You wanted politics in games everyone. Now get in line to get your state sponsored copy of Spy on your neighbours!

And don’t forget to cheer all the Chinese characters in our games, and enjoy all the lovely Chinese locations we use as well, along with the mythical Chinese stories… which are entirely for the purposes of the individual game, and not at all a propaganda tool!

Also enjoy never seeing a Chinese or Asian villain again in anything! Or any other gameplay or story element that will in any way show China in any kind of bad light!

Glorious gaming futures!!

I still don't understand why companies from countries that are not free markets are allowed to buy out companies that are in free markets.
If you are going to have a fair market then companies from China should only be allowed to partner with companies from free markets.
Otherwise China gets cake and gets to eat it as well.

Communist dictatorship owned companies shouldn't be allowed to take part in a free market. I'm telling you now, it will end very badly if we continue to allow the CCP to buy up everything. The western governments thought they were so smart, they reasoned that if they allowed the CCP to join the open market that it would lead to them becoming more westernised and democratic, so utterly utterly naive, they've created a monster that will bite us all in the arse, this will end with us being wholly owned by emperor Winnie the Pooh, or war, or both, mark my words!
Agreeeeed 1000%.
What ever restrictions are imposed by Chinese markets should apply to Chinese companies operating outside of
China.

So you're saying Sumo Digital don't operate in a free market.
When did I say that?

I'm saying Chinese companies should not be allowed to operate in Free Markets because the Chinese Market is not free.
They should be given the same privileges that China gives outside markets, they should be allowed to partner with companies.

My original comment was in relation to the purchase of a UK based company, does the company which was purchased operate in a free market, yes or no.

At this point, whether they should be allowed to do it or not is a different topic, and is irrelevant since they've been allowed to do it.

It's absolutely relevant to the discussion.

Are you ok with Unfair trade practices?

Are you ok with the Chinese government owning parts of non-Chinese companies operating outside of China?

Are you ok with Communist governments owning parts of private companies in Democratic Republics?

I have CGTN in my cable TV package, which is the English-language Chinese state television. I've seen it change over the years. It's becoming more fierce by the day. Just a couple of days ago a program was on where Xi Jinping proclaimed nothing works except socialism with Chinese characteristics, or whatever they call their dictatorship over there. Seriously fuck that dude. They do not just want to protect their own interests. They're heavily investing in Africa and introducing the Chinese way of living and their ideals there. The entire Belt and Road initiative runs through free countries in Europe, buying into companies and governments alike. We fought the shit out of Nazi Germany for freedoms and now we're giving it all away. China is the catastrophe of our times.

I'm guessing within ten years China will have a big finger in ever aspect of this hobby and we'll start seeing them pushing their weight. Hope you like propaganda and cheap, soulless knock-offs of things you currently enjoy because there's a lot of it on the way.

Godspeed Sumo Digital, you had a good run.

I don't think anything will be able to top Sumo Digital's Crackdown 3. GOAT. The industry is still trying to make a game of that caliber.

Blind Gaming Monthly and Blindspot both gave it a 10/10. They may be blind as a bat but they are the only review sites that matter.

The hate for China is funny, i guess 'China is the new Russia'

China is not the first “less than optimal” democracy in the open market that we all trade with, but it is the first one with an economy that can overtake the U.S…. the extreme reaction can be understood in this sense.

To the moderator who deleted my post, if you think what I wrote was "so far gone", then that tells me you are "so far gone", maybe find other sources of news, not CNN...

If you'd given a more reasonable comment for deleting my post, like I was off topic, then it would be fair enough, but your censorship only proves my point, afraid of offending your CCP masters? Everything I said was true, educate yourself.

They were given a completely broken crackdown 3 to "fix" in like 12 months, and were told they also had to strip out the cloud demolition infrastructure it was built on/for. They were crazy taking on the job, but it's unfair to dunk on them for trying to clean up Microsoft's mess and falling short.

That's very presumptuous of you and as usual you didn't read or understand the statement made so you went off topic.

Come back when you have something relevant to say.

Off topic? Presumptuous? I am not sure I started bringing geopolitics in a gaming thread…

The point was that China is not the first country we trade and do deals with even if we do not agree with their local policy / human rights record / etc… your aggressive remark is what I find out of place.
