Far from casual numbers.Well with 50mil XB1 sales, 5+mil? Series sales, 23mil Gamepass subs, and rising by 3mil a quarter for the last year.
Xbox sure has a lot of hardcore gamers!.

how does it? the 360 was an entire gen ago and also the result of sonys colossal pricing mistake. there is no $200 gap between ps5 and xsx. in the entire time both brands have been around, that was the only time xbox managed to outsell PS in the US and microsoft threw it away with xbox one. maybe sony will make another colossal mistake in the future but this gen they have been damn near perfect when you consider that most peoples main complaint about them is they are "too quiet".
anyway what honestly makes you think xsx can sell more than ps5? i cant see how anyone can come to that conclusion without heavy bias. PS5 will sell more. theres no doubt about it.

Wasnt even XB1 only 4 or 5mil behind PS4 in the US?, i'm sure it was estimated at something like that. Plus like you said, 360 sold more, regardless of circumstances.
I think the Series consoles could beat PS5 in the US. Worldwide its a given for Sony, but US is up in the air for me. If XSS takes off with parents over christmas times, the huge amount of exclusives that will be coming over the next few years. Literal system sellers like Elder Scrolls 6 (ecven if it comes towards the end of the gen), Fallout, Doom, etc. Gamepass is taking off big style with 3mil subs a quarter for the last year.
I think Xbox has evey chance in the US.

i suppose its possible if microsoft were very aggressive and sony sat back and do nothing but im genuinely struggling to see it. i cant see sony making a big enough mistake to really shift the perception in a such a big way. i think the best xbox can manage is to stay very close to ps5. that would a big win for them to even be so close to a juggernaut brand like PS.

I dont think Sony needs to mess up, Xbox is just equally popular in the US. If the weaker XB1, with a gen of the most negativity i have ever seen, can come within a few mil of PS4 in the US, i cant see why the Series consoles, with a lot of positivity around them, and finally the games, cant match or exceed PS5 in the US.

they are not equally popular at all. 360 was the anamoly. PS2 sold more than XBOX. PS4 sold more than xbox one. and currently PS5 has sold more than series x. so more often than not, PS sells more than XBOX since both brands have existed. you cant really argue with these facts but yes i agree with you that things can change but im thinking not this generation. thats all. micosoft will need more time before the masses know about gamepass. that is for sure their way back to take marketshare away from sony. it really is a brilliant service. its almost too good.

looking at history, i just find it highly unlikely. like i said, xbox has only ever managed one time and that was off the back of sonys suicidal ps3 launch. do you remember how bad that was? but sony are well past that and have more than recovered.
which is why i keep saying i dont see sony making such a big mistake because thats exactly what happened in the past for microsoft to consistenly sell more consoles than sony in the US. either a mistake or something crazy like call of duty or GTA exclusivity. it isnt going to happen just because of gamepass is it? the service has already been around for over 5 years but anyway, we have our different opinions and thats cool. lets just see how it plays out.

Ms goal is to have subs. Hardware sales are useless in this regard.
All you do is waste money, building hardwares. Do the software sales. Use those sales to cover the lost. It will be all depends on the games you sell there. And only the people who bought your hardware, will buy these games.
So to them, gamepass makes a huge sense. Low barrier entry. You don't need a console. Very cheap entry point. Allows you to buy games on console. Stick xcloud might be a thing for them, to increase the player base.
All that is left, is that steam partnership. Once it happens, I will be locked down on that steam handle held console.

It should be the opposite. I might be tempted to get a 2nd ps5, if the games I like right now are next gen exclusive.
For xbox, as long as steam is alive, I am covered. I am not in a hurry to buy the console.

Come to Germany, nobody wants an S here, it's always available and has been discounted by 20€ for a while.

It depends on what Xbox buys. Right now, ps5 lost main shares in bethesda games.
There is no doom, Elder scrolls, fallout, Obsidian fans.
These games will be all on xbox. That is a new players gain for xbox.
The next major publisher buy out, will change the ps5 balance again.
Remember, zenimax is a western audience. All those went to xbox. Another major buy out will mean the same thing.
The old xbox didn't have compelling library. Now it has it. Fable, perfect dark reboot, and avowed. Those huge games, weren't on xbox one. As long as Xbox keep getting better library, expect it to outsell ps5.

