Hitman 3 Post launch content problems

Hitman 3 is one of the best games of this year. I completed the game with 100% mastery of entire game and was looking forward to new content but Sadly all post launch content released so far has been really bad. New content is nothing but same recycled levels with shitty reskin outfits. :(

Mr freeze, popular Hitman content creator also pointed it out in his video

It looks Hitman 3 post launch content is done by some small team and main team busy with James bond and Project Dragon for Xbox.

It's a real shame as those games are excellent but if it makes Bond better I don't mind. They're perfect for that.

Yeah it's definitely disappointing that they launched one of the best Hitman games ever and seemingly headed for the hills. There's so much more they could be doing with the game... oh well.

Between the main game, deluxe upgrade and DLC, people have paid $120 for what amounts to five Hitman maps and a bunch of escalations and items. It's pretty crazy.

I'm waiting for the game to come to Steam but there's no way they're going to sucker me into paying that.

Its a real shame since it sounds like Hitman 3 was the most financially successful out of the "new" trilogy but yeah, the after release support has been weak compared to the previous 2 games. Glad I didnt drop on the 7 Sins business as it looks pretty weak...like shit that probably would have been offered for free on the previous games.

Yeah it's sad how quickly they dropped making proper new content for the game, especially with Hitman 3 supposedly having the best launch. I have 0 interest in paying serious money for glorified escalations and I would gladly pay for a new map (or two).

So question. Do you mean they planned stuff and DIDN'T do it? Or that the planned stuff that they did do is shit?

they are lazy obviously, i rather they release 1-2 new maps instead of the stupid 7 sins nonsense.

This game needed two more maps. The last level is a train wreck. I hated it.

Yeah it was an incredible mistake to buy the Deluxe Edition in hindsight, especially when you compare the content to the Gold Edition of Hitman 2.

What did you expect? For real, the dev team themselves have said NO NEW MAP POST LAUNCH. So of course it's gonna be stuff like outfits, challenge etc... But please don't be surprised as it is know since day one.

Oh I mean they made it clear that there were going to be no new maps, but given that they were charging the same amount as H2's 3 DLC maps, I had hoped they'd at least put a little effort into the content they did promise, rather than it merely being a scam to exploit their fans and help fund either their James Bond game or their theoretical Xbox exclusive game. Hitman 1 had great content despite no new maps for example.

They did say shortly before launch (if i remember correctly) that there was not going to be any new levels. I'm not sure if they detailed the entirety of their post launch support in terms of the deluxe editions though.

I will say that even with the understanding of no new levels, the output has been really poor. Hitman 2 had really wildly reconfigured existing levels for new missions and we have not really seen that with Hitman 3.

Well, it was the studio that cried because "bouhouhou Square is bad, if Hitman 2 fails we are doomed". All of that to get incredible support from their fans on Steam, H2 being their biggest game sale yet and then... they do a fucking Epic exclusive for H3.
So yeah I'm absolutely not surprised, they just like other big studios: they make a hit (Hitman 1), then they capitalize on this (Hitman 2) and then they fuck it up by chasing money (Hitman 3).

Gotcha thanks for the heads up!

Planned stuff they released bad so far. All recycled stuff from main game. I tired of doing escalation shit on same maps

Hitman 2 had excellent post launch support. Gold edition was worth getting as post launch content was good.

Hitman 3 only base game is good.

For me it's not about being surprised, more like being disappointed in general.

Plus you can always change your plans if the game actually becomes more popular compared to your predicitions. Look at what happened to AC Valhalla and how Ubisoft increased the scale of post-launch support compared to what they were initially planning. I may be biased here because of being a big Hitman fan, but making new maps for a game that sold well would be easy money for the studio. I have zero regrets about buying the maps for Hitman 2 and I'd pay even for a single new one.

For me i got the base game, beat it once and done. Thought it was very good but I have no interest in revisiting the same places. Sucks that there wont be new levels but overall I was happy with the base game package.

The games were good but everything surrounding them ever since Hitman S1 went to utter shite. I honestly regret paying even half price for 2, and didn't give 'em a dime for 3. Hope IOI chokes on their bullshit. They just don't know how to monetise and support a game properly, thinking you can just add random DLC + online only and it will work out. 🤮

Hitman 3 base game was absolutely fantastic, same with the fact I can carry through all the older maps with improvements etc.

But the dlc for hitman 3 looked mega underwhelming, I never bothered sadly.

Is Hitman 3 as short as Hitman 2? I finished that game story wise in half a day. Really enjoyed it but it was just way too short.

I know the feeling. I'm a bitch when it comes to Total Warhammer II and I buy every DLC day one.
For AC Valhalla a friend working at Ubi told me the DLC plan has been completely changed because of the success, but also because of COVID. Some ideas and abandoned locations for the main game will make it through DLC's (hi Muspellheim) as the next game is far (like REALLY far) from being ready.

COVID as fucked gaming for 2020/2021.
