Any news regarding Series S/X upgrades concerning these added titles? I'm still rocking an OG One

They are similar in many ways but the campaigns are quite different. I think TS2 is the better multi player game. The campaign is still good but Future Perfect is a lot more fun in the game play and especially the writing department. If you are going for campaign, which I am guessing you are unless you are having a split screen party...which you should...I would say Future Perfect is the one to get.

TS2 is more like Perfect Dark, and TS3 is more modern and streamlined
that's basically the difference.

TS3 also has a better story and the cutscenes are better made

Thanks mate. Only played T2 was back and remember loving it. Maybe I'll just get both.
Gun Valkyrie never supported native widescreen same as Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb, I don't know why they have patched those 2 games but the rest are still 4:3

Ahh that's ok. 4:3 is fine. Thanks for mentioning

Awesome. Thanks for your input mate.

Don't give up on Gunvalkyrie guys. The controls are weird but hide a ton of interesting depth. It's all about using the booster dashes and quick turn. Your whole power up is tied to multi-air boosting. It's like playing Virtua On. Some of the most interesting booster controls around.

Just bought it! My best friend at the time bought it and it looked awesome although if I remember correctly the controls had a learning curve.

Man I really hope that error concerning Otogi 1 and 2 get resolved soon.

They were released barely a year apart and they're essentially the same game with a few extra features and improvement RR7 brought to the table

Tech wise RR6 is 720p and RR7 is native 1080p other than that 6 is more detailed in some areas (mostly textures) while 7 has better illumination
....And 7 was the last great Ridge Racer game anyway.....hasn't been the same since..

There is definitely a learning curve, and it feels very dated. But, it is worth the effort to familiarize yourself and I'm really enjoying it now.

I remember giving up on Gunvalkyrie after one early mission where you had limited time to clean up an area, and I only realized with 5 seconds left on the timer that I had missed a monster at the other end of the map.
I'll try to be more patient this time.

Look through this too. There are some hidden jet moves that help with rapid maneuvering. I'm doing that quick turn constantly. Also the auto-jet float on the machine gun is a nice tip.

Cool I'll test it out after work :D

100 % emoji, PGR had some good music but fuck would they be willing to shill out dosh to get licence music for PGR again.

PGR 3 was peak 360!

I think it's also a conflict of licencing with the car manufacturers, too. That adds to that nightmare.

It differs, actually. Max Payne 2, for instance. It had no widescreen support in the original Xbox release. Now it runs at a full 16:9 through BC. Timesplitters: Future Perfect is at 16:10. I think Black is 3:2. Just depends on the game.

Wonder if they will add 4x resolution (X-enhanced) to some of these 360 games. Seems wrong to play DOA1-3 at near 4K when DOA4 is 720p. If Ridge Racer 6 got X-enhanced it'd be the highest res. console Ridge Racer title ever.

1440x810 actually.

Thanks! I'll give it a read. Just finished mission one, pretty awesome. Minor complaint are the inverse aiming settings lol!! Besides, everything feels like writing with your non dominant hand haha, it's going to take some time. =P

Yeah I wish it could be inverted too. Kind of helped me to think of the right stick as just controlling my head and not the aim. Just generally look in the correct direction and it auto aims the rest. Later on the.up and down aiming is important though to hit enemies above you or below while hovering. Glad youre into it!

Pretty transformative over the 360 and ps3 versions. Those were 18-30 fps. Now it's locked 60fps on the new X consoles. Gotta give MS credit. You can't even play most heavy hitter ps3 games on PS5, but on XSS/X you get over double the framerate and massive resolution bumps. This runs at 1800p and 1200p 60fps on the new consoles.

XB360 same areas for comparison lol

Fallout 3 is virtually the same as above but full 4k and 1440p. So even further improved in terms of resolution.

I got into DoA with 4 at the launch of the 360 and have played every one since then, so I was really looking forward to playing 2 Ultimate and seeing an earlier rendition.

