I just nabbed an Xbox Series X thanks to Wario64, picking it up this Saturday at my local best buy. My body is ready for Halo.
Sign up for Halo insider and Xbox insider asap to get invited this weekend if they open it up a bit more like they said

Man this game handles amazing, the gunplay and overall combat feel is so dope. I been learning how to use the grappling hook for movement and such and it really opens the game up

I'm super excited for what it means for the campaign. I just can't wait.

Imagine grappling towards a target, stopping just shy of their position, then switching to the repulsor and sending them off a mountain or something.

The more I dig into this game the more I love it. Like the respawn meters or pressing down on the d pad to see what’s nearby

Looks good. I do feel the repulser is a bit OP though. You can easily push vehicles off the map with it.

The overwhelming positivity of this Beta is amazing. 343 finally has a huge success on their hands and it's all from listening to what the gamers want. The delay was worth it and hopefully shuts some people down.

Halo 4 and 5 had a lot of good things in them, they just never fully came together. That makes since when you consider they were their first games, and both were made in less than ideal circumstances. 343 has always had obvious talent.

Wonder if it's SFS in the work? Because those are indeed some amazing textures, even in 120FPS mode at lower resolution the details are still great.
I played on Low on PC (when streaming I have a 3060Ti) and they looked great, Then on Ultra ... they looked top tier, then on Series S they looked incredible again.
Slipspace engine is top notch

Beta, whenever it decided to run decently was amazing!
Some weapons need slight adjusting to their TTK imho but overall it was fun.

PC needs some optimizations tho. My 3080 was supposedly chugging out 170 - 200FPS on Ultra at 1080p, but frametimes were spiking horribly all over the place and it felt nothing close to even smooth sadly.

It does look nice for a cross gen game, but HI is not an eye melter. I have said it plenty of times before. I think that they will overhaul the grfx next year for the XsX.

Still, it plays great and it was incredible to play every game on EU servers during the beta. I can’t wait for the weekend

How do I know if I’m an insider or not lol. I’m pretty sure I signed up at some point…..

I heard this game will be available for all insiders soon.

What I love most about what's taking place right now is how 343 are proving what was always clear from the start: that they're not only a super talented studio, they're easily among Microsoft's best. They've always been this good. They just needed a proper opportunity to make THEIR Halo game on their own engine, something which was promised to them initially after Halo 4, but then the plan just changed on them.

First they didn't want to release Halo 4 on 360. They wanted to launch it with Xbox One on a new engine. Then after Halo 4, they again wanted to make their version of their Halo game with their own engine, but then that couldn't happen. This is essentially our very first time seeing 343 get the kind of time they've wanted to make a Halo game on their own engine. Halo 4 came only 2 years after Reach, and Halo 5 only 3 years after that. This one took a while, but looking like it was worth it.

Overhaul you say? It looks downright incredible already on Series X, and campaign likely looks better.

Can you have multiple equipment at the same time in the campaign?

Yeah it does look good already. But I do feel like they will squeeze more out of it in the next 18 months

Well, that was always the plan. This game will be the platform for Halo for the next 10 years or so. There won't be a Halo Infinite 2, at least not anytime soon.

They did in the campaign gameplay demo last year July! He dropped the shield wall, and then later in that same encounter against the same enemy, used the grapple to stick the enemy with a spike grenade.

I'm pretty sure that the grappling hook isn't considered equipment in the campaign. I'm fairly certain that it is a base ability.

Never have I ever seen someone be so impressed with texture work. Yes they look good, but we've had games a generation ago with very good texture work.

The geometry and physics all scream last gen.

On a side note. I wish they would open the beta up to PC players.

It runs well on PC, considering things are still unoptimised.

I have an ancient 1060 but I can still run it at native 1080p at a pretty solid 60fps with dips here and there. Even at the lowest settings the game is still a few rungs above the basic Xbox One.

I hope so. I like my GaaS games. I hate it when they burn games to the ground every few years, split the player base, and make change for the sake of change.

I get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing Rainbow Six Siege will be around for at least another 5 years, maybe indefinitely.

Here We Go Eye Roll GIF

The weapons fall, bounce/slide ever so slightly and spark on impact while the grenade rolls. The Spartan fall animation is excellent, showcasing proper weight.

There's nothing remotely last gen screaming about either the game's geometry or physics. You can see intricate model detail on objects like the warthog, right down to the suspension and and other small details such as the wheels. This level of detail is present in many parts of the game. The physics are the way they are for the purpose of the game, and there are plenty of examples that showcases the game's physics are actually rather good. You can really see the warthog suspension changing and adjusting to the terrain it's moving on. And just what is your definition of next-gen physics for a videogame focused on fighting aliens and other super soldiers anyway? The game even has individual, piece by piece destruction of vehicles.

As far as the texture work is concerned, why wouldn't people be impressed? The quality, richness and variety on display are insane. It doesn't appear as if there is a single texture anywhere in the entire game that doesn't look unbelievable. The game's performance is also fantastic, it has incredible lighting, great atmospherics and visual effects, stunning attention to detail. Literally every thing is readable down to the smallest of decals or product labeling. Insignificant objects are packing really nice geometry and detail. So, yea, I couldn't disagree with you more, this game looks unbelievable, one of the best I've seen, and it's only just the MP. What the hell is the Campaign going to look like then?
