Wat.... Wasn't even the Wii version 60fps?
No it was 30.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that Sonic Colors still looks incredible. This is a Wii game for god sake. As a matter of fact, all the 3D Sonic games on Wii looked great. Even the bad ones. Sega maxed out the Wii to perfection. I wish more third party games on Wii looked this good.

Surprises me because they did 60 even on Dreamcast.

Different times I guess. Bumping the resolution don't do any favors to that. As much Switch is more powerful than Xbox 360, still have limitations.

Would require a dedicated version, but they're either using PS4 or PC as example.

Watched some previews. Very dissapointed by some unecessary changes. And cutscenes looks like dog shit.

Probably a very low cost remaster. Glad I don't pre-order.

The Switch always gets gimped even on features it should be capable of, PS2 and Wii re-releases still only running at 30 (smdh). I'm super grateful the Steam Deck will soon be a thing.

Why not?
Unlike Skyward Swort, it's not a remaster but a remake with new engine (like Banana Mania), new SFX, new lights etc.
But Blind Squirrel games should have proposed a performance mode without fancy effects, lower resolution. What a disapointment for the Switch...

Ya it's really not acceptable to be honest.
Very embarrassing

We played Sonic Colors: Ultimate and it feels exactly like the original game in the best way possible. A few quality-of-life improvements and some fun new menus for customization and stats make this a fantastic welcome back to one of the best Sonic games ever.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate adds a pretty substantial amount of new content, though none of it really elevates overall experience beyond what it was on the Wii. That said, it still holds up as one of the best modern Sonic games to date thanks to its imaginative level design and clever implementation of its Wisp powers.

Looking forward to playing this.

Had a go of it on a modded Wii but never stuck to it, so will be downloading on PC.

Pre-ordered this. And in October I'll get Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. Is it Sega nostalgia time or what.

Not sure why. Sonic colours on the DS was amazing, this one not so much.
Well Sonic colors basically took the day stages of unleashed and made a fun game out of it whereas the ds version (while not terrible) is just basically sonic rush 3.

many would argue that, generations aside, that sonic colors was the last good sonic game.

After 11 years, Sonic Colors finds a new home on updated hardware with Sonic Colors: Ultimate. In this video, we compare the 2010 Wii release side by side to the updated PS4 version (Played on PS5) to see what's changed. Sonic Colors: Ultimate comes to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch on September 7th or September 3rd with the purchase of the digital deluxe edition.

Originally released in 2010, Sonic Colors for the Nintendo Wii quickly grew to be a highlight of the modern series. Despite being a Wii exclusive without high definition support, Sonic Colors became a fan favorite for it's bright and colorful environments and creative theme park worlds.

Unfortunately, without owning an original copy for the Wii, there has since been no other way to play the critically acclaimed title. That all changed in 2021 with the announcement of Sonic Colors: Ultimate— a remastered port to celebrating the series' 30th anniversary.

This side-by-side comparison puts the original Wii release up against the updated PS4 version. The remaster includes a higher resolution, framerate and a re-recorded soundtrack based on the original. Other updates include the addition of the Jade Ghost wisp (previously only seen in Sonic Team Racing) and unlockable cosmetic items. Sonic Colors: Ultimate comes to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch on September 7th or September 3rd with the purchase of the digital deluxe edition.

FUCKING LOL the game is absolute garbage on the switch, which is no surprise because the switch is a garbage console. How does a wii game run worse on the switch than on the wii?
I've seen a LOT of videos on this. It's more of the case that the Switch version wasn't optimized and it's a shit port that's software based, not hardware based. Other versions seem to be fine but not the Switch.

Why are they re-doing this game? It may as well be a mobile auto-runner game.
You clearly didn't play this game or completely misremembered it, Colors is arguably the least speed-focused and most platforming heavy of the boost Sonic games.

I can't sure if others consoles would be fine, take into consideration for reasons we don't know why, they remade the game on an entire new engine instead of just remastering the game.

Switch target is 30 fps, while base Xbox One and base PS4 are 60 fps, but IDK if both PS4 and Xbox One maintain locked 60 fps 100% of the game. The videos I look for on Youtube usualy show the PS5/Series X gameplay, with is nothing more than the PS4/Xbox One version via BC, so there is no PS5/Series versions of this.

Easy to most of them saying the game is locked when is the Series X/PS5 are brute force the game just like the PC.

I played some of this on the Switch not a whole lot.. but ahhh
I don't know if it's the Switch version I never played the original before but man this controls horribly.
Sonic is sooooooo floaty.

How did they go from Sonic Adventure to this?

He controls fine in the Adventure games.. well a little glitchy at times but certainly a lot better than this.

oof

So happy I decided to buy the Xbox version instead. I hope Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania doesn't have issues on the Switch, because for some reason I thought I'd go with the Switch version on this.

I thought Sonic Lost World was pretty decent. Sonic Forces had its moments too, I especially liked the 2D sections and the boss battles. Obviously the game had huge issues too.

Sonic Colors sucks in almost everything except the music. And now with the remaster, even that might be a concern.

Sonic controls like shit except when boosting, even if you end up getting used to it.
Uninteresting story, cringe dialogue, very short levels... Unleashed and Generations >>>>> Colors, by a wide margin.
