I would probably get this around launch if I wasn't already planning to get Deathloop and Lost Judgment that same month.

I'm soooooo glad to see even party members who are not active will join the battle and it seems everyone will level up, so no one will be left behind.

Did they remove the battle transition animation?

No reason there should be one on PS5.
Because its not "PS5" game, it also coming on last gen consoles as well, for me it doesn't make any difference.

Doesn't look like there's any children or feisty teen characters in the party. Count me in. Those are instant turn offs for me.

So, email about Collector's Edition landed in my mailbox and now I am tempted.
On one hand I like artbooks and other junk, on the other hand I had a bunch of Collector's Edition games and they are all gathering dust on the shelf (or I sold them for a few bucks on Ebay later on).

So I want it and on the other hand the other part of me tells me it is just useless hoarding and I should just buy it on Steam.

I just looked up the price and it's $190 lol. I'm definitely just going to grab the Steam release.

What kinda game is this? Is this like Black Desert or Monster Hunter? Doesn't seem like traditional action. I'm interested in this game. Just need to know what to expect.

This is nothing like either of those games. I've never played Black Desert, but as that's an MMORPG.

You can check out some videos online that show the gameplay.

It looks good. I’ve owned quite a few Tales games over the years, but I like where the gameplay is headed with Arise. That would leave Granblue Fantasy Relink and the obvious Final Fantasy XVI to do this style justice.

Likewise. Excited for Tales, SMTV and NEO World Ends with You. Want to get Monster Hunter Stories 2, Bravely Default 2 and Ys IX. Damn what a good year for RPGs indeed.

Yeah I can't wait for this game. The gameplay looks fun, and the world looks interesting. Hope the game is as good as Abyss and Vesperia, which are my two favorite Tales game.

This year has been great for JRPGs. I need to get Ys IX. Monster Hunter Stories 2 is a great game. Bravely Default II and Persona 5 Strikers are my favorites this year so far. Haven't played Neo The World Ends With You yet.

The amount of pop in is horrible

Not that I care about that, but I was hoping this gen would get rid of some annoying stuff specially since the hardware is more "powerful".
Pop in will always going to exist in games, like clipping, the trick is to hide it best way you can.

Every new Talea games looks amazing. Then I play them and remember I don't like the combat. I'm bored about halfway through or earlier, but usually persevere. I threw in the towel pretty early on with Bersaria though.

The graphics are a pretty significant leap though. I'm definitely interested, if not fully committed yet.

I know it will always exist, but I was hoping this gen would improve upon the previous one and reduce the amount of pop in.
For the last gen versions, fine, but on next gen consoles it's just disappointing.

We're reaching a point where there's almost no improvement on the processing side, only on the visual side of things.
There's more polygons and higher resolutions but the amount of things that is possible to put on the screen remains the same.
Don't forget Tales of Arise still PS4 game getting ported to PS5, same way Persona 5 was PS3 game that got ported to PS4.

Also in all honestly once I get in to gameplay and start having fun, I don't really pay attention to pop ins or other graphical imperfections.

Ill be getting it, PC or PS5, undecided yet. Kinda want a disc copy…

*Raises hand while giggling*
One of my most antcipated releases in years. PS4 and PS5 versions ordered. Cant wait to dive in.

Very nice, I'm gonna try out the demo and then make a decision.

I never used to play games like this but after getting into FFXV and then VII Remastered and recently Guilty Gear, I am moving more and more in this direction I feel.
I suppose my minds been opened a bit.

Very excited to experience it.

Yeah, Dragon Quest XI had those and I never bothered.

Was just hoping for an improvement overrall, it almost feels as if after PS360 gen things just stopped evolving.
You need understand games like Dragon Quest or Shin Megami Tensei, don't sell big numbers outside of Japan like Final Fantasy does, so they can't justify having expensive graphics.

Also even with high end graphics still didn't stopped me from getting bored of Horizon, meanwhile despite visual shortcoming I highly enjoyed DQ and SMT.

I'm at point in my gaming life that "high tech graphics" is not all that exciting and just don't really care anymore.

Similar thoughts on Horizon as well. Everytime I start playing it, i get bored, and play something else. The western open world formula feels like office work. Ghosts felt different though. Even if it had a lot of similarities as Horizon.