Firstly - holy SHIT it looks incredible at 4k. The stages are legit better textured and designed than DoA 6's stages. Like, they went backwards in ability over 20 years, somehow.

Secondly - it doesn't have endless versus mode vs the CPU, which is always how I play DoA. This is very frustrating. I'd choose random char vs random char and play out 10 to 20 matches with a podcast on. Can't do that here - have to play Time Attack or Endless mode, which is less fun.

Thirdly - I loved DoA Dimensions on the 3ds. Now I realize - that was this game, repackaged. I knew it was a retelling of the first three games, I just didn't realise how much it *was* DoA2U in terms of UI, stages, movesets etc. Even that incredible opening scene with Aerosmith was in dimensions, iirc. So I kinda feel like I've played all this before. And frankly, it seems like DoA's 2 through 4 had very few changes between them. More like upgrades than pure sequels.

Still worth it to have it on Xbox and $15 is just about right.

Damn though, DoA games must have been mindblowing at the time.

Well now I really want to go back to either Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Anyone go back to these recently?

On PC, I played Fallout 3 again last year at 60fps(or higher can't remember). Massive improvement over that trash 360 version fps, which was still better than the ps3. Textures weren't great but I enjoyed it still.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

It's been a few years now, but I replayed Fallout 3 when it got the "X Enhanced" patch for the Xbox One X. So it was 4K but still 30fps on the One X. A massive improvement over the original. Bumping up to 60fps, I imagine it'd be a pretty awesome experience.

i remember DoA3 as an Xbox launch game in like 2002 (that was the release time in europé), such a radically beautiful game at that time!

That's not accurate, Max Payne 2 does support native widescreen on OG xbox

Smart.

Also, if you didn't know, you are sponsoring the hold up of "next gen" by buying that trash.
Oh my sinister aims go far past holding up next gen. It's my intention to talk so many people into buying a Series S that we actually reverse advancement and have consoles start actually going backwards and regressing. Each person I can convince to buy one contributes to my master plan.

having issues with DOA4

Got DOA2 Ultimate and 3 (Ultimate says I own but also has a buy to own button like wtf...3 is fine)

DOA4 simply says oops there was an error when you try to buy and Ive tried to buy it like 12 times...problem is im getting charged for each of those attempts even though im not actually buying anything, or getting emails or anything in order history...support at least said she sees the failed attempts so Ill see what happens tomorrow if i can get all the charges removed.
so this morning it was a total of 7 charges, 4 of them refunded, so 3 charges for nothing.
anyone successfully buy DOA4 from the store here? im scared to try it again now that i have 3 charges for it on my bank account but i dont own the game still, and microsoft is acting like I havent paid them for it either.

EDIT

So finally i got the refunds for all of the charges and its all sorted out. Now when can i actually buy the game!

It's Vert- on original Xbox.
I'm not sure if they did a 4x4 scale on 640x360 for a 2560x1440 resolution that then upscales to 4k or if they went full 6x6 for native 4k.
Alternatively, some manner of witchcraft could have allowed an expanded resolution of the original game that then gets the 4x4 re-render of BC.

I have only played and beaten the first Timesplitters on PS2 back in the day (which was rough but good and fun) and always looked forward the others. Now the time has come ! Excellent news.

The OG really is a forgotten game. I have too played it but dont remember a single thing about it whereas the sequels have stuck with me since my first play-through. It would be interesting to see the original today.

Haven't read through every page in this thread so excuse me if this has already been asked but, many of these games aren't on Aussie stores (Manhunt i'm guessing cause it's banned but no Ridge Racer???) OR are there but unavailable to purchase (Mortal Kombat, F.E.A.R). Any idea why?

Definitely some games are disc only and not on the store. It's not yet known if there are regional differences in the stores. And to top it off, the stores appear to have some very recent glitches and are also uploading multiple games slowly, or glitching when trying to buy it.

After the glitches are fixed we'll know the answers to the other two.
