Fine with me. It will make some people happy while taking away absolutely nothing from the overall experience, so why not? It’s a fairly banal thing at this point anyway.
I thought it was far more interesting that they let you be an amputee with a prosthetic limb. I’ve never seen that before and it’s pretty awesome. I went ahead and gave myself a bionic left arm

If this isn’t relevant to you then it shouldn’t matter, more choices for people is never a bad thing. Honestly it says more about the people causing a fuss over this sort of thing being included than it does about “non binary” people.
I’m a male and I identify as one because that’s what I am. I’m a binary person I guess according to the people that use these definitions? That said, this being an option isn’t going to change that for me and never will. If this is is an issue for you then you’ve got other problems to deal with instead of worrying about how people like to be identified.

I frankly don't have that much of problem. I mean...it appeases to what? 1% of the fanbase? Good for them, I guess.

It really doesn't matter to me but my two cents are they particularly when it comes to racing I'm not so informed as if it's necessary to even state that you are either a man or woman.
Now if a bunch of racing associations were going to have transgender or whatever the non-binary flag falls under and I'm sure we would have heard about this by now so I don't really see the need to even include this but this is the world we live in.
At the end of the day it's just a choice but I can understand the purest or traditional type person being more offended.

As much as I hate wokeness, this isn't a big deal at all. It only affects your own player avatar so it can be ignored and it's there for those who want it.
I kinda wish they'd drop the character creator altogether. People in racing games is the worst especially generic PS3 looking models.

If a person wants to be addressed as ""they" and beside him is a group of random people who are also addressed as "they" since there's more than one person, if you are talking to someone and say "they like Forza Horizon 5", which people are you describing? The single they person, or the group?

Non-binary or gender neutral is when someone feels they are neither male or female by definition. They want to be who they want to be without the default copy and paste that genders entail.
I didn't understand all this stuff (i'm 43 and pretty new to all these recent terms) until I spoke with someone who was gender neutral and they explained it to me. I totally get it and understand.
I also had a transgender friend who transitioned from male to female - she didn't understand this either and her view was "they are attention seekers" - so even within the circles of transgender, there are non-understanding views too.
However someone wants to be known as doesn't impact others - so let them identify as whomever they want to. Even at my workplace, I have to specify in my email signature what my pronoun is as we have gender neutral people within the business. I get external companies question this when I email them.
Basically, if you are a good person, that is all I care about. If you aren't, well I file them under the "arsehole" directory as regardless of how someone identifies themselves as, we all have one.

You would say "Those people over there" not "they over there". It's not 100% infallible. Or you address them by name. If in doubt - that person over there or those people over there.

In this case, if someone wants to be non-binary thats ok as this game will probably nag you with narrative, so you might as well be called what you want to be called. I remember FH2 and the first half hour was some annoying British NPC pressuring you to do tutorials.

I understand what they claim they are. My question is, did you ask them to further define what being male or female is? Because as soon as you press them for a consistent definition of terms, it's when the whole totem crumbles. That's from where the stupidity comes from, and why it all is basically "I'm a girl that likes pants and sometimes watch sports, therefore a part of me must be male, so I'm non-binary".
