Deathloop takes No.1 in dominant week for PS5 | UK Boxed Charts

lh032

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
To be honest.
1) This is a GOTY contender with high reviews
2) Main platform is Playstation 5
3) Not alot of competitor

We'll see whether it stays number 1 or even under top 10 next week onwards.

Given the number of PS5s out there vs PS4/XB1s when Prey was released that seems pretty good? Though it's a shame that Arkane games never seem to sell well.
That's my biggest fear with them, they make great games but will MS keep them around if they don't sell?

I wouldn't be surprised if they merged them with Bethesda game studios to pump out more elder scrolls games quicker.

I feel like with the trailer this is just a re-skin of Bioshock Infinite,

Just because it's hyped by major media outlets doesn't make it a solid game.

Yet we see you in every UK threads repeating the same line every time. hhhm?
Because its true?. The UK is very mych digital, and seeing a game sell a few thousand physical copies tells us what exaxctly?

All physical UK sales are used for on here are console warz, cheering on games doing well when we know it represents a few thousand copies.. If we got worldwide physical sales than yeah sure, but even then we would be talking 10-20% of overall sales.

.... what? No?

it's nothing like Bioshock Infinite at all.

It's still a solid game despite whatever weird negativity you have towards it.

Plus Bioshock infinite was a good game too. Just not GOTG like we wanted.

No negative thoughts there player, just a first impression on the trailer.

Game play looks similar to Bioshock Infinite.

I'm not the one saying the data doesn't mean anything until I conveniently find it meaningful. You can't have it both ways. So were you wrong then or are you wrong now?
I was wrong then. Boxed UK charts tell us a lot... about boxed sales in the UK.

True. Meanwhile the same people who do that with UK physical game sales don't even dare try when it comes to the Japanese charts, because they know Nintendo and Switch dominate that chart pretty much permanently.

I also find it a bit weird (I saw this in the Era thread in particular) that the narrative for this specific game coming in #1 is that it isn't impressive because it didn't beat Prey's numbers, and fearmongering if Arkane are gonna get shut down. It's just so blatant sometimes.

Like, do people realize that budgets are probably vastly different between the two games, just for starters? Deathloop seems like a smaller-scale game than Prey was. Also if Returnal can be a solid venture for Sony @ 560K, I'm pretty sure Deathloop can be considered a solid commercial venture with whatever internal figures Arkane/Bethesda have considering its budget is probably not very big.

I can't see the game not turning a little profit, but all the same I don't see Arkane's fate hanging on the performance of this one single game, either. Maybe they just need to apply their type of game design to a more established, recognizable IP. I'm sure something'll be figured out.

Call us when we have digital numbers. For now, thats all we got other than media create threads and NPDs.

Interesting looking game the game is already dead and bad to some people without playing it.
