Final Fantasy XIII debuts on Xbox Game Pass tomorrow

Which is kinda pointless for a game like FFXII (or FFXIII).
I wish FFXIII had 60 fps, but it's still 30 on X. Saw some PC footage of it at 60 awhile back and it looks completely nuts. Makes a gigantic difference. Not sure how it looks on XII, but it couldn't hurt.

Yeah it’s awesome for XIII. The combat for that game is so flashy and dynamic, it makes a big difference.

Not as big of a difference for XII but it’s still extremely nice. Much easier on the eyes, especially if you have an OLED

Saying “60 FPS doesn’t matter” is such obvious sour grapes, I can’t believe anybody would say something that ridiculous.

That's a pleasant surprise. I wonder if my current self would appreciate it more than I did when I had it on PS3.

I was really upset when it came out, but looking back I think I was too hung up on the lack of exploration in an airship that I never really gave it much of a chance.
Smh... the exploration is the whole.... Nvmnd I guess people are trying to pretend this is a good game...

You didn’t correct anything, it’s true at this point. More available games and better versions.
FFVII,FFVIII,FFIX,FFX/FFX-2,FFXII are all on PS4/PS5 as well. So i really can't see why you insist on your moot point.

FFXIII is hardly considered a "legacy FF title" btw and if you consider that a "legacy" title what about FFXIV which is still not available on Xbox platforms? Stop spinning and be thankful that SE has finally put those FF games on Xbox platforms especially considering how poorly FF always performed on Xbox platforms when compared to PS.

Oh yes and a turn based FF can be played on 60FPS. Stop the presses lol.

Oh so now a 2009 game isn't old? Too bad that was your point in your first post. Nice goal post moving, and throwing in an MMO? Pretty pathetic.

Look even Sony sees it.

I'm acknowledging the same complaint I had years ago when I bought this day one and couldn't finish it. But, I still wanna finish the game. It's just a thing with me and Final Fantasy. Gotta do em all.

Keep spinning fanboy. It's one thing to say a game is old (especially when i compared it to FFVII Remake and FFXVI) and a completely different thing to call it "legacy FF title". FYI i don't even consider FFX as legacy title.

And why not throw FFXIV? It's a much better FF game than FFXIII regardless if it's an MMO.

Moving the goal posts to be something completely different from my point. You lost, move on or don't.

Calling me a fanboy is hysterical, am I a fanboy of xbox? I have never played a FF game on xbox. It's a PlayStation series to me since I bought FF7 at launch, still have my copy. I pointed out that xbox has the legacy game edge and you being a fanboy can't deal with it.

Ok buddy keep on calling FFXIII a legacy FF title if you want people to laugh at you.

And regardless of where you played your FFs your initial post was baseline trolling and false so you were called out.

Yes, you laughing at me.

You getting triggered by facts doesn't make it trolling.

I'd argue FFXI and FFXIV is better BECAUSE it's an MMO. FFXIV especially. Yoshi P is one of my dev heroes.

You're so delusional it's hilarious! Please tell me more "facts"! :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Ok so you are done, you have nothing left, cool.

Do you just need to have the last word to feel better about yourself? Go ahead, that's fine. I guess that's how you have over 20,000 posts, always needing to get the last word on all the arguments you have lost.

Setting up and using your gambits right was more fun and challenging than any of the combat in the turn-based FF games.
Aren't gambits from FFXII, or are they in FFXIII too?

I didn't mind setting up gambits in XII as much because you can control how the game plays itself and intervene in combat if you want your characters to take other actions.

Yeah I’m not sure if they meant paradigms, or are confusing the 2 games.

Though I’ll agree there are some fun and interesting ways to set up paradigms instead of just com rav med and com rav rav.

ahh oops I meant to say paradigms.

But yeah gambits were fantastic as well. I loved being able to automate all the routine stuff to my exact specifications and intervene as needed. I seriously do not get the appeal of taking full manual control of every single action your party makes.

People also criticized FF XII for playing itself, but who gives a crap? In the turn-based FF games, the vast majority of the time you just keep attacking until you win. Maybe use a healing spell now and then. Does it really matter whether you automate that stuff according to a set of rules, instead of manually doing the same thing thousands of times?

FFXIII playing itself with auto-battle is what turned me off from it. If I'm just going to be hitting selecting auto-battle most of the time, what's the point?

The battle system is pretty great if you don't auto battle, gotta keep your level low though obviously it becomes boring if you can kill everything with your eyes closed.

It does? Which Final Fantasy games are not on PlayStation? Hasn't every Final Fantasy since 7 launched on PlayStation?
And, of course, FFXIV counts. It's a numbered Final Fantasy and the best one in a long time.

And now, the older Final Fantasy games (VII, VIII, IX, etc) are being taken off GamePass and put on PS Now.

Load up any of the Fabula Nova Crystallis games on PS4/PS5 and get back to me. Numbered or not, amazing or not, an ongoing MMO is not a legacy title.

X, XII, XIII-trilogy all look have upgrades on box not found on PS, I'm imagine that's part of his point. If you don't care about higher fps or higher resolution it's a moot point of course.

That, and 13 trilogy isn’t playable on PS unless you have a PS3 kicking around.

i don’t even know what he was talking about there. Your level is gated in each chapter. This is the only FF game in the whole series where you can’t just grind your way past any challenge. You actually have to get good.
Oh, well that’s actually disappointing to hear. I love grinding until my characters are super powerful 😢 it’s one of my favorite things about FF

…oh well! Onto chapter two!

Doesn't that make the game much harder though?

That's the point? I'm saying the system is good and shines if you keep the difficulty up. Like, tons of games have easy mode but you aren't forced to use them.

Why though? Is grinding the fun of the game for you? The battle system is well made, turn off auto play and it's pretty engaging.
I also threw some difficulty mode ontop that on PC.
