Sure there were many things a long time in the making, but Geoff said, he worked together with them for 2,5 years for this reveal (he didn't say a game or thing that had been in development ofr 2,5 years). I don't think he spend a lot of time or planning for any developer. Mostly he is contacting them a long time before the event and ask them if they have anything to show at the show. However 2,5 years would suggest he is talking to this developer often and we know that Geoff and Kojima are kind of friends and he probably are contacting each other sometimes. Again, sure it could be anything, but I think it must be someone with a regular contact with Geoff.

I missed that part. Sounds more interesting now.

Last time (when he interacted with Hassan for the failed reveal) was there any indication they knew each other for 2 years?

I saw in the news here in Japan, that travel restrictions have been tightened again and even if you are Japanese and enter the country you need to self isolate for 14 days. I had to do this when I flew abroad in July and they are very strict about this. They will track your phone and call you every day to confirm your location. So I cannot see Kojima traveling and instead if he is part of the show, it will be via video link.

But as I already pointed out, we know that at least one developer from Japan and the UK will participate via video link as the official description on the game awards says "live from Los Angeles, Tokyo and the UK"...
Actually I just checked and the text has been changed to "live from Los Angeles", either because plans have changed or they deleted it, to not spoil anything.

I have a bad feeling that Kojima is focusing on making a movie/series and not so much on games lol

Well we pretty much KNOW he is getting into that, how much that takes away from making games is the question.

Probably longer than a movie.. but then again, he'd have editors telling him how stupid it all is lol

lol.. i think he just meant to put a timer on the page. That's not the line causing the error, it's where it's trying to set an element's innerHTML but it looks like he has the id wrong.

But yes the page is intended to have a countdown timer to Feb 1. We all know how that goes w/ Hasan. We were supposed to have an actual trailer in August, and then multiple trailers before 2022 lol

Yeah, apparently they are "currently recruiting staff for Kojima Productions. We create AAA-class "original titles" and completely new "outrageous titles".

Between original AAA titles and completely new bizarre ones, it doesn't sound like they are working on someone else's IPs.

I think the "consulting on" rumors are more likely than Kojima taking on someone else's IP, or using one of his old ones. He seems far more interested in unique writing than anything else.
