GOALKEEPER REWRITE

A brand new goalkeeper system brings a new level of intelligence to the last line of defence, unlocking more reliable shot-stopping and smarter decision-making between the posts. Goalkeeper positioning personality replicates the different styles of keepers throughout the game - to represent the lightning-fast reflexes of world-class shot stoppers.

TRUE BALL PHYSICS

Real-world data imported into FIFA 22 takes the game’s ball physics to a new level of realism. Tuned parameters including speed, swerve, air drag, air resistance, ground friction, and rolling friction mean every touch, trap, shot, volley, pass, and dribble will look, move, and fly like the real thing.

EXPLOSIVE SPRINT

A new gameplay mechanic that changes the dynamic of one-on-one situations, Explosive Sprint gives you more control over acceleration when dribbling or defending. Lure opponents in and choose when to unleash your full speed to get away from the defender as you drive your team forward in attack.

NEW ATTACKING TACTICS

Set up your team with different styles in each half of the pitch with new attacking tactics that give you more control over how you play in FIFA 22: keep the ball in your half and explode into attack with fast build up in the opponent’s, play direct from box to box, or line up in your own unique style.

Players who have subscribed to EA Play on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 can start their early access 10-hour trial of FIFA 22 from Wednesday, September 22, 2021, with an expected release time of 6 pm BST UK time.

This must be the first year I have zero interest in either of the big franchises.

FIFA 22 looks like every fifa game for the last decade. PES 22 just looks like a car crash demo with no game modes.

Truly a dark age for fans of the sport. We're relying on indie devs to save us now.

Yeah when EA found out there wasn't even going to be another proper PES... they were just like...

Oh wow, can't wait to give EA money in exchange for some fake virtual cards.
It's weird it honestly feels like they add a feature one year... keep it in for maybe two years and then stealthily remove it and then add it back in a few years under a new name like "wow new technology"

The only major change to FIFA in maybe the last 20 years has been proper (ish) ball physics and 360 degree dribbling, and I suppose skill moves (which are still way better than PES bollocks). All the other "improvements" just feel like fake features that don't actually do anything.

So i'm to assume the PS5 version is the version with all those special new animations? No matter which version I buy so long as it's the PS5 version then that will have all the special new fangled shit on there? Cause I noticed there is a standard and then a more expensive version of Fifa 22 on PS5...

Yeah the ps5 version will have the next gen animations and motions the expensive version just give you ultimate team stuff and 4 day early access.

Well I had to finally bend the knee to EA for this variant of Cod, I mean Fifa..

My lads got into Football and was hooked on Fifa 21 via Gamepass, I was hooked on Pes.

Bought the ultimate edition and was giving it a fair crack last night, it took ages to get used to it, it felt weird and floaty compared to Pes' stiff but on point gameplay. I was ready to write it off but then it clicked..

I.. like it, even this FUT stuff was alien to me, in Pes I just built the England team and took it online, it were simple, I thought FUT would just want money for what I wanted to do (build the England squad again..) but lo and behold it wasnt to bad, got eight of the players with relative ease, took it online for one match and got trounced 9-1, might need more practice granted :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Like I say though, havent played a Fifa since the Ps1 days so I was never invested in the other iterations, as people have said it could well be just a rehash of the same games from the last ten years but for this old sod it isnt too bad

I think i'll have another go :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Same here. I assume it's a bug, you get 10 hours for the next gen version and another 10 hours for the last gen version (but can play the entire 20 hours on the next gen version).

Yeah it's a bug

i mean thats an exploit which requires action, and i certainly didnt do any of them that

This sounds plausible, sweet

This game is exactly the same as 21. Like almost zero difference. At least to me
but...but...the goalkeeper got a REWRITE and there are TRUE ball physics and don't forget new attacking tactics!!

it's the same shite every year. something gets overhauled and improved (apparently) but they're just tweaking shit about or removing it so they can add it in later. FIFA has been more or less the same game for a long time now.

Last time I actually sat and played Fifa it looked like this

It's a step up for me personally but I do get that it's probably the same old shite as before, but then again it's EA, anyone expecting the moon should know better by now, it's the reason i'll never by another Call of duty as that game I do know is the same old shit as I used to buy it these past few years

Most AAA is total dump these days and doesnt look to get any better, sadly.

It's a football game. They can't change That much between releases. It's not like you can equip players with thrusters or swords or whatever.

They'll improve visuals, animations and add more content, but those aren't always massive changes when comparing to the previous iteration at the default camera angle.

Why not do a football game where you can fight or destroy each other. This is gaming, anythings possible :messenger_tears_of_joy:

It's like anything now though, people want hyper 'realism' (in gaming, what a joke) and it just stagnates to what you say as it cant deviate at all.

I hear the animation system is noticeably smoother this time. More fluid like PES on the field and less start-stop.
Can anyone confirm?

I'm American, so can someone please explain what this game is about? It looks like that sport 5 to 8 year-olds play until they're big enough to play a real sport.
