Uncharted Collection on PC leak just killed my desire to get a PS5 (Techradar)

If you mainly play on PC.. why would Sony really care?

That's the weird lack of logic to this idea that PC gaming is somehow going to destroy the Playstation "base"... you aren't really part of the "base" if you do the majority of your gaming on PC.

Yeah? What I posted is a separate article.

All of those games are about 4 to 14 years old. If someone resisted getting a Sony console for that long, then it's safe to say that he was never truly very interested in those games to begin with.

PS5 games are coming to PC too. Not on the same day but that doesn’t matter. The point is Sony games are now on PC and there’s less reasons to own a PlayStation console.

People bringing up UC collection is a PS4 game like that matters. You’re also missing what the author is saying. He even says this means there’s a good chance any future Uncharted games will be on PC also.

Sony has already planted the idea in people heads that all PlayStation games will be on PC

If they are coming to PC great, why not. But people saying why buy a PS5 is a bit ridiculous.

This does not mean they are going to be releasing PS exclusives straight to PC. Uncharted 4 is over 5 years old lol. Horizon Zero Dawn you had to wait over 3 years. If you want to wait that's fine but most people have moved on and playing something new. I don't need to add 3 - 5+ year old games to my backlog lol

For each fan boy that dont buy the game on PS console, 10 Pc gamers ll buy It on PC, dont buy a ps5, dont buy their games cause ll launch on PC too, they really dont give a Jack about u.

Its funny, U4 is free as part of the PS5 PSPlus collection, and of course the remastered PS3 trilogy was also given away on PS+ in the past.
So yeah, real big deal.

Lol yeah, remastered ps3 games killed his desire to get a ps5. Sony bringing these games to PC is a good thing, it's not like they launch day and date with them. If you want it on launch you'll need a console, if your willing to wait a couple years grab it for pc I guess. So many of these people are so dumb with this stuff, "oh yeah, the uncharted collection is coming to pc, dont need a ps5!" Sony is going to do this with every exclusive it seems!" What a bunch of idiots, way too sensitive of where your aged products and up. Just be happy that it builds either the games or studios fanbase

You’re talking about a bunch of back catalogue stuff, 3 of those games from the collection being PS3 games, that nobody is buying a ps5 to play. I frankly don’t care if they release older games on pc a few years later.

His concern is that Sony will start doing day one releases, I guess. With their purchase of Nixxes, who knows how that's going to play out.

I doubt I would have bought a PS5 if that's their goal.

I can see more people doing this if Sony keeps bringing more games to PC. I don’t know why Sony thinks they can break away from what made PlayStation so successful and a big brand.

They thought they could sneak Horizon ZD and Days Gone on PC and come up with lies and excuses about why those two came to PC. Every damn interview with Hermen Hulst is a new bullshit explanation about their PC support. First it was just HZD and “not all games are coming to PC.” Now it’s the best experience day one is on PS5 and 2 years later PC PR crap.

That's silly. Most console gamers are simply console gamers. They do not game on PC at all and have no desire. If console gamers want to play PlayStation games then they will buy a PlayStation. Same for console gamers and Xbox.

And Hulst did not commit to all games coming to PC "2 years later" at all.

Sony knows there is far better and more market and money in the PC/PS5 echo system as opposed to just PS5. Both the PS5 and Series X are just convience machines imo and I am speaking as someone who owns both.

Xbox's freedom of Crossplay/Cross-progression has been huge for me.

In the meantime I only bought Returnal, Demons Souls and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart for the obvious reason and yes this is what makes the PS5 unique and reason to own, but in the long run Sony will benefit far more by opening up their echo system and titles to more consumers.

Some people just wanna have a custom built PC without any hardware limitations for those that have money, other people just want too sit down on the couch, not worry about building their own hardware or spend thousands of dollars on the latest GPU while still playing at high settings and good visuals. Everyone wins and more money for Sony.

I dont know if they'll do it this generation right now, but maybe halfway through or near the end. Either way, this is the future whether you want to deny it or not or like it or not.

I was never going to drop $1K+ for a PS5 (console/controllers/games) when I have PC and XSX/Ninty but I've never played a single Uncharted game so it's a bundle I'll snap up and enjoy on my PC with an xbox controller. Good move for Sony to pickup sales from people like me that were never going to invest in the hardware ecosystem of PS/subs anyhow.

