Today Koei Tecmo and Gust released an extensive trailer of the the upcoming Blue Reflection sequel Blue Reflection: Second Light.

The trailer showcases life in the strange world in which the game is set. We get to see crafting, social interaction, gathering, and more.

You can check it out below.

Blue Reflection: Second Light releases in North America and Europe on November 9, 2021, just over a couple of weeks after the Japanese launch on October 21. If you want to see more, you can check out the first trailer, another recent batch of screenshots, another gallery, and the first gameplay.

You can read the official description below.

“Blue Reflection: Second Light follows the adventures of three students – Ao Hoshizaki, Kokoro Utsubo, and Yuki Kinjou – who find themselves transported to a mysterious floating academy, searching for clues to find their way back home, with only their names as memories. One day, a path leading to a new land appears, but when the three protagonists set off to unravel the mystery, they are met by a horde of deadly monsters. By battling the fiendish creatures, they unlock unknown powers that only seem to deepen the cryptic nature of their surroundings. Throughout the adventure, the three friends cooperate and struggle to make their everyday-life as rich and as fun as possible. While spending every day trapped in this unknown world, the characters’ true feelings and personalities will be revealed, and as their bonds grow deeper, they will acquire new strengths and abilities.
Furthermore, not only will the protagonists be able to build their ideal academy throughout the game, but they will also be able to craft items together, and depending on the character combinations, the completed item’s properties can change, even triggering special conversations. By deepening their friendships, the three students will eventually grow closer to the mystery of this world and the reason of why they lost their memories. “

Oh man, I've always loved the artwork for the first game but I never came around to playing it. Might give the second one a chance.

Collectors edition came a day early. Nice. The art book is in Japanese, so I can't read any of the text. I cleared my game queue, so I can dive right in. Looking forward to a relaxing jRPG.

So far the game is pretty boring. I hope it picks up soon, but I won't hold my breath. The game world is very empty so far, the combat is boring and bloated with too many mechanics, and the world is not very interesting to explore. To be honest, I was expecting better from Gust. I really enjoy the other games they make and it is the reason I picked up the original Blue Reflection. I remember that game not being as enjoyable as the Atelier and Nights of Azure games I have played, but still enjoyable nonetheless. The combat could really be improved if you were in the Reflector state a lot more, which currently is hardly at all. Every time I turn around they are adding another mechanic to the combat that doesn't seem necessary. I am hoping it clicks soon and all makes sense.

Thank god I did not click on this thread before or else I would have been spoilered by the opening post wtf...
I think the game is pretty good, MUCH better than Tales of Arise. I give it a 7/10.

It has gotten better as I play it more. Lots of base building and crafting. Wish I could skip the transformations.

Anyone know the writers for this game?
The dialogue is much better than the other Gust games. I can only find information for the first game and the anime.

No idea.

I feel like they censored this game. For sure cut back on the water "effects" from previous game. Camera feels limited.

The main story is pretty interesting, but all of the side content gets to be a bit much once you find all the other classmates. Chasing around all over the place doing side quests for each classmate is very time consuming when you have multiple things to do for each classmate.
