Sony would never release their eslusive PlayStation games on PC.OP I'm honestly not sure what you mean with bringing in the SteamDeck in. The SteamDeck is a open handheld PC with steamOS pre-installed and tailored to it. Sony would never release an open device like that.
Of course it would be great if Sony made a new handheld with a storefront that is less rigorous to attract more indies.
You mean small, weird and dead, just like the Vita? What if...the PS Vita Successor is....my Dick?

Maybe that small thing would appease people like Tams , who thought Steam Deck was too big and ugly...

Oh wait, they just did it! Multiple times now! Please, stop it, Sony! You're not supposed to...
Nice strawman, but I never said that.
They are only releasing games several years after exclusivity on the PlayStation. Having an exclusive platform is still their focus.
Now, you could make the argument that the PlayStation is already like a Steam console, as it is x86 hardware running a form of BSD (you do know what they is, right?) But what you were going on about in the OP sounds like you want Sony to partner with Valve for some sort of handheld device. Why would they? They already have their own OS running on x86 hardware with games. Why give up revenue for a partner they don't need? If we're going down this route anyway, then any hardware running on OS is a 'Steam Deck'. There's already a name for that: a computer. So you're essentially saying Sony should release a handheld computer that is to play games on.
And the biggest difference between Sony and Valve? Sony actually bother to release games.
And there was no need to go that far with the insults.
So another flop? What if...the PS Vita Successor is....my Dick?
That's rather silly to immediately judge any argument that uses the term 'strawman' as likely a bad one.I agree the insults are uncalled for and lame, but in my experience every single time someone used the term "strawman" they turned out to be devoid of of any real arguement worth listening to.
Hopefully your bucking the trend, but it seems unlikely as you seem to be one of those in denial about the Sony pc release freight train that is on a Collison course with day and date.
Your mom was satisfied.
The first uncalled insult was calling this thread the dumbest thread of the year. If you are too sensible to take on the heat, maybe you should think twice before offending anyone. That's rather silly to immediately judge any argument that uses the term 'strawman' as likely a bad one.
I agree that it is a term that is thrown around too much, but is not what M mhirano did? Claiming I wrote something I never did and then basing their argument/insult on it (very likely because it was easy to prove me wrong based on it)? Seems like a textbook one to me.
And how I am I wrong about the PlayStation PC releases? It's been widely reported and makes obvious sense that they are only releasing older games (note: not 'old') on PC. One that have run their course on PS5 and therefore aren't likely to see significantly more sales there.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really looking forward to some of the PS exclusive games coming to PC. I don't have (and have never had) a PlayStation, so I'll get to enjoy some games I've not been able to. I've had friends go and about Uncharted and not been able to join in.
Your OP is uninformed and silly though. But that's hardly to the level you've taken it.The first uncalled insult was calling this thread the dumbest thread of the year. If you are too sensible to take on the heat, maybe you should think twice before offending anyone.

My OP is full of evidence (for those who can read of course).Your OP is uninformed and silly though. But that's hardly to the level you've taken it.
But if you want to insult away, go ahead.
I feel people don't give Sony enough credit for why the Vita failed. Most agree the hardware is/was terrific. It was Sony's poor decisions that led to its failure and it's the same company making the same type of decisions, like $70 games and nickel & diming the customer at every turn. Not trying to disparage Sony, love the PS5 and their move to PC, but if they released a new handheld today it would share Vita'a fate.
