I mean it's a customization option so it's fine. It's not like they're forcing a character into the story.
Why not include it. I would even though I think it's all made up.

Might as well just let us be the car then. That's how all my Hot Wheels functioned.

It reminds me this old nerd joke :

"There's TEN sort of people on earth :
1- People that understand binary
2- The others."

Ps : I don't care myself and if that make some people happy good for them.

Non binary is bullshit.
You are either one or another. You cannoy be nothing. Human biology is not like that...
It doesn't make anyone happy. These non binary people never even complaint.... it's all the other crazy people who scream for them and make them look bad

Game set in Mexico

Destroys the Spanish language using inclusive pronouns.

Go fuck yourself Microsoft. You don't respect our culture at all. This is what happens when recruiters go to western college campuses to hire. Proper folk from Latin America would slap these entitled kiddies right on the spot.

And I am not even talking about the biology angle. If you want to respect Hispanic culture respecting the language is a must. Otherwise stick to Forza Horizon Anglosphere/commonwealth/five eyes edition.

pronouns are all well and good but does the game actually ever refer to the player in the third person? Typically a narrator would refer to characters in the third person but does this even happen in a Forza game or is simply just to declare and show on a players profile? If it's the latter then why even bother putting any pronouns on at all? Or am i going to get flamed on Xbox Live if I use the wrong one when shouting about someone's shit driving because I first didn't check their profile before reacting?

So.. Why even make a driver in a driving game? You're behind a wheel, what's the point?

Can't really help but feel like this is just creating a problem in order to fix it.

I don't care either way, I just don't really see what this is supposed to achieve.

This series features a radio host that will frequently refer to the player's "character" and has ALWAYS referred to the player as they/them"

What this game has added is the ability to have the game refer to you as he or she.

But of course anti-woke idiots will eat this up as pandering.

I am not sure about pronouns usage, but if they are in, they should make sure to be all-in. There will be always someone left behind if you are not careful. So, you either stick to the current language usage or do deep research and make sure you are covering all the loopholes. Otherwise it can backfire to the studio.

What it is used in English instead he/she? It?

In Portuguese there is nothing to use instead Ele (he) ou Ela (she) yet.

It’s not a sim. It’s an arcade racer and it’s open world

I would have no issue with this at all but if you dont agree with it you get all sorts of hate. Interesting how they want you to be forced to use your words to their will. Only Their rights matter. You can be whatever, without consequence of losing your job or being kicked off the platform etc, but then I should also have the right to not have to call you by what you think you are without losing my job or being kicked off line. Equality.

Does that work for other languages or is just for English?
It doesn't, it's wrong at least from my language, as seen in here:

Don't try to make this a thing in our glorious gendered language (by default). Or at very least do it right.

It's on/něm, ona/ní, oni/nich. What they wrote there, definitely broke my brain and everyone in charge of our language now rotating in grave.

But still rather don't do this.

Absolutely unplayable
You don't need this shit for gendered language. It just shows the ignorance of someone (obviously from English speaking country) who put it there.

I mean, yeah. Games like this used to be completely gender neutral. Now they're not. Now they're "tell everyone everything about you".

What if I don't want to? Can I skip this whole thing?

In English "They/Them" is used to describe a group of more than one person that is gender agnostic.

"They went to the park", "Have you seen them at the park"

"It/They/Them" is normally used to describe one or more genderless objects "It" being the singular.

"It was seen in the park", "They were seen in the park", "Have you seen them in the park?"

Calling a person an "It" would be seen as extremely degrading and lacking respect.

Non-Binary parlance says that "They" is to be used in all instances where "It" would otherwise be used.

I was just replying to the part about the driver and why they made it a “character”
But maybe ask in the OT about what you can skip or omit?

Let me demonstrate, why it's not needed in languages like Spanish, Czech, etc. You know by default what prononun person uses in first or second sentence, which you hear from them.

So let's presume "Nice to meet you" in English.

Now in Czech:

- She "Ráda tě poznavám"
- He "Rád tě poznávám"
- They "Rádi tě poznaváme" < I don't think that anyone here ever will use they like that. Non-binary people here, just have to take the chad approach and accept any/all

English people are jelly, that they don't have some glorious gendered language.

But with all of this, it's still means that it's written badly in the game, grammatically incorrect. And I have dyslexia, I hate the verbose grammar of my language, but still, this is something to be laugh at if you would talk like that. It's IQ below 70 level.
