Glitch In Da Matrix, when things finally went your way and you got away with some bullshit and stuck it to the man

With all this talk about shipping issues, this one fits. About 15 years ago I lived in an apartment block and the old tenant bought constantly on Amazon and never changed his address for two years. I would call Amazon about it, seriously several times a week, and they told me to keep it. Apparently it was more expensive to deal with returns back then. This guy ordered tons of different things, mostly books about the entertainment industry, old TV shows and movies from the 60s through the 90s. I eventually had a garage sale and made a small fortune on all of the stuff he ordered.

Not gaming related, but I ordered an Ottoman from Wayfair 10 years ago when I think Wayfair new (I just googled it and it says they actually started in 2002, but I never heard of them at that time). It was so long ago, there was duty charges shipping to Canada.

They sent me a box but it sure seem light. It was a bar chair????

I had never heard of Wayfair so I thought I got scammed from from a sketchy website. But they sent me the right thing later. At the time I was talking to CSR I asked him what I do with the chair. He said keep it. I didn't need it, so I gave it to a coworker.

Ordered a TV through a certain online retailer. Delivery date came and went, no TV. Called customer service. They said it would be delivered in two days and gave me a $100 credit.

Second delivery date came and went, no TV. Called customer service. They said it would be delivered in two days and gave me a $50 credit.

Third delivery date came and went, no TV. Called customer service. They said it would be delivered in two days and gave me a $25 credit.

Fourth delivery date came and went, no TV. Called customer service. They said they would ship a new TV because the other one was lost.

A few days later, both TVs showed up.

Where i live we have an euronics that does crazy day one discounts, just preordering a game would give you a 20 euros discount.

For years i never payed more than 50 euros for any console game AT DAY ONE (any type of game, from gta5 to tlou2)

Right now they are not doing this thing with the ps5 but it's just for the first year, from next year there are gonna do the same type of deal.

One evening my dumbass (now Ex-) girlfriend pulled up at our apartment in her friend’s dad’s pickup truck with a giant ass armoire in the back that she had just purchased. It was heavy as fuck and barely fit into the stairwell. Took us probably 15 minutes to get it up the stairs. Then I had to remove the damn molding from the closet door just to fit it in.

Then we opened it up and it was crammed full of blankets and pillows and baskets and stuff. Apparently the furniture store had been using it as storage. So we got a bunch of free stuff at least, although I was still pissed.

we broke up shortly after that and she moved out, at which time I helped her get it into a van and it wasn’t my problem after that.

I know for a fact she stole my copy of Tales of the Abyss for PS2 when she moved out. But I kept the security deposit (fitting enough because her dumb ass tried to use a bar stool as a table, which she then knocked over and spilled an entire large Hi-C from Taco Bell all over the white carpet, which ended up costing like $400 to replace).

In 2013, after a 3 day binge on amphetamine, coke, mdma, weed and alcohol, I burned down a house (with myself in it) cause I thought it was surrounded by angry people with guns - so I had to make a distraction - the situation given. I got out of the house and found out there were no angry people with guns - only the owners of the house, standing there with a garden hose, trying to put out the flames. The fire department came (way too late) to put out the flames and the police drove me to a mental institution, to get evaluated. 8 months later, I was sentenced to 5 years of monthly visits to a mental hospital and pay for the burned down house. The owners insurance company wanted $400.000 from me - I never got back to them - and after 3 years they simply stopped contacting me.

During grad school, I bought a new Epson printer. It used so much fucking ink I couldnt believe it even when I put on shitty draft mode and such. After a year of edless ink cartridges, Future Shop wouldnt take it back of course.

I got hold of Epson and the CSR was super nice. She said she'll send me a brand new Epson. Dont open it and see if you can return that one. I tried, but the FS clerk said we dont even sell those anymore but wanted to help me out. I showed him a receipt so I wasnt BS'ing. So he gave me 50% store credit for it. I'll take it. Better than nothing.

I then bought an HP and was 10x better.

Best glitch I know from someone I know.

My brother lucked out with $500.

Back in the 80s or early 90s. The bank we all used transferred to another location. Something weird happened and he got an extra $500 added to his bank account. Or maybe he pulled his money out and gave him $500 extra. I forget.

