Does anyone else have "pressing buttons just right" OCD?

This reads autistic spectrum (no disrespect)

Not necessarily. No disrespect taken!
OCD..... the volume on the TV, soundbar or whatever had to be on a even number.
Yes.

That must be miserable as shit, I have a thing sometimes where if I step on a crack on the sidewalk with the heel of my right foot, it feels unbalanced and I have to eventually do the same with the heel of my left foot. But that’s as far as it goes. It’s so rare though, I can’t imagine how annoying this must be for you.

Subtle and specific. Nice.

I've just bought a Brook Wingman controller adaptor to use my PS5, and more importantly my PS4 pad which I still like best, on my XBSX, if that counts?

No.

And ignore them. You'll get better. Otherwise they'll drive you mad.

That's what I've been trying to do, and yeah, I'd say it's working. Now I'm much more able to tell myself it doesn't matter and actually move on than I was a few years ago. At its worst it would prevent me from playing some games at all for a long time, but that hasn't happened recently.

*Everyone* has rituals.. Just think about the way you dry yourself after a shower.. has to be in a (general) specific way most of the time. Does it not? Otherwise it doesn't *feel good* Well some have it a little more than others. It's only when said rituals take up and/or impede your day to day functionality in such a way it takes a hefty toll on your social life/job etc that you would seek professional help.. And even then it's probably so integrated into your being it's better to just try to minimize and cope with it instead of ignoring/downplaying etc.

Good job :)

The more you ignore and convince and tell yourself, "see? Nothing happened. It's all good!", The better you'll feel and become. Or challenging yourself, telling yourself, "like so what? What's going to happen?", And so on, and seeing the immediate result that nothing actually happened. That's how I beat a few of them many many years ago. I just stopped and said whatever. I'm still alive. Not going to succumb to this.

Eh, it doesn't affect my life in any other way than making playing games annoying sometimes. I don't have anything as bad with anything else, only some minor OCDs that a lot of people have. And as I've said, it's much less of an issue today than it once was.

ya it was a bad joke. but we all have our tics. me as well.

Sure, actively ignoring subconscious impulses when manifested can work perhaps.. Imo a better path is to acknowledge them and try to redirect that impulse in a non negative (?) way.. Like reprogramming your initial input; getting that impulse redirected. For instance try instead to relax your left foot and then your right..

Then again I feel your thread was made to share an odd observation about yourself that you are more or less a ok with instead of seeking guidance, advice, etc.. Lol =P

Doesn't help I finally have some insight to contribute as well as find this particular injection of human psychology in games very fascinating!

My apologies; my autisme flares up even more when intoxicated. Dont6want to sound pretentious or know it all; it's just the way my mind works <3
