FFX-3 on the table?

So apparently FFX-3 could happen after FF7 remake is done with. That will be years away, still, but the idea of this gets me thoroughly excited.

A prequel to FFX with Jecht/Auron/Braska that leads into the original FFX (with an FFX remake to boot) would be great. Equally, a new story of the same caliber as the original set in Spira would be killer. Maybe Yevon bringing Sin back or something crazier?

Something tells me Square's going to bridge FF7 and FFX worlds together, they've been hinting at it. I think it makes sense in some ways, would be interesting.

Not sure how I feel about the great turn-based strategic combat of FFX turning into the same crap as FF7 remake though, hopefully they dont take that direction but im not sure if turn-based combat would be accepted in this day and age.

What do you want from FFX-3?

fuck off GIF

I do not want Nomura to touch the last good Final Fantasy. Stick to fucking up new FFs and FF7R with your shitty characters and ideas.

I understand the argument against Auron, Jecht and Braska prequel, but really it's all about execution. There's enough unseen history between the three characters to make a full game. Auron is obviously my favorite, but Braska is a very interesting unexplored character. It's too easy to say he was simply motivated by the death of his wife. He could have known far more about Yevon than he ever expressed in the Jecht spheres. Also, Auron had a life before the pilgrimage with him rising through the ranks of the warrior monks. It sounds like he had a complicated friendship with Kinoc from the way he reacts to him at certain points in the game. They could deviate from traditional storytelling and make it a Russian roulette of perspectives between the three.

If they did a prequel, I think something at Yunalesca and Zaon's time period would be cool, though. Like, during the war!

After the remake is done... In 2030? I'd rather them not remake FF X (or make a X-3).... I'd rather them Remake FF VIII or VI..... or even IX. However if they are going to remake any of them as an action RPG they shouldn't remake them at all.

They could do a whole game on Jecht beating the shit out of Tidus so he can man up. Or maybe about how Braska ended up with an Al Bhed and his tactics to get laid. Or Kimhari being bullied by his 2 race pals since being a kid. Or they can explore why the fuck Lulu has so many belts on her dress and if that's Wakka's fetish to be whipped by her.

The real choice? Pre-quel of Braska's journey. X-2 was so bad I can't even...

As someone who isn't into FF I have to say their naming is a little confusing.
The first Final Fantasy game released was supposed to be Square's final game.

As it turns out, it saved their company...

... Only to get destroyed by the Final Fantasy movie a decade later. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

I remember a script or something was released awhile ago and it was horrible.

"The game may also forego the conventional turn-based combat of Final Fantasy X, as recent entries"

No thanks.

God I wish I worked at Square in the naming department. I'd be able to put my excessive drinking to practical use.

FFX is the most overrated FF game. I kinda hope this happens just to see how much more they can possibly shit all over it.

Hope they make it based on Nojima’s d-list fan fiction where Tidus fucking
kicks an exploding blitzball and dies
lol

no matter how bad it's made it'll never get as bad as dragon ball's movie. Think there's a good chance something decent is made. FFVII remake was pretty good, minus the unnecessary twist into fanfic drivel.
No, no there’s not. They already made one sequel where Yuna freaking becomes a pop idol and travels the world dressing in slutty costumes and getting into a wacky high jinks. Then Nojima’s novella, which is supposedly like really terrible fan fiction.

What makes you think another FFX game would be anything but terrible when even Nojima evidently considers it to be a total joke?

I think ffx-2 was good. Particularly the secret ending, iirc. Sure it's mostly fan service and filler, but I have to imagine even filler content must serve a purpose of some kind. Besides there's good filler content from time to time, produce enough and quality is bound to emerge.

There's no point without the trifecta: Nobuo Uematso, Masashi Hamauzu, and Junya Nakano.

For all the great things about FFX, those three composers madebit what it is. I've never played a game with a more heartfelt soundtrack. It is beautiful, and the way they brought Spira to life was pure brilliance.

Bring them back, and I'm back too.

There's also the question of whether Nojima is still creatively capable enough. After FFXV and FFVII Remake i'm not too sure anymore. FFX for me had the best story and characters in the series and i wouldn't want to see it raped (again).

Yeah, agree. I haven't been sucked in by a FF story in a long time. They need new blood, and get off this bigger and crazier is always better nonsense.
