So is this the QDCC shown in this video?

I think so given this description of Samsung's QD-OLED tech here, but wanted others opinions:

Gonna be amazing when we get that electro-luminescent QD tech shown at the end, I wonder if that or microLED will come first to consumer sets.

I need to know where the car goes at the end lol

There's literally a smaller 42" model coming.

Nobody wants a TV smaller than 42.

Yeah, nobody... Now I totally see how wrong I was!

Yes, qd oled is using quantum dot color conversion.

Imo micro led is not ever going to be viable for a reasonable price and there are competitors like qned and self emissive quantum dot that may even be better anyway.

My main question is what is the A85k? Presumably the A90 will be an a90j replacement, and a80k > 80j.

You don't say!

You started saying you want a sub-42" TV.

Now you're flipping to saying you don't want a TV.

Make up your mind.

If you want a 30-39" monitor, go buy one. Plenty exist.

If you want a small TV, then buy a 42-48" model.

Who Knows Idk GIF

So where are the 4k OLED monitors that are 27 inch with decent HDR?
I wouldn't know.

But I promise you that Sony Bravia TVs won't be where you find them lol.

Its like going to an Apple store and asking "where are the affordable Android phones?"

Won't some fella leak their lcd lineup so I can know if they have mini led or not :messenger_grinning_sweat:

All these leaks and no mention of it makes me sad :(
Maybe their highest end model.

Sony will obviously use Mini LED as an excuse to raise the price.

X95K or whatever it'll be. If not 2022, then it'll be 2023.

I'll pay the price if they have it in the x90 or x95 models.

However, the x95 series is not their highest ; that'd be the Z9 series.

If mini led doesn't come to the mid/mid high tier lcds, I could see it being in the Z9K. ...Which I won't be buying as they're Fing expensive and huge.

Yeah I meant highest 4K model.

Idk much about 8K TVs.

8K doesn't interest me at all.

No 8K streaming anytime soon, and no 8K blu rays ever coming. And 8K gaming is a joke too.
Same here, but the point in buying i.e. the Z9G was not so much for 8k, but rather super high peak brightness (near 4000 nits! X90J doesn't even hit 1000) for incredible hdr performance, high zone count (720+ vs i.e. 60 on x95j) for great highlights and deep blacks for SDR.

Also, upscaled 4k to 8k or 1080p to 8k looks a bit better on these sets vs 4k sets from a proper distance but it's hardly a selling point for me.

Z9G is pretty much the most bad ass 85 inch lcd ever. But yeah I want a 49/55 inch ideally for the game room.

I dunno, I saw a tech demo a while back of MicroLED running at 2,000nits, it genuinely made HDR10 and Dolby Vision stuff look superbly amazing, it really felt like the next genuine step, all the benefits of OLED with the ability to push for higher brightness and no burn in, etc, though sadly yes waiting for the price to come down feels like a long game.

~ $1500 for a 65" OLED (like the A80J or C1) is a great value.
In some cases, but I'd rather not shell out 1.5 grand today when what I got is already pretty good for its use case and I can wait longer for better and cheaper sets as the tech evolves.

2000 nits will be hit on samsung qned (self emissive inorganic) and self emissive quantum dot as well.

Now, for really really large panels at say 10000 nits, micro led has that niche, but niche among niche for yacht owners.

Micro led is very very hard to downscale from larger sizes ; it’s why we hear the first model will be 75 inch minimum at an extremely costly price.

Microled is a red herring mostly.

I think the more important player in the game is Samsung because, unlike Sony, they don't exclusively position themselves as a premium brand, meaning the entry of a Sony OLED won't force LG to lower their margins, as opposed to Samsung. Plus, there are still a few minor things that LG provides as opposed to either, even if Samsung can provide a competitive price, and for a lot of us who own more than one device, having every feature is a nice-to-have.

- Better input lag and response times
- 4K@120 Dolby Vision
- HGiG
- G-Sync and AMD Premium FreeSync (For us PC gamers)
- Game Optimizer settings w/ Framerate Overlay

It's like one of the few TV's out there that exclusively markets to gamers. They have an entire page dedicated to it on their website, and that's how I want to feel: catered to. It just absolutely baffles me how Sony ignores this market with PlayStation in their back pocket.
