Why The True Start Of The Xbox Series X|S Generation Is Now | The Wait For Xbox Exclusives Is Over

The "Xbox has no Games" story ends this July. Xbox will release a continous stream of exclusive games and 3rd party games in Gamepass. Xbox will also bring more technologies, features, back compat games and new studio acquisitions to the table. And we discuss today why the true next Gen starts this July!

Imo next gen starts for xbox with forza horizon 5. One of the best looking games I have ever seen

For ps5, it started straight from launch. Demon soul's was a clear step up from ps4. Also Astros playroom and the duslsense was a true new generation experience. Ps4 controller now feels outdated and ancient in comparison.

SlimySnake

Flashless at the Golden Globes
Ascent
Flight Sim
Forza
Halo

Not a bad second half after a lame first half. They are gonna be competing against Sony who will have Deathloop and Kena. But most importantly, they will finally have some AAA games and next gen only games on the XSX.

Next year is going to be even better. Good luck to them.

So now we're just creating threads based around videos from random no-name youtube channels with less than 5k subscribers?

Why was this video particularly interesting OP?
Yeah its one thing making a thread because of an article from IGN, or an article from some games journo, but we dont need these threads from some random clueless youtuber.
We may as well make threads for every thought we users have on here.

The usual suspects slamming on the LOL reaction within minutes of the OP being posted - yall are a sorry, sad bunch.

I was going to wait for Halo's launch but the semi-surprise midsummer Flight Sim release date had me following twitter accounts waiting for a Series X drop - I got lucky and got one 2 weeks back.
This video lays it out - Flight Sim really is the start of Xbox's new 1st party lineup. Hopefully the games hold their release dates for the rest of the year.

Its all about Flight Sim, BF2042, Halo, and Horizon 5 for me. Ill finally get around to playing Hades, Judgement, and those Blaster Master Zero games too.

Im pretty happy with my Series S. Almost every time I open up the Gamepass app I find some new game coming out in the next 2 weeks that barely even got announced.

They haven't had the killer AAA stuff yet, but it sounds like that will start slowly trickling in. I've just enjoyed a steady stream of AA games honestly. Im trying more stuff. Been a fun experience so far. It doesn't replace my PS5 or my Switch but its a nice compliment to them.

Mine starts with starfield. Maybe redfall could be interesting. Aside of that, will try some halo, but mainly, i will play fifa 22. HFW if its gets released. Gow next year, If I am alive. anyway, would definitely play hades, and psychonauts 2 day1 once it drops. Its up my alley games. Right now, I am busy with breath of wild, to make me busy.

Exclusives wise, I had Gears Tactics back at launch and will have Halo Infinite in November while I had Miles Morales at launch and Ratchet a few weeks ago for PS5. Despite a bad first year, for me personally, both will end up being tied at 2 when it comes to exclusives.

First half of 2021 belonged to Sony but second half of 2021 will belong to Microsoft. Flight Simulator releases in the coming weeks and in the fall, Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite will put Xbox ahead overall for 2021. 2022 and beyond will be even better for Xbox fans if they can hit on their one exclusive per quarter goal. Oh man, this is going to be the best generation for Xbox by far!!!

I know some people will never accept it, but for just $10-$15 per month, without any type of price increase, yes, that indeed does make any and all new game additions effectively free. Want to tell all Game Pass Ultimate subscribers we had to pay for EA Play when it was added at no additional cost? I mean, you could, but it wouldn't be accurate. Access to an EA Play subscription with full access to the vault of games was given to Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers 100% free of additional charge.

What surprises me often about effects to downplay Xbox Game Pass is that the very people doing so are no doubt likely Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ or Hulu subscribers, or at the very least are taking advantage of something eerily similar. Go ahead and tell me how I've somehow had to individually pay for every episode of invincible I've watched on Amazon Prime Video, or how I've paid for every episode of WandaVision or Loki on Disney+ that I've binge watched, or how my access to HBO Max (which comes courtesy of my Verizon Fios Cable Package) is somehow costing me extra to have when it's a free perk of something I was already paying for for years. With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate I pay a one-time monthly fee, that doesn't ever increase regardless of how many new games are added, to have full access to all existing and new games on the service. And yes, so long as a game is still present on Game Pass, I actually do own it as well as every other game included, because that's what I'm paying for, access to a games subscription service.

Short version Yes, new games are added completely free all the time. And, yes, an Xbox Game Pass subscription does represent full game ownership. Telling people they don't own anything on game pass is like telling people they don't own their house because they pay a mortgage, or that they don't own the internet or cell phone service they're using because they have to pay monthly to keep it active.

why don't you stop paying for a month and see if you can still access the games you think is free?

No.

Starts with Flight simulator on July 27th.

No game comes even in close to Flight simulator on technical level and graphics.

But for real gamers who care about games and not graphics, for them it starts with Ascent nd all.

It’s not free you’re paying for the service.

Ok I'll try

paying $120-$180 a year

cost $120-$180 a year?

Every game divided by the monthly cost is literally less than 2 cents, and it gets smaller with every new addition...

The price never increases no matter how many new games are added. What do you think that means? You think each time more games are added the hundreds of existing games plus the new ones are JUST $10-$15?

Try to buy every game coming to game pass by the end of the year, you're easily looking at over $500. How about every game that has come to game pass this year alone? Over $1000 easy.

$120-$180 a year with Game Pass vs over $1000 per year. Oh yes, forgot about EA Play games, so more expensive still. Without game pass can you ever get the majority of the absolute biggest releases for a games platform without having to spend a single penny more than what you're already spending? The answer is no.

If there is no price increase by the time Starfield and Redfall drop next year, Xbox Game Pass owners the world over will have gotten every game up to that point at no additional cost, aka free.

yeah i want you to explain that, you telling me i can pay 1 month and have access to games on gamepass forever? how can you access gamepass without paying tell me and i'll go sub right now
You should go sub right now.
It is the best value for a gamer, the best value we ever had for good games.

Again, do you still buy music and movies? Or have you found better value services for that?

So if you go to Microsoft and explain you only played 4 games this month and try to give them 8 cents for Game Pass, you think they will go for it?

Meryl Streep Doubt GIF

I'm not paying the monthly fee for just whatever I happen to be playing at the time or for the month, I'm paying the low monthly fee for access to 100% of the game pass library, and for brand new games and day one big releases that don't ever add to my cost.

At some point down the line Game Pass' price may increase. It has once already when they offered the Ultimate plan. But that's okay because Ultimate came with much appreciated added benefits over the regular subscription, such as access to both xbox and PC versions of all game pass titles, and an EA Play subscription for free. We also get acces to Xcloud for free with Ultimate. It's a killer package from where I'm sitting.