He kept his mouth shut hoping they wouldnt notice and they never did. Every once in a while to this day he brings it up and laughs.

I only got to take a couple of games home before launch date back when I worked retail.

Damn, $175 in credit for a couple of late delays?
In my country it's like "Oh it didn't arrive? we are very sorry but we'll do nothing about it and now please fuck off".

Then 2 weeks later on some random week day you'll get a call and they'll be like "we've randomly decided to deliver your item today, one hour from now. Yes that's 15:25 when everyone is most probably at work. Also if there's no one at your address to receive the product and sign for it we'll just have to send it back. No we can't reschedule".

I bought a laptop a decade or so ago, was advertised as having 320 GB HDD, the final confirmation page said 500GB and I got one with a 750GB hard drive, WD Scorpio Black. At the time that was quite a bump.

In a reverse-glitch in the matrix, a cashier also called security on me once. I had an Xbox 360 with a modded drive and it RRoD'd on me, so I figured I'd buy a new one, insert the broken one in the new box, return it for money and call it a day. Unfortunately, there was a serial number on the box? They scanned both it and the console itself and figured out I was scamming them. I went to a completely different city to do this, so I just left before security came and never returned there.

Microsoft itself didn't give a shit. I sent multiple modded 360s to them under their RRoD warranty term and I got them back fixed and still modded.

One of the delivery guys from this "certain online retailer" recently tried to steal something I ordered by "losing" the package. He didn't expect me to be standing there waiting for him to deliver it, so when I asked him where it was he said "oh, it's on the van behind me." I was like "um, I'm looking at the app and it's on your van, check again." He got this disappointed look on his face, went back to the van, and "found" my package.

The last fight club boss in cyberpunk. Was kicking my ass then the gods bestowed a glitch on him and he got stuck on the corner of the ring. Needless to say I beat his ass to victory!!!
Best glitch boss fight I had was Mass Effect 2. My character glitch/clipped into one of those big concrete blocks so he couldnt even hit me. But I could hit him, so I just kept shooting at its weak spot (I forget if it was the eyes of heart). Lamest boss fight ever due to that.

Also had a glitch order long time ago. Ordered a Dell and at that time USB stocks were a big thing. They were supposed to toss in a 256 mb stick, but only gave me a 128 stick. So they sent me a 256 mb one in the mail and I kept the 128 as bonus, then gave it to a friend.

Another Dell I got years later was supposed to come with a 3 gb video card. But when I got it and checked the system specs it was the correct video card, but 4 gb. Hmmm... whatever. I'll take it.

ordered a PC with some discount code earlier this year. a pretty decent system with a 3080 GPU. after a month they have all the parts and finally put it together and shipped it out. got it and started on working on small adjustments and updates, and when I opened up the case, I realized they put a 3090 in it instead. so... yeah, a rare occasion for me where I got lucky with my purchase.

I was short on money until I found a GPU with a impressive configuration for half the price in Kabum, a online retailer. When the product came, it was really slow, so I double checked and realized the gpu offered simply didn't exist. They agreed to return my money, but I demand they offered me a product of similar power without additional cost. Had to get some lawyers involved, but got what I wanted.

I once got 300 copies of Baldurs gate dark alliance 2 for the ps2 at ten dollars each. The company black isle and interplay shut down and i was close enough to get a closeout deal. I then pinched em at 60 a copy. Made a nice chunk of cash.

You were close enough to their office? And they were dumping them to the public?

The last level of Stronghold was brutal to me as a child.

One day, one of my lone battering rams glitched out on red health, all of the Wolf’s men stopped shooting it. It was literally invisible to them.

Over the course of about 30-40 mins that battering ram single handedly destroyed every gate, wall and siege tower in his shithole of a fortress.

Once my faithful battering ram had done its duty to its King and country, I sent in all of my ground troops and absolutely raped the Wolf and all of his men.

I bought a $100 gift card off an online retailer. I was sent a stack of 10 of them.

Once bought a 2.1 speaker setup ($150). I received 2 and contacted retailer and was told to send the other one back. I sent it back and was refunded and I also got to keep the other one. It was trash anyway, so I gave it to my uncle.

The gift card thing was amazing though, I shared it with others too.

