Dead Space Official Teaser Trailer

I don't like this trend of remaking games that aren't even that old. We need more FF 7 style remakes and less of stuff like this and Demon Souls. I'll still give this a shot though when it's part of GamePass.

ok, it's happening. Everybody stay calm

I tried, but

There's like 0 AAA space horror games being made, so this is very welcome

I guess DS4 would have been optimal

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
It's cool that there's going to be a remake but I actually wanted a new game in the series, not to play the old game with better graphics.

Why are people happy? It's only a graphical overhaul right?
Original held up great in 4k.
It is absolutely a wasted effort unless it's a real remake (like a reimagining). Original kinda dragged in 2nd half.
I would prefer to see a totally new game anyway

Also really happy about them wanting to be as faithful to the original as possible. Hoping for the best through and through. But I'm definitely prepared to throw moola, haha.

It's a complete remake that's faithful to the original. Think how RE2 was treated. After what happened with DS3, it seems like the most logical thing to do. Especially since the pivotal DS team isn't even there anymore. Aside from some folks that were involved in some way.

Holy fucking shit, a next gen remake of Dead Space. Been hoping for a return to this IP for years and now it comes in a glorious way. What a time to be alive!

It's called a re-imagining

I wonder how far along it is. With the devs concentrating mostly on creating assets and graphics as oppose to having to design a new game, hopefully it will be here sooner than we think!.
The first time EA Motive publicly teased this project was during an interview back in November of last year, so I'd say that they've been busy with it for over a year now.

I was hoping for a slightly different story for the remake if the rumor was true but the Nicolas part makes me think we'll get served the same scenario and cliffhanger. Too bad as the originality of the first game and its surprises were part of the scary magic.

The series has a lot of hardcore fans, and changing the story would just bring a lot of negativity.
Doing a graphical remake, with some quality of life improvements, is probably the correct way to do it.

That's not what happened with RE2.
Re2 is a full remake/reimagining. You are changing the game perspective, moving 2d to 3d etc.
This strikes me like more of a Demons Souls remake so far.

Really speaks to how trash and creatively bankrupt this industry is. Remakes after remakes.
If this is succesfull we might see a follow up sequel after 3

Anyway you are right about that one

A remake of a 08 cult classic game just single handedly trash every other EA announcement today

Yeah but to be honest, i enjoyed seeing surprises in the remakes of first Resident Evils lately even though i deeply enjoyed the originals back then. I loved the Dead Space Trilogy (yes, even the 3rd) but knowing exactly what will happen on screen 1 second before the screen is going to cut black for the credits (we all know how it s going to happen) is a bit annoying.

Valid point! I frequently forget Demon's Souls was remade as I didn't care for the OG and loved the remake, lmao.

Would be neat if they adjusted things here and there ever so slightly like RE2, to improve the experience. But honestly, I'm super hyped regardless.

A remake isn't exactly what I was looking for, especially when the PC version still holds up pretty well to date. Oh well, I hope they atleast don't make Isaac a mute on this remake too.

I wonder if there is any chance DS2 will be included in this package.
I mean we are not in the 360 era anymore where your AAA campaigns were 6 hours long, gamer expectations for game length has gone up in 2021. Would EA be able to charge $60/$70 for a graphically better 6 hour Dead Space today? (even though i would pay it).

I'm proper excited for this. Wouldn't have minded a brand new game (WITH ELLIE DAMN IT) but a remake of 1 for a newly made team to get their teeth into and show what they can do is alright with me. If they prove themselves, then Ellie. Give. Now.

They want to bring this franchise to new audience

Theres lot of gen z high schooler/fresh graduate who dont get the chance to play the original game
