THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM ANNIVERSARY EDITION FAQ by Bethesda

TintoConCasera

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Those videos mention including lots of creation club things.

Are those mods? Or what?

Will my achievements/trophies carry over?

Any achievement/trophy progress earned playing on Skyrim Special Edition will carry over to the Anniversary Edition, EXCEPT when upgrading the PlayStation 4 version of the game to the PlayStation 5 version.
So..... trophies won't be carried over, lol.

I have no expectations. I just want more details since they called out enhanced graphics specifically.
Yeah i think they meant FPS and Res. mostly, cant seem them squeezing anything out of that ancient engine anymore. Maybe some lighting stuff. But surely no raytracing or anything.

Of course
Will it just be an option to select in one of the menus?

(Ive been teaching myself spanish, and I have found playing video games in spanish is really helpful way to get some of that "immersion" type training).

I believe you do it through the console settings.

When are we getting more details on these enhanced graphics?

USD $49.99/EUR €54.99

The fuck is up with that? Usually it's $10 = €10 (which still means a higher price in the EU).

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
I did that with Jedi Fallen Order and I wish I hadn’t, I should’ve saved it for a new playthrough and trophy run in the future because it’s such a great game. Instead they all just auto popped, at first I was like yay, but then regret settled in.
Not all of them will pop. Most will, but not all immediately. Sometimes you have to do a specific task. Nevertheless, my plan for Skyrim is not import the save, except for some trophies I don't care to get.

Hope they put the option to buy up soon. I'd like to know how much it will be in Canada

Diablo 2 is $40USD but its $60 in Canada.

The upgrade alone will probably be $30 Canadian instead of a straight or close conversion from $19.99 to $24.99. We always get fucked over. It may end up being more than 30, who knows. I’d be shocked if it was only 20 or 25.

they're finally going to patch in the dovahkiin club subscription that enables players the ability to carry an extra 200 kg of loot and receive a free monthly stipend of 1000 dragon nuggets

Does that effectively mean that achievements/trophies are disabled for all of the 'Creation Club' content? Is there anything extra from the Anniversary Edition content that doesn't disable achievements/trophies?
Paid mods do not disable trophies or achievements.
Free ones do.

having any sort of graphic improvements would have made a big swatch of the audience bite immediately, i wonder why they didnt even try?

The game is unplayable without SkyUI for me, so will there be an SKSE release for this?

What upgrade? They havnt announced new textures, shaders, ray tracing support, dlss or anything. To my knowledge there is no visual upgrade announced so far (I'm talking PC, I'm not asking about resolution bumps on new systems)

PC is the exact same. This isn’t a new release of the game, just the dlc community stuff bundled together. That’s all this has ever been.

Upgrading from SE to AE costs money this time? For PC the SE was a free upgrade for us to bought the og and LE and that had a bigger jump than this, the fuck bethesda.

Fine price for content, I'm in.

I've backed up my current game, so I can easily run my 1.5.97 game whenever I want. Steam doesn't care, it just runs it.

AE is basically two parts. One for everyone, one is optional.
The first part is the update to SE itself, which is a (supposedly) improved recompile of the game (back end improvements, etc). It comes with 4 pieces of CC, including a quest one. This part is free, just like SE was.
The second part is the AE bundle, which is all CC to date - an estimated "Most efficient purchasing" price of about $140 separately. Quests, weapons, armour, spells, etc. Again, optional.

If you don't want it, don't let the game update. It's not like you haven't been warned. Nexus Mods even did a whole fucking news article on it and included a guide to keeping your current setup.

*Will there be a physical version of the Anniversary Edition?

Yes, there will be physical copies of the Anniversary Edition available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems. Please note that while the physical edition contains a game disc, internet access is required to redeem and download the Creation Club content included in the Anniversary Edition.
LOL

Physical but not too much physical... "LOL ANNIVERSARY EDITION"

I don't understand this. If there are new Trophies on PS5 only it should mean that console is getting a native version? right? So a native PS5 version without a physical PS5 version?

If you would've asked me, 10 years ago if we would still be paying for and playing Skyrim in 2021 I would've given you a question back.
"What does the five fingers say to the face?"

Yet, here we are. And this is what Microsoft paid billions for? TES 6 better be 5 years worth of a good game seeing how it should've released back in 2016.

They're not gonna give away all that creation club content for free....£16 isn't bad for all of it.

It's still a free upgrade with an anniversary edition optional extra.

Still a bit confused about the creation club mods. Are they actually included in the game itself, or just open to download for free?.
I mean the wording makes it sound like they are included in the game itself, but how big would that make the download/install!.

4 CC items are coming for free to all Special Edition owners; Survival Mode, Saints and Seducers, Rare Curios, and the new Fishing. Those who upgrade receive all current CC content, and a bunch of new previously unreleased CC content. The digital purchase of Skyrim from here on out will be the Anniversary Edition.

The Anniversary Edition is supposedly coming out in three days but I am not seeing it listed anywhere. Not on Amazon, GameStop. Not on PS Store. Not on Microsoft Store.

What is the deal with this game?

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
I did that with Jedi Fallen Order and I wish I hadn’t, I should’ve saved it for a new playthrough and trophy run in the future because it’s such a great game. Instead they all just auto popped, at first I was like yay, but then regret settled in.
Why can't you just play it again?

Still no info on the current gen upgrades, I get the feeling that if it was anything notable that they would be using that information now to try and sell this version to people.
I'm still disappointed that the only new content is actually created by the community rather than the actual Elder Scrolls team in Bethesda. I'm not saying that the content is necessarily going to be bad because of it's source but paying for modder created content isn't really something that encourages me to want to buy this upon release.
I can't remember now but when they re-released this the first time as the Special Edition did it benefit from the additional development time and work a lot better out of the box or was it still bug ridden at the time? I honestly can't remember what it was like when it launched now. In some ways I can see the benefits of this release if it meant that they'd finally sorted out all the bugs in the game, you know, after the game first being released twenty years ago.
I really don't think this is going to be for me, I still feel that Morrowind and Oblivion were far better games than this, Morrowind in particular. For all the criticism that people like Nintendo and Rockstar get for re-releasing games or not releasing new games, these Bethesda style re-releases just seem to be by far the least enticing for me. Who knows, maybe the current versions will review really well and they'll surprise me but how much better it ends up being, I would genuinely be surprised though.