I preordered Switch game from Amazon for release day delivery and it didn't arrive. I waited the required time and reported it lost and got my money back. Then it showed up 2 weeks later. I contacted Amazon to arrange a return and they wouldn't let me return it because I already received a refund so I kept it.

I booked an international flight for my honeymoon for the (EX) wife and I, cost around £2K. I got a booking confirmation but my card had still not been charged in the two months since I made the booking. I phoned the airline a couple of days before with a carefully worded call to double confirm everything was alright with my booking but not mentioning that I was worried becuse my card had not been charged. "Yes, Mr Nush, everything is good for your flight".

Went on Honeymoon, came back, card still not charged. So I cancelled that credit card just to be sure and never heard from the airline.

I had something similar happen just recently. Went on a trip to Boston/Cape Cod in June. I needed to rent a car and it was outrageously expensive to the tune of $1,200 for 4 days. Had no choice. Did my trip, upgraded the rental car to a QX50 because I wanted more room and bought fuel service which brought it up to $1,450.

I didn't check my receipt when I returned the car and got my credit card statement. They charged me $460 and change. Apparently when I returned it the clerk messed up the day and time returned and marked it for the wrong day and cut just 3 days of the rental off. They still haven't charged me.

Also had a glitched Crunchyroll premium membership for years after canceling it. If I tried to click "upgrade to premium" it wouldn't let me because it said i already was. It finally worked itself out earlier this year when they revamped their apps/website.

I forgot about my GCU at Best Buy. It’s active until 2023 (still active despite the program being long closed). I paid for one year back in I think 2018 and the cashier messed up and gave me all those free years.

I lucked into the Steelcase collectors edition of PS2 RE4 and the collector's edition of Final Fantasy XIII-2 with the sleek af white case and the OST and art book without pre-ordering either.

I was in high school broke as fuck on Kingdom Hearts II's release day and managed to crowd fund my purchase during the school day by asking classmates for 1 to 2 dollar donations.

Got the second to last 60gb launch model PS3 from EB games.

I moved 1200 miles away from my hometown and went back to visit family several years later, rented a PS4 game from a local video store, forgot to return it, and the store closed and became a Goodwill.

Another one, my phone contract ran out last year and I refreshed my contract with a Sony Xperia I II, a new 4k phone which would be priced into my contract fee.

After renewing I noticed I wasnt paying 60€ a month but instead 25€. I was like huh, so I called em up. They have my sim only contract on file but apparantly there is nowhere its registered that I have this phone from them 😂.

I was like ok nice free phone babyyyy

When I was going to buy a TV in 2018 I had settled on a really good TV in 55" (XE93/X930E) for £1000 preowned, only used for a month or two.

Then we noticed the 65" ZD9/Z9D (minimum size for the model) display models on the shop system went to clearance price finally (Released in September 2016), its one of if not the best HDR LCD ever made so I was excited but it was still far too much for me, £1300 was my limit. Most were boxed up in the back of the shops and there were only like 27 units left across the UK in total, it went to £2699, then £1999 and then finally £1399 and I went to buy it, but at the same exact time by washing machine broke and I really needed a new one so I didn't have enough money anymore and there wasn't enough time to open a credit account as there were only 3 left in the UK.

I called my dad to ask for help with the washing machine and TV purchase and he agreed because he's awesome and said "I'll up tomorrow to do it with you" thinking that was reasonable and I was like "uhhh I need to buy it today Dad or it will be gone" and he just thought I was being impatient so he came up the next day.

Of course they were all gone off the system but I noticed this weird other model when I was searching throughout the day to make sure there were no returns, turns out it was a mislabelled entry in the system and it was in the fucking store I was in! Best thing was it was a return from a guy who was unhappy with how a specific app didnt work on Android OS (Wasn't Android TV yet) and nothing else, so the panel itself was perfect condition, just no original feet/stand.

Ended up paying like £1200 after discounts and I'm still amazed by the TV to this day, I'm writing this message on it.

I've since been massively beaten in awesome TV deals by my friend who got a 85ZG9 for £800 this year due to Covid putting everything on pause (including returning floor models to the depot) and letting the auto clearance price system go out of control and keep discounting it. The RRP is £13,999.
