Heighten Your Senses™

The DualSense wireless controller for PS5 offers immersive haptic feedback2, dynamic adaptive triggers2 and a built-in microphone, all integrated into an iconic design.

Haptic Feedback

Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions with dual actuators which replace traditional rumble motors. In your hands, these dynamic vibrations can simulate the feeling of everything from environments to the recoil of different weapons.

Adaptive Triggers

Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.

Best. Controller. Ever. Period.

Think the pad is ace, but I've had one snapped r2 trigger and my new pad is getting a sticky square and triangle button and my hands are always clean. I don't eat sweets, food when gaming. Searching the net and there seems to be a lot of cases of sticky buttons.

I think its an awesome pad but needs some quality control sorting on it.

Never even touched one but I can't imagine the dpad being as annoyingly loud as the one on the Xbox Series controller.

I absolutely love the controller, the adaptive triggers alone are fucking game changing. Sony really hit out the park with the DualSense. Just by preference though, the Xbox 360's controller is probably my favorite controller of all time. It fit my hands so fuckin well.

It is absolutely amazing. The way triggers tension change to reflect using a bow or heavy gun trigger?
And the haptics? You can actually feel the rain in returnal and hail in astrobot.
It was a transcending experience when I first launched ps5 and astrobot.

The only problem is awful, terrible battery life. It is 1 evening... maybe You can stretch to 2 evenings of playing. And it's internal shitty battery. It will only get worse with time. I would love to have AA batteries option. Xbox one controller lasts me like a month

i had 3 dualsense controllers that broke its a joke but honestly i cant ignore how impressive it is. just got a black dualsense couple days ago and hopefully this one doesnt fuck up but overall its my favorite.

The Dual Sense controller is really comfortable the buttons aren't loud at all. The Series X controller now immediately comes to mind when I think of loud buttons...The Switch controllers arent tooooo bad. The Dual Sense is definitely the best controller this generation

Dual Sense > Xbox O/s >>>> Switch Pro controller

That thing has no room fingers in the back 💔

Edit: never mind the awful face button placements and the shape of the sticks

Ive only briefly tried the PS5 controller but the tech inside is great. Ive never liked the analogue placement or the triggers (shape) though.

I wish the PS5 controller tech was inside the xbox controller.

Its better than ds4 and comfortable. But I still find myself twisting my right hand a bit when playing shooters. Plus with very little native support on pc (especially outside of steam) and a fairly low battery life, i still find the xbox one/elite/SX controllers to be better.

I love it!

The weight of the controller feels good and together with the build quality it seems overall refined and reliable.
The speaker is way better than the one on the DualShock 4 which shines on the first party titles that have been released so far.
The touchpad reacts better than the previous one, but still has to be utilized to its fullest extent.
The adaptive triggers together with the haptic feedback let it excel especially in first party titles.

The best controller ever made!

Having said that i would like to see buttons that light up in different colors, improved battery life and better sound quality while using headphones. And paddles!

Too early to say. Thing isn't even a year old yet.
To me durability is a big factor in deciding how good a controller is.

It is definitely the best controller, but quality control isn't the greatest which is a shame.

Still getting used to the options button placement, I feel like I'm fumbling around sometimes when I am trying to hit it.

I don’t like the texture of the back. It’s great that it’s micro PS symbols, but don’t feel right when holding the controller. Is not a big of a deal, though.

Regarding features. This is the best controller ever. The haptic feedback is amazing and so powerful. After how lame the vibration of the Switch ‘HD Rumble’ is, I was worried when Sony announced it, but this is on another level. Actually makes me wonder WTF was Nintendo thinking!

The triggers are also great! However, they give me a sensation that they are going to break. I don’t know how durable they are, but in times that they put a lot of resistance they make me worry.

Nope, it's too heavy for no good reason. I tried the Astro room and their idea of "great immersion" feels like a driving a truck with shocks that have long died on a dirt road.

In No Man's Sky the extreme tension made me think I'd break my friend's dual sense, but when I depressed it it felt like crushing a plastic bottle, not starting something with immense power like a spaceship.