I was a PS guy last gen but switched to the XSX this gen. I'm pretty sure that Sony Exclusives are still a pretty big reason to get a PS5! Let's not get too excited.

X360 wasn't anomaly. The key features x360 had, was service. It improved the xbox live, and made a social console. Before, consoles were peer2peer. Now it become huge social networking, thnx to Og xbox, and Xbox 360 laying down the foundation, for MP games as a social game, where people can chat live online.
Microsoft is good at making weird things, that will be a must for new consoles. This time, they made gamepass, and xcloud. It will disrupt the market heavily. The value of consoles will be worthless in the future. We keep talking about internet not being good. OG xbox come out with a wired connection. Now we have a ps5 digital, and series S, where you can download your games through a wifi. That is how much, internet improved.
The psnow was last gen, and its experience was laggy. Now this gen, we have stadia, which experience is a top notch. Next gen, streaming will be normal. The internet is getting improved alot. We are getting starlink. Netflix is joining the game, meaning more fix to the lag issues. All these companies will improve the technology fast.
Mobile phones went from big handle held device during ps2, to a highly sophisticated computing machines. That is 20 years of progress.
Hell, VR is getting in to the system. Steam launched VR machine, and Playstation will launch a new VR machines. These didnt existed during the ps3/x360. The only thing that was close, was the kinetic, which was a head of its time, and released at the worst possible time. It could have been a hit this gen.

It's already been established in this group that XSX has been in-stock at many retailers in the US. for some time while the PS5 sells out immediately. So you admit that Halo isn't as big as it once was so we're on the same page. The series' peak was a decade ago.
Series S and X games have been starved of exclusives so I think plenty of people will play it, although I certainly wouldn't expect monster sales due to GamePass, and the initial general reaction last year.

I literally hope this project dies. It clutter the sky, makes the life of ground based telescopes insanely harder and has terrible latency. Like insane latency. It only benefits are for streaming non interactive content. For reactive entertainment like games, those satellites won't help you in any way shape or form. You'd need fiber for that or vectoring to have a as low as possible latency.

As I've said, I can easily find a Series S, there's just not that much demand for them in Europe. People have said the same about the Middle East.I cant even find the series S. its literally impossible to get it. All you see is scalper prices. it means, you are seeing series S scalped version.
Have you checked your halo 5? It sold 9.5m on xbox alone. the console which has 51m at the end of its cycle. That is the same as spiderman sales on ps4. 20m/2=10m (116/2=58m console) if we make the ps4 same numbers as xbox.
People considered halo5 bad, yet it sold that much. I really dont get your logic.
If we use your logic, god of war sold 12m on ps4. With xbox/ps4 conversion, that means god of war sold 6m copy on a 58m console. Do you see your logic?

COD, Battlefield are 1-3 yearly releases on 3 machines. They arent halo. Despite halo being old, people chart the MCC on steam alot. Last mainline halo was halo5, and we dont have that game on steam. The moment they put the game on steam, expect it to chart top 10 for a while.

By your own logic - Halo 2 sold 8.64m copies on the original Xbox (24m units sold) a much higher conversion rate than Halo 5 on Xbox One. So my point, which seems beyond your comprehension unfortunately is that the series is in decline, not as big as it once was. Nice comparison to a new IP by the way.

It's very popular on GamePass, but it's already out and Series S and Series X are being outsold 2:1 by the PS5 so it's obviously not helping that much....Like I said, you're very bitter about the state of things for some reason and you're clearly hoping for an upturn in fortune for your favourite platform. But right now you appear to have your head in the clouds with regards to the size of the Xbox brand and some of its best known IPs.

You have got to be kidding, units is what matters for console hardware. You can throw a party for second place all you want, like many are doing, but for consoles what matters are unit sales. This is a fact, and Xbox lead in revenue because it’s more expensive than the switch, and it had their biggest month in revenue because it’s much more expensive than a 360, but it didn’t have its biggest month in terms of units.
