[Speculation] Bungie will once again be involved with the Halo Franchise/co-owners of I.P. with Microsoft.

Hear me out... Imagine Destiny, but everyone is a Master Chief :lollipop_grinning:

All joking aside, that would definitely be a change. They are the ones who originally created it and lets be honest here... Destiny is one of the best shooting shooters out there lol

After the handling of the Halo franchise by 343 Studios(mass departures, uncertain direction/future, delays, etc) for Microsoft I have a very strong feeling their have been "discussions" between Bungie and Microsoft to
come back aboard the I.P. that Bungie created: HALO. "Feelers sent out?" "Cross promotion discussions?"

This will either come in the form of buying the I.P. back outright from Microsoft(with agreements in place that MS will still have HALO games for their console/PC platforms day and date with future releases) or a "partial sale/co-ownership of
the I.P" where Bungie will make the Halo series available to other platforms from Sony, Nintendo and Nvidia. My gut instinct is that we'll see a "co-ownership/partnership" between Bungie and Microsoft.

Let's face it, Halo has floundered under 343 along with Microsoft's management of the I.P.

Halo needs fresh, experienced developers along with management to help guide it into the future. What better company to do that then the I.P's creator in Bungie?

P.S. Wouldn't be surprised at all to hear/read about a delay of the single player Halo Infinite Campaign until Summer 2022.

What would make more sense is Microsoft buys Bungie and Bungie has multiple studios under its wing including 343i to make Halo while the other studios under Bungie can make what they want. Halo will stay with Microsoft till XBox isn't a thing anymore.

id is a much better option for the franchise, current bungie is not the same as the old bungie - but 343 definitely doesn't deserve the halo franchise after their performances

Report me if I continue to console war
It depends how well infinite is received.
Im not a bad halo fan, i liked the first one, the story was pretty good and the crashing onto the alien world was cool.
Halo 3 for me seemed pretty boring compared to other game of 2007 and halo 5 seem like a component 60fps shooter but with a boring story and rather tedious gameplay, so I dont know what halo fans really want, but for me personally i want infinite to have good story and doing something fresh gameplay wise.

Makes totally sense.

Escape the shackles after 11 years, only to come back and pick up the mess left by the former team. "hmm.. let´s pull a genisys! And start over this ****!"

Bungie actually destroy Halo before they left by adding sprint into Reach Bungie is a double agent and not to be trusted. 343 actually fixed Sprint now in Infinite.

Whatever it takes to end the sjw route the series is taking, im sick of it, this is media, games, films, tv, its not real. Lets stop the soyness, we just want to see the hero as a hench geezer with big muscle and massive cock to force in a big tit and arse fake slag.

This is the worst thread I have seen in a while, seems like they trying to secretly slam 343 by saying they aren't up to the task and wrap it up some BS.
And the speculation is garbage, the last thing MS would ever do is release halo to other platforms.

I do believe that MS would be at least thinking about Bungie working on Halo again.

I doubt Bungie wants it, and Microsoft would NEVER sell it back in any way shape or form. It would be because they hired the studio to make it, that's all, no ownership. The very idea of Halo on Playstation, because MS let it go, is utterly insane.

Sorry, but Microsoft isn't selling the Halo IP to Bungie. Not a chance. You realize that Halo isn't just the FPS game that releases once every 5 years right? Halo is a multi-medium IP for Microsoft. Toys, merchandize, TV show, books, comics, etc. It makes zero business sense for Microsoft sell the IP to an external company.

Or a "partial sale/co-ownership of the I.P" where Bungie will make the Halo series available to other platforms from Sony, Nintendo and Nvidia.

Master Chief is literally the face of Xbox (is printed on internal parts of the consoles) but sure they will sell off Halo.... Right after Nintendo sells Mario.

Honest question... How high are you right now?

Sounds like an expensive legal mess with no positive outcome for MS.

I'd actually like to see them do what Activision does with Call of Duty and have a rotation of a couple studios each working on their own Halo or different parts of the same Halo (campaign, multiplayer..) but not for yearly releases.

It's difficult to imagine a lot of things when you only talk in console war templates.
I've never even heard of a console war template.
I would normally quietly saunter past anybody on here who used the descriptor war in relation to infantile interactions that happen between some people on places like this but listen, please don't assume things of me.
There has never been and will never be perfection produced by any game studio on any piece of hardware but don't assume that when somebody mentions something in relation to this that there is anything more going on than somebody mentioning something in relation to this. You're just playing into the very thing that you proclaim to be unhappy about. 🤷‍♂️

Is this an alt of the guy who called the Bethesda acquisition like 8 months before anyone and then bumped the thread and told everyone to eat crow?

What you are saying doesn't make any sense. You are talking about Microsoft selling Halo at least partially, how on earth would that benefit them?

What need does Microsoft have to sell Halo? Do they need money? No.

So what's the upside for them?

If you said they were going to buy Bungie or make a deal with them to develop Halo then at least you would make a little sense lol.

Not gonna happen dude. Op that is some stupid shit. Ms owns halo. Why would they give up any ownership? Why would bungie want to work on halo? They didnt want that. Your logic is flawed bro

This would be just kind of a silly post if you dumped it into a Halo thread. Making a big show of its own thread with a 'bookmark this thread' preface? You're nuts. I hope someone takes you up on that bookmark and bumps it like once a year till the end of time.

That’d be cool. It’d be like a slightly less hype version of Spider-Man joining the MCU. It’s rare for a developer and a game franchise to be so intrinsically connected and then separated (MGS comes to mind), so this is a rare opportunity to make a big splash. Here is hoping.

This thread should be locked unless OP has anything to provide besides a feeling that would lend credibility to this wild theory

343 stinks. They need to do something. Shit, I would play a id software Halo game.

Excellent point here. The HALO universe should branch out or should have already branched out. It did to some extent with it's RTS games
What were you thinking?

P.S: Next time you have "a strong feeling" about something, throw your keyboard away.

I explained to him the theory. No need to bash. Try bashing me instead. But be warned, you'll be eating your words after HALO Infinite flops and Microsoft is left holding an empty register wondering what to do with the IP. So the thing is Infinite's budget is what now? Let's say it's over $500 million dollars. Microsoft will need to release HALO Masterchief Collection on PS5 and Switch (Super Switch) to make up the lost money. Best way to do that and try make up the extraordinary loss of not only money, but talent and overall confidence in the IP, is to send HALO back home where it started. If not, then surely Microsoft should auction the IP off. With only a few months to go and barely any information on HALO Infinite, anyone with confidence is delusional and past the point of being a fanboy.

Why would Bungie want to do that? Unless Microsoft offers Bethesda buy-out money, I don't see it happening.

It really isn’t. Destiny has amazing gunplay, as does 343’s Halo, but both Bungie and 343’s Halo campaigns and matchmaking systems decimate Destiny.

As to OP’s prediction, no sadly. Unless Microsoft re-acquire Bungie, not happening.

Microsoft already owns a small stake in Bungie anyway.

So this is all based on nothing? Lol.

Microsoft aren’t selling the halo IP, not a chance in hell. They’d be absolutely idiotic to. At most they would let bungie develop a halo game for them. Given that bungie left MS because they didn’t want to make Halo anymore, and the shit show that was the story in destiny, would MS even want that? Halo 5 has the best MP in the series IMO, I don’t want bungie back.

also lol at saying halos SP will be delayed.

Really have to wait and see. Patience. It's takes time for Big Corp to ruin a thing. After Infinite fails to meet goals and fans become irate because the game just sucks, the best option for HALO's future will come to light. I should have told my bro to name the thread "Industry Predictions" or whatnot