When will people learn that releasing games on PC doesn't take away from console sales? Apparently not any time soon unfortunately.

Even as someone with a PC that's significantly more powerful than these consoles, Sony releasing their games on PC wouldn't affect my decision to buy or not buy a PS5.
Consider Tech radar needs clicks.
Also consider the console war will never end.

Techradar guy is in his rights to wane on the PS5. If some have a competent pc but were on the fence on PS5 due to certain games, now they no longer feel the fomo with Sony games going multiplat. Nothing surprising about that.

Sony is betting on PS4 fans carrying on. But I’m not sure where new fans are to come from tho. Ms has got their gamepass hook, and pc fans have their Sony games assured. The acquisition potential of the current pie has shrunk.

Hmmm i always assumed the logic (besides more money) was to get primarily PC players interested in a Sony system...these are afterall games that have had what....5+ years on the market.

Im sure they'd want you to go "man, HZD was a blast...cant wait for a second part...oh what, its out soon on PS5 but no PC timeframe insight....

Dont get me wrong, some people can wait 5+ years but the luster is gone a bit.

It's meant to entice IMO

Good to see sense starting to win this ridiculous argument. If Sony are brave enough to release everything day and date on PC that would be marvellous.

Don’t be a Sony, Microsoft or PC gamer, just be a gamer. Let me play wherever I want.

It’s perfect isn’t it? Dude who has been thinking about getting a PS5, won’t because a collection of PS3 and PS4 games, the latest one being 5 years old, is coming to PC.

The gaslight is strong.

It's just another fuck PS piece by TR. They put them out all the time.

IDC honestly about the collection going to PC that doesn't affect me any. At this point they are years old. If PC guys wanna wait that long for PS games so be it.

So basically, more Sony exclusives are timed exclusives?

For PC owners, knowing that these games will eventually come to PC does lower the value proposition of a PS5.

Agreed. If you decide to choose to buy a specific console you should be rewarded by knowing you have access to exclusive experiences that you could have only got for choose their system, otherwise what's the point.
Since it's a multi-year delayed released. That's already your first point. Then you have the inherent benefits/trade-offs of owning a console versus owning a PC.

I bought PS2-4, PSP, and Vita because they had games I couldn't get anywhere else. Right now with a gaming laptop I have no reason to get a PS5. And if the PS5 doesn't get the exclusives, why should I ever get one?

I think I'm clearly part of the base given I even actually bought a Vita.

Trash take. You buy a ps5 because it's the best machine from a price performance standpoint you can get these days. Not to play old ass uncharted

And I say that as a PC only gamer that HATES PSN and the Playstation ecosystem in general.

400 USD for 8TF is hard to beat, even with PC hw at mrsp

It certainly makes the games feel less special and the whole 'exclusive' marketing has now been turned into a lie.

The feeling of 'being tricked' is not nice. The feeling of being lied to is not pleasant as a customer.

I can see many PS gamers being turned off by this behavior...... I stopped buying all games (exclusives) day 1 due to my disappointment with their current strategy.
Everytime i see someone say that they stopped buying games or buying games day 1 because of reason XYZ...this is what comes to mind. I think you still buy all games day 1 and probably subbed to all ps network services as well.

I still haven't got Returnal...and no exclusives pre-ordered, which is a big deal to me. I was completely obsessed.

I do have PS+, 2 of them in my house but can be cancelled any month I don't like.

Might not seem like much of a stand though.... I admit.

This is all about extra money, sony don't care about fanboys, they feel they can make 200-300 mill a year with these ports, without losing out on playstation sales, they think that growth on console sales has stalled, which is bad news if that is true,i think if they want new consumers, they should first cut the price of these consoles sooner, focus on subscription services, buy more studios and get more exclusives games out.

Will his Playstation stop working if sony games are released on PC? My xbox still works. Didn't know sony consoles were so fragile. Or maybe it's users are fragile, not the console. Who knows?

I don't know whats worse. This article or the fanboys actually triggered by such a stupid article lol.

If another re-release of a bunch ps3 games and uc4 are making you reconsider getting a Ps5 then you never really wanted one to begin with.
