Cyberpunk 2077 tops Playstation charts.

Guess the stumbled release didn't mean a whole lot for sales.

While I wish CP2077 had taken more time (and the console release was beyond bad), I still think they were just an easy target when other companies have done far worse.

This is why it was such a dumb move for them to release this before it was ready. It has the bones of something truly great but they forgot to put flesh on it. If they would have just waited they could have made a much better first impression.
Gamers were clamoring for the release and kept getting mad at delays…which is why you do not listen to fans…

it's not actually as bad as many on here like to make it out to be. it could be better yeah but it's a fun enjoyable game. i've definitely played much worse games. the performance is what it is for a 2013 console....and for a lot of people they don't have access to a ps5 or PC so there is no option but to play it on ps4.

good for cdpr. i'm looking forward to dlc and expansions.

I'm having a blast with the game, no crashes only some weird bugs that break the immersion sometimes, other than that...one of the best games of the cyberpunk genre. I'm waiting for the next-gen upgrade.

Just get the gaming PC. It's the best option out there, especially since you won't miss out on the PS exclusives since you have a PS5. Cyberpunk was a great experience on PC even at launch with minor bugs. I have a good (not great) rig and had no problems.
True. Though PS5 is not here yet. I've got one on hold for August shipment. Also quite enjoyed GamePass so there's another reason to go with gaming PC.

Haters gonna hate but Cyberpunk is in a really good state today, if you have a decent PC or a next gen console (ideally a Series X) it runs really well.

I finished it twice to try different builds and endings and there’s a lot to love. Is it perfect? Far from it, but I prefer an ambitious game that fails in some aspects than a small-scope, polished and controlled experience. No game will have the scope of CP77 this gen except maybe GTA6.

When all is said and done the biggest flaw with the game is that the story is a lot more about Johnny than about V. You’re basically a sidekick in his plot.

Of course it does.

Can't wait for the expansions, I want to do a second playthrough once they are out. On my highend PC this was an amazing experience, warts and all.

Well if you buy it on ps5 now it will run better at least. I won't even consider for at least 2 years but others will.

Bigger surprise is GTA still at 2 and 3. It never stops.

I don't think any gamer out there won't play this down the line at one time or the other.

You just don't have so many games with such a stricking vision, so it's normal that anyone wants to try it.

How did you find the first 10 hours "not very good" lol in comparison to what game?

i would say it's not very good in comparsion to any other AAA open world game that has been released in the last 15 years, because underneath the mountains of bugs it's

- an open world that is absolutly dead with brainless peds that disappear as soon as they turn a corner and no traffic ai that doesn't even know how to drive past you if you stop in the middle of the road or clips through walls.
- an rpg with basically no choice & consequence, a skill tree where certain perks are completly pointless (the underwater perk) or don't work at all (knife throwing) and all the others are perks that give you lame stat boosts
- a shooter with the most braindead enemy AI, bullet sponges and just awful looter shooter gameplay
- a story that is short and completly unremarkable,. the mission, design consists of bad call of duty style linear fps sequences and walking somewhere with another npc listening to them talk

on top of that it has bad driving, bad UI, bad loot with the same couple guns dropping over and over again, terrible and pointless crafting. it doesn't even have good characters, 80% of the game consists of driving somewhere, getting a phone call that goes like "ayo V you need to kill these random cyberpsychos/gangers/corpos. deets attached"

it's top to bottom an awful game. you can't even customize your character after you start the game even though "style is everything in night city", not that it matters much because you barely see your character anyway and if you want to go for the best equipment he/she always looks like a clown.

What the fuck happened to all the people who worked on the Witcher series? Because Cyberpunk ain't it. I know the first Witcher game was pretty janky, but that was more of a budget problem then anything else, and CDPR should be drowning in money at this point.

From hero to zero with one game release.
Way to go CDPR.

My brother has a obsessive hoarder as a neighbor and even he didn't want this game, he gave it(collectors edition without figurine)to my brother just to get rid of it.

==> Game is worse than garbage(not even a hoarder want it)

Hopefully after all that launch disaster with that game, instead of discouraging them it will make them improve and not make those same mistakes in the future.

It works both ways. Hopefully fans also understand why delays shouldn't lead to death threats and all that shit.

Why is this a surprise to anyone? Surely most people have worked out by now that most of the stuff people whine and screech about on gaming enthusiast sites like this has close to zero real-world relevance?

Bought this a little while ago on Series X to see if it was as bad as everyone says it is. Liked what I played pretty early on, but I’m still waiting for the next gen patch so I decided to uninstall until it drops. After playing stuff like Ratchet and RE8, and knowing what the PC version of Cyberpunk looks like…it’s kinda hard to play through it at the moment. It ran fine on Series X, but I’m waiting for the visual overhaul, because I know the high end PC version looks incredible.

Kinda surprising that it did even when Sony was advising people not to buy it for the PS4.

The majority of the console gamers accept/are used to poor performance, it was the constant bugs, glitches and crashes that were the serious issue CDPR needed to sort out, which they did, so I don't see a reason people shouldn't buy the game on PS4, which is the only gaming hardware many people have and is the only way they can experience the game, but sub-30FPS itself is nothing new in the console landscape, that's what they've been getting since 2013 anyway, especially when the drops in CP2077 are mostly in the high 20s from what I'm seeing recently. But like I said, many many people are willing to swallow it up. So if anything, this whole situation just shows that Sony's decision to take the game down from the store was an over-exaggerated reaction and people would want to play the game regardless.

CP77 is already the second most expensive game to produce. Only RDR2 is ahead of it budget wise.

The gameworld in this is astonishingly good. Once they utilise it to its full potential the game will be next level amazing

It should be no surprise that many people buy bad games. FIFA and 2K are also among the top of the list.

Fuck this post.
P.S. I never even played this game to begin with. I do not support garbage developers.
How can you be so angry at a game you never even played? It's not as if you lost $ or have a personal investment in it. Like I've never played it either, nor do I intend to, but it doesn't cause me seething rage to think of other people playing it.

Read my next post after that one, then you'll understand.

Ahem. PS4 charts. Not PlayStation as a whole.

And there's a very obvious reason for it. PS4 owners are so starved for games, they're willing to scrape the bottom of the barrel. Do I need a /s? Well there it is anyway.

The game is a buggy mess but I loved it personally. Played on PS5 and crashed every half hour or so. If it is improved to a good standard, I think people should play it.

This game should not have been about Johnny Silverhand. I flat out loved the first act because I thought it would be a game about pulling capers in order to become a night city legend. It should have been a game about coming up and doing what it takes to become a somebody. During the second act the best moments were the sidequests. The River and Judy quests were top notch storytelling.

Never got the hate for this game. Seemed like a bunch of edgelords just trying to fit in. I don’t think it’s amazing, in fact it is pretty meh as an RPG, but as an action game it’s good.
I agree, I loved the game… On my high end PC.

it was unplayable on console and people were rightfully pissed.

I played it on PS4 pro. I agree it’s not the messiah but it’s pretty good and it has a good universe. If the breaking bug got fixed, then it’s probably something good to play now.