Too many small moving plastic parts, we'll see how the longevity of it holds up in a year or so. The battery life isn't so great.

I just got a PS5 and have to say super disappointed in the controller after all the hype I’ve heard. Sticks feel like the material is going to fail like the PS4 ones did, triggers to me feel like they are not strong enough to handle the feedback. Rumble is whatever. It’s a decent controller but it feels like it’s going to break and at 100 dollars a pop that’s a pricey proposition.

The DualSense is a truly great controller, but I voted no. For me, the best controller ever made is the Xbox Elite Series 2. DualSense is a close second.

But everyone has different hands so this is about as subjective as it comes. Might as well argue favorite colors.

Nope, it's too heavy for no good reason.

Not really. For kicks, I just weighed my various controllers:

From lightest to heaviest:

1. DualShock 3 196g
2. DualShock 4 220g
3. DualSense 280g
4. Xbox X|S 304g
5. Xbox Elite S2 344g

edited. Grams. Not kilograms. lol

Shhhh. Don’t come with facts like this. They won’t have anything else to complain about. Additionally, even the people who don’t own a PS5 or the DualSense complain about the nonexistent battery life.

Steam Deck is almost 700 grams. Imagine that

Best one Sony has ever made but not even close to the Elite Series 2 controller just having back buttons and trigger stops.

I will take those 2 additions especially for shooters over upgraded vibrations any day.

Easily the best controller I've ever used in terms of feel, comfortability, and features.

If you take into consideration the build and longevity of it I wouldn't put it much higher than the DS4 though. I've already had to replace both the L2 and R2 springs and the left stick has a slight issue when pushing it directly forward.

Too big, and the sticks are sub optimally placed. 360 and onward controllers beat it as an actual controller all day. Time will tell if the gimmicks are used well enough to overcome that.

It's my favorite controller, but that doesn't make it perfect.

The build quality still isn't as much better as I had hoped. It's better than DS4 which now feels like a toy, but it didn't find me long to find my first squeak. Still want to see them do a take on the Elite controller with metal parts and elevated build quality etc.

Oh and the joysticks already formed the rings around the stick part from use, which I always noticed on past Sony controllers but not others too.

After using the the Dualsense the PS4 Controller feels like a toy.

I loved the 360 one too. Both are for me on the same level. Dualsense wins on the feature side and 360 controller on how he fits into my hand

I have two and both of them have problems, one of them the trigger has no more tension so if my finger barely touches it it fires and the other one has an analog that will just flip out and make me aim at the sky
Sorry I use my controllers, Sony.

I think the rumbleHD adds a lot to the immersion. Since rumble was introduced on N64, at least for me it was on that machine, there was no way going back to rumbleless controllers, I remember that the sixaxis felt godawful and something was missing. When DS3 cameback I went right away and bought one.
Dsense feels right on weight and size and the material is pretty good.

Agreed. If Sony offered back buttons like they did with DS4 then that would change everything for me. The lack of that option for DualSense is very strange.

Yup. Easily the best controller. My 2nd Place is probably the Xbox One Elite or the DualShock 4.

I just don't like the color combination of the white I have. The fanmade grey one with the actual PS1 colors is what I wished it looked like.

Though tbf when I game never look at the controller.

i love the weighty and compact feeling the controller has. you can literally feel all the tech crammed inside it. also has anyone noticed that even the normal rumble feels way better than any other controller? its hard to explain. it doesnt feel loose and doesnt rattle the controller. anyone who has used it will know what im talking about.

It's a solid controller with a battery inside so small that it only lasts like for 4 hours. Which is a bad joke.
If the battery of ur controller only lasts 4 hours you should return it. Battery of my controllers last easely around 12h with haptics on. Only exception so far was playing Astro Playroom, that game makes heavy use of all the controller feautures and drain the battery much faster than any other game.

And it is indeed the best controller i ever played with. Thers still room for improvements though.

Yes love it. Adaptive triggers are great. A lot of tech packed in these. It also feels the most natural. Everytime I pick up a DS4 it feels small.
