So you basically need a PC better than a ps4 pro to run it at base ps4 settings...

Unoptimized AF game incoming? Hopefully I can run the game at PS4 pro settings on an RX 580.

Who would have thought that not only would Sony exclusives come to PC, but they'd also be competent ports that exceed the originals? Especially a title as strong as God of War, a key franchise.

According to specs I will be able to hit 1080p60, which is exactly where I'm aiming. Perfect.
How can PC support Dualsense an PS4 no...
God of War on PS4 supporting DS5 means both the console and the game supporting it, which means extra work on a finished product and Sony working on the console OS itself. This is a new product on an open platform, so it's work going into a new product with much less work required to make happen.

How dare they make a Sony product work with a Sony product.

Dunno what it is but gamma and general presentation looks kinda wrong, maybe its too sharp or something. Looks like when you play an older game at too high a resolution and the overall presentation breaks down. Like the art benefitted from the blur of the reconstruction/TAA of the console version. Never thought I'd say that about a modern game tbh, could be DLSS or something like that making me think this though so can prob be disabled.

Recommended: 30FPS

😬

Love when they released matrices like this, too bad no high framerate options are included.

Making those graphics card prices even more depressing.

I'll continue to pick and choose my settings on my 2070 Super, and still have a great experience with it. Can't wait to replay this game.

For people saying it seems to be too demanding / require crazy hardware for the same result as ps4, you have to consider a few things first.

It's possible that it's not optimized of course, we never know, but when you start to increase some settings, the difference in ressource consumption can be insane. For example, having the same exact game, but with the shadow resolution pushed to some insane value, could make a game 10 times more demanding, even if it's just for the shadows. This is why people should not constantly always aim for "ultra", because ultra is just things pushed to the max, to make games more futurproof or whatever, it's a bonus, but it's not the main way to play a game.

You really need to look at what the settings actually do, before saying it's unoptimized or something. Sometimes medium settings will be totally fine and still better than the original console version.

Similar to Horizon ZD, looks like Sony's PC port team puts in some effort giving PC gamers some nice maxed out specs and DLSS and whatever. They could had been lazy and do shitty ports (like you hear about From Software doing 30 fps caps on PC games).

1060 for 1080p30.... isn't 1060 like 2-3 times more powerful than ps4 ?
Anyway - 3080 for 4k60. I would expect 120 wih 3080. Probably dlss will get there.
I think I will better replay it 4k60 on ps5... I do have 3080 but pc is (too often) pain.

I can already hear pc players whining about fov :messenger_face_steam:

edit: btw it is a bit weird having new console on the market and advertising pc version with all these features while not even doing ps5 native port

Report me if I continue to console war
That spec guide seems high?

A GTX1060 for only 108030fps @ "original" visual settings.

The gtx1060 is about 20% more powerful then a pro, I was expecting 1080p60fps at PS4 quality on that card

Spec indicate I should be able to do 1440/60 with my pre covid built PC which is good enough for me.

Yeah I know it seems inappropriate to bring up totally unrelated games in a thread about God of War. My bad, what was I thinking?
My logic was GoW won a lot of GotY awards over RDR2. I had a correlation. GoW is an incredible game, but I don't want to play it again, it was not however better in my opinion better than RDR2.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

Those CPU and GPU requirements are pretty beefy when you consider this games' origins.

Hopefully it looks amazing. Performance seems like a sure thing - can only imagine what fighting a Valkyrie will be like at 120fps.

Looks like I'll have fun time at 1440p. Hell, specs look like everyone will have a fun time to be honest.

But that 30FPS...
