up games when they get older and have kids than men are, I think.

You can't reason with people that have only personal experience and infer from that and modern propaganda how reality functions. Threads like these feel like they are being purposefully created to sow discord.

Actually arguing in these threads is useless most of the time.

Lets keep this one going I like it. We need the ladies of GAF of post videos of them doing "hardcore epic shit" in the games they're currently playing. Then one of the men of GAF will reply with a more hardcore epic video. Rinse and repeat.

Really what I'm wanting to see here is completely silly videos of people being terrible at games, don't actually post cool videos please.

I mean, the only reason woman would keep gaming while enduring all the harassment, is if they are obsessed over it. There is no room for casual woman gamers in multiplayer games at least.
