From VG Tech:

The versions tested were 1.002.000 on PS5 and 1.2.0.49100 on the Xbox Series consoles. Game codes provided by Ubisoft.

Timestamps:
00:00 - PS5
06:15 - Xbox Series X
12:29 - Xbox Series S

PS5 uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 2880x1620 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 2560x1440. Native resolution pixel counts at 2880x1620 seem to be common on PS5. PS5 seems to use a form of temporal upsampling that can reconstruct a 3840x2160 resolution.

Xbox Series X uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 2880x1620 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 2560x1440. Native resolution pixel counts at 2880x1620 seem to be common on Xbox Series X. Xbox Series X seems to use a form of temporal upsampling that can reconstruct a 3840x2160 resolution.

Xbox Series S uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 1600x900 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 1280x720. Native resolution pixel counts at 1600x900 seem to be common on Xbox Series S. Xbox Series S seems to use a form of temporal upsampling that can reconstruct a 1920x1080 resolution.

Note that performance can vary noticeably in mass events.

This is pretty much identical with a microscopic edge for XSX. 1 FPS difference in minimums and slightly more tearing on PS5. To be added to the list of the vast majority of games having resolution and essentially performance parity between the systems.

The performance in the beta was pretty terrible IMO, very rarely a smooth 60fps. So it's better now but still very unstable?

Overall it's very slighty better on XSX but by less than 1% in both average fps and screen-tearing metric and a bit better by percentile frame-time.

But what with those 33ms-66ms frame-time drops on Xbox series? Those will be noticeable even with VRR TV.

It's basically using adaptive vsync. Whenever it dips under 60, vsync gets disabled to minimize input lag at the cost of screen tear.
That’s weird because dipping under 60fps used to be how I lowered vsync lag on pc and I even kept vsync on!! No torn frames, no input lag.

This game is available on 8th gen, right?
I didn't see any performance analysis for those machines. Anybody know how well it runs?

Edit: Found one - Riders Republic, all consoles

It's not a frame-counted advanced analysis, but it's good enough to show that the 8th gen all run at a stable 30.

What the hell happened to the Series S version? 900p and drops to 720p? What a joke! We are back to XBOX 360 resolutions, for fuck's sake. Welcome to 2005 guys! And the game does not seem to be a technical marvel, to be honest.

I wish MS would have done with a 6 Tflops machine with higher bandwidth. Or even better, an XBOX Series X digital edition for 400 bucks like Sony with PS5, that would've been so nice. I know it's 100 bucks more than Series S, but I think the difference between those pieces of hardware is more than worth it, right?

Blame ubisoft. Not Microsoft.... or the console itself.

On PC its actually one of the hardest Ubisoft ga,mes to run well, harder than Valhalla and Odyssey.. My 980ti was dropping into the 40's constantly at 1080p.

Is this game launching for last gen consoles? Because if that's the case the results might be pretty horrible.

Pretty sure its cross gen yeah. I mean it was the beta i played and the final game may be better optimized but yeah the beta was way harder to run than all other recent Ubisoft games.

I have a feeling that these cross gen games with low resolution on the next gen consoles are memory bound.
