California prisoner confesses in letter to newspaper that he killed 2 child molesters behind bars: report

Good.

The murder of tried and convicted child molesters/traffickers, yes. I will celebrate that. Have fun up on your high horse I guess.
It’s pretty sad that not wanting to celebrate two people getting their heads bashed open is considered riding on a “high horse” now. These pedophiles may have had it coming, but what this guy did was disgusting.

Are you going write like a retard? You make fun of others saying "y'all", yet you wrote like a retard. Keep your (high) quality post brap brap , do not let yourself sink below your threshold of quality post.

that is crazy. it is interesting how there is a pecking order and justice even in prison.

not gonna lie, i rest easy knowing those people have been entirely removed from society.

It's weird that they allow them TV in prison, just give them old books.
TV keeps them stupider. plus you don't have to worry about them hiding things in books or using them.

He told the guard, who did not believe him until he saw the mess. Do they not have cameras covering every inch of that place to see? I work in a public middle school and there are literally hundreds of cameras all over that building.

There's always blind spots and the prisoners know where they are. Do you thing every toilet and shower cubicle has it's own camera?

I mean, that’s two more scumbags off the streets, but then dying is the easy way out. He should’ve left them to carry on suffering inside, because you just know they weren’t having a good time.

I'm kind of conflicted. On one hand, eh. On the other, oh well. It reminds me of a guy I knew who got busted with err..talcum powder and was facing some real time. We were hanging out and not surprisingly he was shitting himself. Then he said he was going to ask to be put in segregation. I told him if he was going to do that he might as well cut out the middleman and jump in a woodchipper.

This was done in CA. A place where the death penalty will never exist ever again.

then it sounds like the citizens of "CA" have taken the democratic decision that people are not to be executed.

who is some prison guy to violate their right to self-determination? he had absolutely no right to do that

and who are you to support him? are there other democratic decisions that you think ought to be violated because you personally disagree with them? seems like you want anarchy where people only obey laws that they agree with.

Well yeah, you work in a building full of extremely dangerous and unstable individuals, they just work in a prison.

That's not it. I believe most people in CA want it, the problem is the Governor controls it. The reason why Charles Mansion wasn't executed is because the Governor at the time abolished the death penalty before he could be executed. CA voters brought it back, but then that same Governor was elected again decades later and abolished it again. We should stop this here as this can easily derail into politics.

Child molesters are human shit who need to be flushed down the toilet. If they're in an upside down state like CA where they won't be executed, then good on the prisoners in their facility for doing the world a favor.

the governor whom the people of "CA" democratically elected? sounds like they don't want it that badly then

aside from that, the state executing people is a serious issue and should require supermajority support to enact. and regardless of any of this, prisoners of all people should not be the ones to determine who lives and who dies - people who are sentenced to death in other areas are done so by a jury of their peers, and after that they get several appeals.

greater than 10% of people on death row are innocent (i believe this is after they have exhausted their appeals). they did not receive the death penalty, but if they had, that would mean there was a 1 - (0.9^2) = 19% chance he killed an innocent person. could you live with that?

Are you seriously trying to defend child molesters?

Are you seriously trying to defend child molesters?

that is an immature and quite frankly idiotic response to what i wrote.

not only is what i said perfectly compatible with wanting child molesters to be punished with prison time, none of what i said is incompatible with actually wanting the death penalty for child molesters (i don't, but i could do)

to remind you, i simply said that:

  • the death penalty should only be legalised by democratic decision of the majority of citizens (and ideally a supermajority, since it's so drastic)
  • the death penalty should only be enacted after a lengthy and extensive appeals process to ensure that an innocent person is not being executed
  • the death penalty should be carried out by humane and dignified means, not by a prisoner with a rusty shank or whatever it is that he used
  • convicted prisoners of all people do not have the right to override a democratic decision taken to prevent the state from executing people

people like you screaming "but child molesters!" are the reason why governments can get away with all kinds of shit, like spying on their own citizens, detention without trial and secret courts. or "but catching terrorists!", that one's a classic. either everyone has civil rights or no one does

California state prison is significantly different from anywhere else. Much more racially divided, most sex offenders are in pc and would never be in gp they’d get killed first day. Convicts have kids and families and nothing but time.

The victim here is the poor soul who was not listened to when he requested a transfer to the high security area.

I am not saying he should be applauded or released, he must be in there for good reason, but surely we can chip in and buy him a new cane?

I understand why extra judicial killing is wrong and indefensible.

But also, fuck em. You harm the innocent and defenseless in that way, you can fuck off and die, or at least never leave prison. I’d only have much empathy for someone wrongly accused.

Not something to be celebrated. There are many innocent people that have been convicted and are in prison and I don't think hardened criminals should be the barometer of morality for our society.

Child molesters in politics is sadly nothing new. It’s been rumoured, and supposedly well documented, that there is a pedophile ring within the British government.
It’s not just politics, it’s basically any institution that allows people access to children. Somehow these fucks just find their way in and get access. The Mormon church is paying out hundreds of millions to settle a class action lawsuit about their ties with the Boy Scouts, every month it seems like another pedophile ring in the Catholic Church is uncovered, something like 10% of kids going through public school in the US get abused by a teacher…it’s sick and my worst fear as a parent
