FromSoftware making Souls like Exclusive for PlayStation not Bloodborne 2

3 game deal was reported years and years ago. DeS, Bloodborne, PS5 exclusive. It’s coming, it’s pretty much nailed on.
From Software made a lot of PS exclusives since the PS1.
They are part of Kadokawa, who also made a lot of PS exclusives since the PS1 days.
Months ago Kadokawa gave 2% of their company shares in exchange for getting help from Sony to bring Kadokawa's games and animes to a bigger, worldwide audience.
Jimbo said they were working to get more exclusives from Japan and other Asian countries.

So yes, it's super likely that Sony will continue getting From Software and Kadokawa exclusive games. If that 3 games deal would have existed, the 3rd game would have been Deracine, not the PS5 game.

Regarding the State of Play, I think that if this game exist they won't show it there because From now must be busy with Elder Ring and this PS5 exclusive would be years away from being released and maybe even announced.

How would fromsoft + Sony game work now? Both Bloodborne and demons souls were fromsoft + Japan studio things.

From + team asobi?
In the past Sony Santa Monica handled the American 2nd party games, XDEV handled the European 2nd party games and Sony Japan handled the Japanese 2nd party games.

Now XDEV will handle all the 2nd party games. They have been hiring people to work specifically in games developed in Japan and other Asian countries. Santa Monica now only develops their own internal games and Japan Studio (now renamed to Team Asobi) only develops their own internal games.

Lmao at all the people in this thread that dont understand how business partnerships work, ive been playing from soft games for 25 years now on playstation, them being more succesful now then they were back then has no extra barring on the type of work priority they have with sony, investments will be made and the relationship will continue. They have always had a good partnership between the two and Fromsoft understand there roots, there is more than just money that is involved when making business decisions.

Also hermen hulst told you ninjas something was abroad from kojima studios and fromsoft but you didnt listen. Context clues are everything.

That being said i dont expect any real news on this until elden ring is out. And thus filed away with a grain of salt.

Sony invested in Kadokawa and they have already stated that through XDev they're doing partnerships both with japanese and western studios.
So yeah it's just a matter of time until these projects are announced.
But as always I wouldn't put too much faith in these rumors from twitter ''insiders''. Just yesterday Sony was supposed to announce a new SOP....
These people want mainly attention.

As a huge Wipeout fan I'd love to be real, but I think this is total bullshit.
I wouldn’t write it off completely. Sony seems to be in the ”revive/remake old franchises”-stage that permeates all popular culture at the moment.

I’d love to see a Wipeout game for PS5. 2097 was one of the first games I played on my demo1-disc, the gameplay haven’t aged and the music is top notch.

Yep. They 'recently' made Wipeout Omega Collection, featuring remade versions most stages and ships from Pure/Pulse/2048, that even got a PSVR version. It would be nice to get somethine like Wipeout Alpha Collection that would be the same but getting stages from Wipeout, Wipeout 2097, Wip3out Special Edition and the remaining stages from the modern WO games that weren't included in Omega Collection.

A brand new Wipeout, even if it's a remake/remaster, would be my PSVR2 system seller.

This feels like it makes sense from just about every perspective.

From are more than capable of working on two games at once, and I can certainly see some collaboration with Bluepoint.

Bit gutted if it’s not Bloodborne 2, but extremely happy if From are concentrating on a next gen only Ps5 game.

Demon's Souls 2 could keep the Archstones and the Light/Dark adjustable alignement of each world, and build upon a more sophisticated system with entire sections of a world open/closed, a modified dynamic environment, new kind of monsters depending of the current affinity, a dark/light forge etc. There's a realm of possibilities.

Awesome if true. Miyazaki and Kojima are my favourite directors so exclusives from them are as big as they come for me

Miyazaki has become a true gaming icon. He doesn't have to play the sequel game. Just come out with original games and people will buy it because of HIM, not the IP. Thank goodness there is still at least one person with talent, power, and love for video games in this industry that seems to actively suffocate creativity for the sake of profit. It seems like Japan is the only place that has these kinds of devs. Western game devs don't have icons like Japan's Kojima, Miyazaki, Yoshi-P, etc.

Maybe Todd Howard? But he hasn't put out a good game in a looooong time.

Yeah, I have the Omega Collection and a friend of mine has PSVR and says its pretty much the best PSVR game there is, unfortunately I haven’t tried it in PSVR. If the PSVR2 isn’t too expensive I’ll easily buy it, Wipeout would be sick with it.

I wanna play it with cockpit view, haptics and (almost) 4k resolution. Must be pretty crazy!

If Sony paid for it I don't like it but there is nothing wrong with that. But I find it hard to believe from would do this on their own.

Yup, that’s what the rumors have been hinting at. Demon Souls, Bloodborne, and now maybe the end of a FM/PlayStation trilogy.

Jumping Flash, Omega Boost, Intelligent Cube, Thousand Arms, Tale Concerto, or Monster Rancher like souls game for the love of all that is sacred!

this comes from the same source who said Iki Island is a standalone game and it turned out to be just DLC in the game so it's not reliable

I hope whatever they are making is better than Bloodborne. It was not a fun game to me. But I will get a PS5 for a new From Software Game.

Yeah, no.

No one ever tells Nintendo to move on from Mario or Zelda, why should From move on when you can count their "Souls" games on one hand?
Because mainline Mario and Zelda games release approximately once every 4 or 5 years while these Souls-type games have become a dime-a-dozen and release almost yearly now.
