Oh The Ascent had heat problems?. Thats interesting, I played through the game fine but had it vsynced at 60fps.

I'll try again tonight and report back. The patch looks promising.

I wouldn’t call this a XGS GOTY though, their impact on this games development could be considered limited at best.
Psychonauts 2 seems like a fine game as well but same argument can be made in that case as well, since the majority of dev time was spent before getting picked up by XGS.

Very good studio pickups nonetheless and I’m sure their talent and experience might help XGS produce some really really good games in the future.

Its their IP and their studio...lets not move the goal post. They're reportedly hands off with all their studios anyway.

Not the Xbox console no, but its on Xbox PC though. I know some people dont want to accept Xbox is just as much PC now as it is the console because of silly console sales warz, but its true.

I wouldn't mind if they bought someone cool like Kadokawa or Square or shiiiiiit even Remedy or IOI.

But they are just buying pound store devs.... sure they may have some great talent but they are not going all out and securing prolific IP's and expanding aggressively.

I would also prefer if Apple and PS did something where the games only came to an Apple gaming rig, with a dedicated store.
Or at the very least make their own launcher on PC with trophies and PS+, where the games launched later but were crossplay and crossbuy.

I agree with you. Sony just agreed to 18 billion in expenditures for the next 3 years. We'll have to see what happens. I dont think theyre ignorant to all the consolidation thats happening, deals like that just take time and are expensive.

I'm happy for Arkane. I love their work, Prey was among the games that got me to join NeoGAF back in 2017. 2017 was a damn fine year. I really enjoyed Dishonored 1&2, and Prey was stellar for me. And like mentioned, for those that know, this isn't too far removed from what they did with the Mooncrash dlc. But I digress. I have a feeling it'll remain niche, as nobody I know is talking about it or knows it exists sadly. But I'll be there day 1!

I don't care about reviews neither but everyone who is already playing the game here or in other forums is liking the game...i still had to read a single negative opinion on the game that doens't come from people who didn't played the game...

Is it because of some 10\10? dishonored 1, 2 and dark messiah were my goty in their respective release years so i guess they were 10\10 games for me too, is it too hard to believe that some people LOVE arkane games?! they make a rare type of games, its like when a monster hunter game come out.
